Guest Wide Eyed in Wonder Posted July 17, 2007 Posted July 17, 2007 Democrats have been trying for years to get us out of the war on terror in Iraq, which many Republicans have said would aid Al Queda in their desire to attack us on US soil. Now, we have proof of that. An intelligence report out on AP, today, says that Al Queda is planning to use its Iraqi branch to plan and enact an attack on US soil. Did you get that? Their planned attack on US soil is coming from Iraq. Now, you can object to the origins of the war all you want, but we NOW have evidence that the terrorists that attacked us on 9-11 WILL attack us again if we don't stop them, and the base for that attack plan and preparation is Iraq. Knowing this, it is no longer in question. The democrat plan to pull out of Iraq WOULD CERTAINLY aid Al Queda in their planned attack on US soil. And, if we intend to stop this attack, we would HAVE to attack them...guess where...Iraq. Those that want us out of the Iraq war are not only cowards, they are traitors and accomplices to the next Al Queda attack. Ken Clifton christiansuperhero.com Quote

There's the lie in all this. Al-Qaeda in Iraq DIDN'T EXIST in 2001. It had NOTHING to do with ANY events before 2003. It was formed as a DIRECT RESPONSE to the ill-founded, ill-planned, ill-executed invasion by the US. This is yet another lying conflation of Iraq with the events of Sept. 11 2001. You're a base liar for even trying this. The people putting the US in danger are those in the administration that planned and led the invasion, idiot. > Knowing this, it is no longer in question. No, those traitors and cowards would be those who provided the impetus and motivation for the formation of YET ANOTHER terrorist group bent on attacking the US. Quote

Their planned attack on US soil is coming from Iraq. They wouldn't be able to do that had we not screwed up and let Iraq get so out of control that it is now a training base for al Queda. Of course, had we never invaded Iraq we would be much safer today. >Now, you can object to the origins of the war all you want, but we NOW >have evidence that the terrorists that attacked us on 9-11 WILL attack >us again if we don't stop them, and the base for that attack plan and >preparation is Iraq. And, if we intend to stop this >attack, we would HAVE to attack them...guess where...Iraq. Sorry but the damage is already done. Getting more American soldiers killed is not going to improve the situation. We don't have the troops to pacify Baghdad let alone the entire Country. The "al Queda" walk ins from Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran are just cannon fodder and not a real threat to the U.S. The few al Queda who are really dangerous to the U.S. are likely already out of the Country, trained and battle hardened. We can thank Bush and the neo-cons for putting us in greater danger. >Those that want us out of the Iraq war are not only cowards, they are >traitors and accomplices to the next Al Queda attack. You just don't get it. The Shiite militias, their army we are building up and aid from Iran would make short shrift of the Sunni, "al Queda", insurgents after we leave. It may well come close to genocide but they are the 'enemy' after all:-( The Shiites will probably act a lot like Saddam but then paybacks are a bitch. Tom Quote

Actually, it doesn't say that with anything like the degree of uncertainty you imply. In any event, it's too bad we didn't continue our pursuit of Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan in the first place, instead of diverting the greatest part of our military on a mission to destabilize Iraq, with the resulting chaos providing an a whole smorgasboard of opportunity for foreign adventurism. Or, as I myself said nearly three years ago on another froup: Bush, in invading Iraq, could not have done the terrorists' recruitment a greater favor if he had personally gone about the Middle East tacking up "Uncle Osama Wants You!" posters. -- cary Quote

Our presence in Iraq is not appreciated, and we are at greater risk now of terrorism than we were prior to 9/11. Put that in your crack pipe and smoke it, you goddamn republitards! Quote
