Military Report: Bush Opposes Military Raise

George W. Bush flies about the country almost daily demanding that we

support the troops. Yet his administration's record for so doing is

dismal. Today's headline (above) and story at military.com documents

the most nearly recent example of the administration's willingness to

sell our troops short.

Add to that the the administration's demand that wounded soldiers pay

for their hospital meals and the neglect of the wounded even at the

Army's Walter Reed Hospital for the benefit of civilian contractor

cronies. Worse, there was the attempt to invade Iraq on the cheap,

with no provision for adequate forces to stabilize the country nor for

proper armor and vehicles for the job.

Who supports our troops?

Your link doesn't work, but so far as I can recall, the

administration has proposed a 3% pay increase but opposes a 3.5%

increase suggested by others.

The answer to that is simple. When our leaders start a war for us to

fight ,they go to the front lines to LEAD the troops. It would of

course have to be a constitutional amendment but hell I'd vote for it.

BUT it is better than what the Liberals offer. IF guys like Teddy

Kennedy ran things, the Air Force would still be flying JN-4's (Jenny's from

World War 1) the army would not have tanks and would still be on horseback

armed with bows and arrows, maybe if lucky some flintlocks.

Name the weapons systems in the past 40 years that Kennedy has voted on.

Abrahms Tank. AGAINST!

' F-16 AGAINST

F-15 Active opposition.

B-1 Stridently opposed. Led two efforts to terminate the program.

F-117 Stealth BITTERLY OPPOSED.

B-2 Voted to terminate the program.

Armored personnel carriers, OPPOSED!

Nuclear submarines - OPPOSED!

Aircraft carriers. OPPOSED!

Missile cruisers. OPPOSED!

Replacing cruise missiles OPPOSED!

Anti Missile defense - BITTERLY OPPOSED.

Yeah as bad as Bush IS = the alternative is FAR worse.

Six years since he took office, four

and half years into his war, bush,jr

can't supply our troops with adequete

vehicles or body armor.

When you have no argument

bring up the past to divert from

the mess.

The weapons you list are

for the most part cold war

weapons that serve no purpose

in Iraq.
