Taliban growing stronger in Afghanistan: report

Luke Baker, Reuters

LONDON (Reuters) -

NATO countries are not giving the international force securing

Afghanistan enough support and there are worrying signs that the

Taliban are growing stronger, a detailed study by Britain's parliament

has found.

The report, by the House of Commons Defence Committee, highlighted a

series of concerns, from a lack of training for Afghan police and

armed forces to an unclear policy on eradicating the country's vast

opium poppy fields.

Somewhere in a cave in the middle east there is a poster of shrub hang on

the wall saying "al-qaeda needs you".
