Now that Harry Reid wants an up or down vote on a troop withdrawal bill, the

Republicans are threatening to filibuster the bill.

For just a minute here, let's turn back the hands of time -- let's go back

to the stacks and play a couple of Golden Oldies from the vault -- maybe you

remember these from days gone by:

Sen. Trent Lott (R-MS): "[Filibustering] is wrong. It

Yep, what goes around comes around. Oh, so your point is Republicans

are as hypocritical as DemocRATs? You're right.

Not at all.

As usual you got it wrong.

In the case where Democrats threatened filibuster

on bush,jr's court appointments they stood up and

made their position loud and clear.

In this case Republicans do not want to get on

record regarding their position on the war.

???????????

I see no democrats bellowing about abolishing filibustering just because the

republicans want to use it.

The Repugs want to have their cake and eat it too. What a bunch

of whiners.. "well, it wasn't ok for the dems to do it, but now

you're expecting us to do it."

They don't even make any sense, the whiners.

Republicans refuse to vote to support the war.

They are cowards.

Getting reelected is all that counts for them.

Staying off the record regarding the war is paramount in their minds.

Must be why they keep voting to support it.

They don't.

They know they will face retribution from the voters

if they get on record supporting bush.jr's war.

22 Republicans in the Senate

are up for election in Nov. 2008

If the Dems pick up half of those

seats, eleven, they will have

a filibuster proof majority and

a Democratic president.
