other civil areas standing double shifts to make both for enlisted men

and increased military production, a sizable number of them actually

took the arms.

 

Most glorified were the Soviet women pilots,[1] but in total over

800,000 women served in the Soviet Armed Forces during the war.[2]

Nearly 200,000 of them decorated and 89 of those women eventually

received the Soviet Union
