Okay for you RoyalOrleans

Elton John Teacher I Need You

I was sitting in the classroom

Trying to look intelligent

In case the teacher looked at me

She was long and she was lean

She's a middle-aged dream

And that lady means the whole world to me

It's a natural achievement

Conquering my homework

With her image pounding in my brain

She's an inspiration

For my graduation

And she helps to keep the classroom sane

Oh teacher I need you like a little child

You got something in you to drive a schoolboy wild

You give me education in the lovesick blues

Help me get straight come out and say

Teacher I, teacher I, teacher I, Teacher I need you

I have to write a letter

Tell about my feelings

Just to let her know the scene

Focus my attention

On some further education

In connection with the birdies and the bees

So I'm sitting in the classroom

I'm looking like a zombie

I'm waiting for the bell to ring

I've got John Wayne stances

I've got Erroll Flynn advances

And it doesn't mean a doggoned thing

Off of "Don't shoot me I'm only the piano player". A Very good album.

This reminds me of my english teacher in the 8th grade. She was hot!

I'd Die without you - PM Dawn

Is it my turn to wish you were lying here.

I tend to dream you when I'm not sleeping.

Is it my turn to fictionalize my world.

Or even imagine your emotions. Tell myself anything...

Is it my turn to hold you by your hands.

Tell you I love you and you not hear me...

Is it my turn to totally understand.

To watch you walk out of my life and not do a damn thing...

(Chorus)

If I have to give away...

The feeling that I feel.

If I have to sacrifice...

Oh, whatever babe, whatever baby.

If I have to take apart...

All that I am...

Is there anything that I would not do,

'cause inside I'd die without you...

Yeah baby

'cause inside I'd die without you...

'cause inside I'd die without you...

Oh, I apologize for all the things I've done.

But now I'm underwater and I'm drowning...

Is it my turn to be the one to cry.

Isn't it amazing how some things completely turn around...

So take every little piece of my heart...

Yeah, take every little piece of my soul...

Yeah, take every little bitty piece of my mind...

'Cause if you're gone... inside...

I'd die without you...

That's the way - Led Zeppelin

I don't know how I'm gonna tell you

I can't play with you no more

I don't know how I'm gonna do what mama told me

My friend, the boy next door

I can't believe what people sayin'

"You gonna let your hair hang down

I'm satisfied to sit here working all day long

You're in the darker side of town"

And when I'm out, I see you walkin'

Why don't your eyes see me

And could it be you've found another game to play

What did mama say to me

"That's the way, oh, that's the way it oughta be-hee-hee"

Yeah, yeah

Mama said, "That's the way it oughta stay," yeah, yeah

O-ooh-hoo, hoo-hoo-ooh-ooh

And yesterday I saw you standing by the river

and weren't those tears that filled your eyes

and all the fish that lay in dirty water dyin'

had they gotcha hypnotized

And yesterday I saw you kissing tiny flowers

but all that lives is born to die

and so I say to you that nothing really matters

and all you do is stand and cry

I don't know what to say about it

when all your ears have turned away

but now's the time to look and look again at what you see

Is that the way it oughta stay

"That's the way, that's the way it oughta be-hee"

Whoa, don'tcha know, now

Mama said, mama said, "That's the way it's gonna stay," yeah

Uh, uh, uh, uh-uh-uh, uh, uh, uh, uh

Aaah

My world, my TV, and my food

Besides listening to my belly gurgle

Ain't much else to do

Pants fall down every time I bend over

And my feet itch

Yeah-I married a scarecrow

I hate you

Talking to myself

Everibody's starin' at me

I'm only bleedin'

Someone taps me on the shoulder every 5 minutes

Nobody speaks English anymore

Would anybody tell me I was gettin' stupider?

I hate you

Talking to myself

You don't feel it after awhile

You take the beating

I'm a swingin' guy

And swing - - -

Toss me inside a Hefty

And put me in the ground

I don't

This ones for you Vorty.:D

Hey there, people, I'm Bobby Brown

They say I'm the cutest boy in town

My car is fast, my teeth is shiney

I tell all the girls they can kiss my heinie

Here I am at a famous school

I'm dressin' sharp 'n' I'm

actin' cool

I got a cheerleader here wants to help with my paper

Let her do all the work 'n' maybe later I'll rape her

Oh God I am the American dream

I do not think I'm too extreme

An' I'm a handsome sonofabitch

I'm gonna get a good job 'n' be real rich

get a good

get a good

get a good

get a good job

Women's Liberation

Came creepin' across the nation

I tell you people I was not ready

When I fucked this dyke by the name of Freddie

She made a little speech then,

Aw, she tried to make me say "when"

She had my balls in a vice, but she left the dick

I guess it's still hooked on, but now it shoots too quick

Oh God I am the American dream

But now I smell like Vaseline

An' I'm a miserable sonofabitch

Am I a boy or a lady...I don't know which

I wonder wonder

wonder wonder

So I went out 'n' bought me a leisure suit

I jingle my change, but I'm still kinda cute

Got a job doin' radio promo

An' none of the jocks can even tell I'm a homo

Eventually me 'n' a friend

Sorta drifted along into S&M

I can take about an hour on the tower of power

'Long as I gets a little golden shower

Oh God I am the American dream

With a spindle up my butt till it makes me scream

An' I'll do anything to get ahead

I lay awake nights sayin', "Thank you, Fred!"

Oh God, oh God, I'm so fantastic!

Thanks to Freddie, I'm a sexual spastic

And my name is Bobby Brown

Watch me now, I'm goin down,

And my name is Bobby Brown

Watch me now, I'm goin down, etc.

To no one in particular.......;)

Your So Vain, Carly Simon

You walked into the party like you were walking onto a yacht

Your hat strategically dipped below one eye

Your scarf it was apricot

You had one eye on the mirror as you watched yourself gavotte

And all the girls dreamed that theyd be your partner

Theyd be your partner, and...

Youre so vain, you probably think this song is about you

Youre so vain, Ill bet you think this song is about you

Dont you? dont you?

You had me several years ago when I was still quite naive

Well you said that we made such a pretty pair

And that you would never leave

But you gave away the things you loved and one of them was me

I had some dreams, they were clouds in my coffee

Clouds in my coffee, and...

I had some dreams they were clouds in my coffee

Clouds in my coffee, and...

Well I hear you went up to saratoga and your horse naturally won

Then you flew your lear jet up to nova scotia

To see the total eclipse of the sun

Well youre where you should be all the time

And when youre not youre with

Some underworld spy or the wife of a close friend

Wife of a close friend, and...

The dick has no conscience and the heart has no rational abilities.

Well thank God nobody dissed REO Speedwagon! I had a hard time deciding which song on the hi INfiDELITY album I wanted. The whole album kicks ass! So I picked two.

R.E.O. Speedwagon Keep on loving you

You shouldve seen by the look in my eyes, baby

There was somethin missin

You shouldve known by the tone of my voice, maybe

But you didnt listen

You played dead

But you never bled

Instead you lay still in the grass

All coiled up and hissin

And though I know all about those men

Still I dont remember

Cause it was us baby, way before then

And were still together

And I meant, every word I said

When I said that I love you I meant

That I love you forever

And Im gonna keep on lovin you

Cause its the only thing I wanna do

I dont wanna sleep

I just wanna keep on lovin you

(solo)

And I meant every word I said

When I said that I love you I meant

That I love you forever

(chorus)

R.E.O. Speedwagon I wish you were there

I know a place where you can go.

When youre flyin high or layin low.

And Ive got the time.

Ive got plenty to spare.

Ive got the time, and Ive got the place,

I just wish you were there.

Ive the will to have you around.

Whether youre up, whether youre down.

And I know the way

To make you shine.

Ive got the will, and Ive got the way,

I just wish you were mine.

This a classic and a fun one to memorize. And this is me. Although I can't carry a tune I love music. Music makes my life.

Don McLean American Pie

A long, long time ago...

I can still remember

How that music used to make me smile.

And I knew if I had my chance

That I could make those people dance

And, maybe, they’d be happy for a while.

But february made me shiver

With every paper I’d deliver.

Bad news on the doorstep;

I couldn’t take one more step.

I can’t remember if I cried

When I read about his widowed bride,

But something touched me deep inside

The day the music died.

So bye-bye, miss american pie.

Drove my chevy to the levee,

But the levee was dry.

And them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye

Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.

"this’ll be the day that I die."

Did you write the book of love,

And do you have faith in God above,

If the Bible tells you so?

Do you believe in rock ’n roll,

Can music save your mortal soul,

And can you teach me how to dance real slow?

Well, I know that you’re in love with him

`cause I saw you dancin’ in the gym.

You both kicked off your shoes.

Man, I dig those rhythm and blues.

I was a lonely teenage broncin’ buck

With a pink carnation and a pickup truck,

But I knew I was out of luck

The day the music died.

I started singin’,

"bye-bye, miss american pie."

Drove my chevy to the levee,

But the levee was dry.

Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye

And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.

"this’ll be the day that I die."

Now for ten years we’ve been on our own

And moss grows fat on a rollin’ stone,

But that’s not how it used to be.

When the jester sang for the king and queen,

In a coat he borrowed from james dean

And a voice that came from you and me,

Oh, and while the king was looking down,

The jester stole his thorny crown.

The courtroom was adjourned;

No verdict was returned.

And while lennon read a book of marx,

The quartet practiced in the park,

And we sang dirges in the dark

The day the music died.

We were singing,

"bye-bye, miss american pie."

Drove my chevy to the levee,

But the levee was dry.

Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye

And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.

"this’ll be the day that I die."

Helter skelter in a summer swelter.

The birds flew off with a fallout shelter,

Eight miles high and falling fast.

It landed foul on the grass.

The players tried for a forward pass,

With the jester on the sidelines in a cast.

Now the half-time air was sweet perfume

While the sergeants played a marching tune.

We all got up to dance,

Oh, but we never got the chance!

`cause the players tried to take the field;

The marching band refused to yield.

Do you recall what was revealed

The day the music died?

We started singing,

"bye-bye, miss american pie."

Drove my chevy to the levee,

But the levee was dry.

Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye

And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.

"this’ll be the day that I die."

Oh, and there we were all in one place,

A generation lost in space

With no time left to start again.

So come on: jack be nimble, jack be quick!

Jack flash sat on a candlestick

Cause fire is the devil’s only friend.

Oh, and as I watched him on the stage

My hands were clenched in fists of rage.

No angel born in hell

Could break that satan’s spell.

And as the flames climbed high into the night

To light the sacrificial rite,

I saw satan laughing with delight

The day the music died

He was singing,

"bye-bye, miss american pie."

Drove my chevy to the levee,

But the levee was dry.

Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye

And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.

"this’ll be the day that I die."

I met a girl who sang the blues

And I asked her for some happy news,

But she just smiled and turned away.

I went down to the sacred store

Where I’d heard the music years before,

But the man there said the music wouldn’t play.

And in the streets: the children screamed,

The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.

But not a word was spoken;

The church bells all were broken.

And the three men I admire most:

The father, son, and the holy ghost,

They caught the last train for the coast

The day the music died.

And they were singing,

"bye-bye, miss american pie."

Drove my chevy to the levee,

But the levee was dry.

And them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye

Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die.

"this’ll be the day that I die."

They were singing,

"bye-bye, miss american pie."

Drove my chevy to the levee,

But the levee was dry.

This song reminds me of my teen angst. I really don't know why.

ACDC, with Bonn Scott on the lead vocals.

Jailbreak.

There was a friend of mine on murder

And the judge's gavel fell

Jury found him guilty

Gave him sixteen years in hell

He said I ain't spending my life here

I ain't living alone

Ain't breaking no rocks on the chain gang

I'm breakin' out and headin' home

Gonna make a jailbreak

And I'm lookin' towards the sky

I'm gonna make a jailbreak

Oh, how I wish that I could fly

All in the name of liberty

All in the name of liberty

Got to be free

Jailbreak, let me out of here

Jailbreak, sixteen years

Jailbreak, had more than I can take

Jailbreak, yeah

He said he'd seen his lady being fooled with

By another man

She was down and he was up

He had a gun in his hand

Bullets started flying everywhere

And people started to scream

Big man lying on the ground

With a hole in his body

Where his life had been

But it was -

All in the name of liberty

All in the name of liberty

I got to be free

Jailbreak, jailbreak

I got to break out

Out of here

Heartbeats they were racin'

Freedom he was chasin'

Spotlights, sirens, rifles firing

But he made it out

With a bullet in his back

Persevere,

it pisses people off.

It's like a jungle sometimes

It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

It's like a jungle sometimes

It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

Broken glass everywhere

People pissin' on the stage, you know they just don't care

I can't take the smell, can't take the noise

Got no money to move out, I guess I got no choice

Rats in the front room, roaches in the back

Junkies in the alley with a baseball bat

I tried to get away but I couldn't get far

'cuz a man with a tow truck repossessed my car

Don't push me 'cuz I'm close to the edge

I'm trying not to lose my head

Uh huh ha ha ha

It's like a jungle sometimes

It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

Standin' on the front stoop hangin' out the window

Watchin' all the cars go by, roarin' as the breezes blow

Crazy lady, livin' in a bag

Eatin' outta garbage pails, used to be a fag hag

Said she'll dance the tango, skip the light fandango

A Zircon princess seemed to lost her senses

Down at the peep show watchin' all the creeps

So she can tell her stories to the girls back home

She went to the city and got social security

She had to get a pimp, she couldn't make it on her own

Don't push me 'cuz I'm close to the edge

I'm trying not to lose my head

Uh huh ha ha ha

It's like a jungle sometimes

It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

It's like a jungle sometimes

It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

My brother's doin' fast, on my mother's TV

Says she watches too much, it's just not healthy

"All My Children" in the daytime, "Dallas" at night

Can't even see the game or the Sugar Ray fight

The bill collectors, they ring my phone

and scare my wife when I'm not home

Got a bronk education, double-digit inflation

Can't take the train to the job, there's a strike at the station

Neon King Kong standin' on my back

Can't stop to turn around, broke my sacroiliac

A mid-range migraine, cancered membrane

Sometimes I think I'm goin' insane

I swear I might hijack a plane!

Don't push me 'cuz I'm close to the edge

I'm trying not to lose my head

It's like a jungle sometimes

It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

It's like a jungle sometimes

It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

My son said, Daddy, I don't wanna go to school

'cuz the teacher's a jerk, he must think I'm a fool

And all the kids smoke reefer, I think it'd be cheaper

if I just got a job, learned to be a street sweeper

Or dance to the beat, shuffle my feet

Wear a shirt and tie and run with the creeps

'cuz it's all about money, ain't a damn thing funny

You got to have a con in this land of milk and honey

They pushed that girl in front of the train

Took her to the doctor, sewed her arm on again

Stabbed that man right in his heart

Gave him a transplant for a brand new start

I can't walk through the park 'cuz it's crazy after dark

Keep my hand on my gun 'cuz they got me on the run

I feel like a outlaw, broke my last glass jaw

Hear them say "You want some more?"

Livin' on a see-saw

Don't push me 'cuz I'm close to the edge

I'm trying not to lose my head

Say what?

It's like a jungle sometimes

It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

It's like a jungle sometimes

It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

It's like a jungle sometimes

It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

It's like a jungle sometimes

It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

A child is born with no state of mind

Blind to the ways of mankind

God is smilin' on you but he's frownin' too

Because only God knows what you'll go through

You'll grow in the ghetto livin' second-rate

And your eyes will sing a song called deep hate

The places you play and where you stay

Looks like one great big alleyway

You'll admire all the number-book takers

Thugs, pimps and pushers and the big money-makers

Drivin' big cars, spendin' twenties and tens

And you'll wanna grow up to be just like them, huh

Smugglers, scramblers, burglars, gamblers

Pickpocket peddlers, even panhandlers

You say I'm cool, huh, I'm no fool

But then you wind up droppin' outta high school

Now you're unemployed, all non-void

Walkin' round like you're Pretty Boy Floyd

Turned stick-up kid, but look what you done did

Got sent up for a eight-year bid

Now your manhood is took and you're a Maytag

Spend the next two years as a undercover fag

Bein' used and abused to serve like hell

'til one day, you was found hung dead in the cell

It was plain to see that your life was lost

You was cold and your body swung back and forth

But now your eyes sing the sad, sad song

Of how you lived so fast and died so young so...

Don't push me 'cuz I'm close to the edge

I'm trying not to lose my head

Uh huh huh huh huh

It's like a jungle sometimes

It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

Huh, uh huh huh huh huh

It's like a jungle sometimes

It makes me wonder how I keep from goin' under

Huh, uh huh huh huh huh

Neil Diamond America

Far

We've been travelling far

Without a home

But not without a star

Free

Only want to be free

We huddle close

Hang on to a dream

On the boats and on the planes

They're coming to America

Never looking back again

They're coming to America

Home, don't it seem so far away

Oh, we're travelling light today

In the eye of the storm

In the eye of the storm

Home, to a new and a shiny place

Make our bed, and we'll say our grace

Freedom's light burning warm

Freedom's light burning warm

Everywhere around the world

They're coming to America

Every time that flag's unfurled

They're coming to America

Got a dream to take them there

They're coming to America

Got a dream they've come to share

They're coming to America

They're coming to America

They're coming to America

They're coming to America

They're coming to America

Today, today, today, today, today

My country 'tis of thee

(Today)

Sweet land of liberty

(today)

Of thee I sing

(today)

Of thee I sing

Pepper - The Butthole Surfers (The only song by these guys I have ever, ever liked. In fact, I had never even heard of them until this song was released back in '97-'98)

Marky got with Sharon

And Sharon got Cherese

She was sharing Sharon's outlook

On the topic of disease

Mikey had a facial scar

And Bobby was a racist

They were all in love with dyin'

They were doing it in Texas

Tommy played piano

Like a kid out in the rain

Then he lost his leg in Dallas

He was dancing with a train

They were all in love with dyin'

They were drinking from a fountain

That was pouring like an avalanche

Coming down the mountain

I don't mind the sun sometimes

The images it shows

I can taste you on my lips

And smell you in my clothes

Cinnamon and sugary

And softly spoken lies

You never know just how you look

Through other people's eyes

Some will die in hot pursuit

In fiery auto crashes

Some will die in hot pursuit

While sifting through my ashes

Some will fall in love with life

And drink it from a fountain

That is pouring like an avalanche

Coming down the mountain

I don't mind the sun sometimes

The images it shows

I can taste you on my lips

And smell you in my clothes

Cinnamon and sugary

And softly spoken lies

You never know just how you look

Through other people's eyes

Another Mikey took a knife

While arguing in traffic

Flipper died a natural death

He caught a nasty virus

Then there was the ever-present

Football player rapist

They were all in love with dyin'

They were doing it in Texas

Polly caught a bullet

But it only hit his leg

Well it should have been a better shot

And got him in the head

They were all in love with dyin'

They were drinking from a fountain

That was pouring like an avalanche

Coming down the mountain

I don't mind the sun sometimes

The images it shows

I can taste you on my lips

And smell you in my clothes

In fiery auto crashes

Some will die in hot pursuit

While sifting through my ashes

Some will fall in love with life

And drink it from a fountain

That is pouring like an avalanche

Coming down the mountain

I don't mind the sun sometimes

The images it shows

I can taste you on my lips

And smell you in my clothes

Cinnamon and sugary

And softly spoken lies

You never know just how you look

Through other people's eyes

Another Mikey took a knife

While arguing in traffic

Flipper died a natural death

He caught a nasty virus

Then there was the ever-present

Football player rapist

They were all in love with dyin'

They were doing it in Texas

Polly caught a bullet

But it only hit his leg

Well it should have been a better shot

And got him in the head

They were all in love with dyin'

They were drinking from a fountain

That was pouring like an avalanche

Coming down the mountain

I don't mind the sun sometimes

The images it shows

I can taste you on my lips

And smell you in my clothes

Cinnamon and sugary

And softly spoken lies

You never know just how you look

Through other people's eyes

Damn, I love this song, didn't know who did it, thanks :)

Don't Misunderstand me - Rossington Collins Band

I know where you're goin', 'cause I see where you've been

Don't you know by now, you've gotta take life on the chin

Still you sit and wonder why the past is gone

Baby you'll go under if you don't carry on

Don't misunderstand me

I realize it ain't easy to take,

But you've been hidin', and I've been

Ridin' like the wind just to find you.

I don't need no promises, just tell me the truth.

Mister, keep it honest, that's all I ask of you.

Don't be second guessin', 'bout where you want to be.

Baby, count your blessings 'cause you won't find one like me.

Don't misunderstand me

I realize it ain't easy to take,

But you've been hidin', and I've been

Ridin' like the wind just to find you.

Baby, put your dress on, grab them fancy shoes,

Honey, I'm ready and waiting on you.

Time is surely wastin', we've so much to do.

We're both too smart to be fakin'.

And I know it doesn't matter which road we choose,

Or if it's your way or my way.

Well now lady, let me tell you what we're gonna do,

We're gonna ride every highway.

Don't misunderstand me

I realize it ain't easy to take,

But you've been hidin', and I've been

Ridin' like the wind just to find you.

To find you...to find you...to find you.

Mannish Boy (My favorite song of all time.)

by Muddy Waters

Everythin', everythin', everythin's gonna be alright this mornin'

Ooh yeah, whoaw

Now when I was a young boy, at the age of five

My mother said I was, gonna be the greatest man alive

But now I'm a man, way past 21

Want you to believe me baby,

I had lot's of fun

I'm a man

I spell mmm, aaa child, nnn

That represents man

No B, O child, Y

That mean mannish boy

I'm a man

I'm a full grown man

I'm a man

I'm a natural born lovers man

I'm a man

I'm a rollin' stone

I'm a man

I'm a hoochie coochie man

Sittin' on the outside, just me and my mate

You know I'm made to move you honey,

come up two hours late

Wasn't that a man

I spell mmm, aaa child, nnn

That represents man

No B, O child, Y

That mean mannish boy

I'm a man

I'm a full grown man

Man

I'm a natural born lovers man

Man

I'm a rollin' stone

Man-child

I'm a hoochie coochie man

The line I shoot will never miss

When I make love to a woman,

she can't resist

I think I go down,

to old Kansas Stew

I'm gonna bring back my second cousin,

that little Johnny Cocheroo

All you little girls,

sittin'out at that line

I can make love to you woman,

in five minutes time

Ain't that a man

I spell mmm, aaa child, nnn

That represents man

No B, O child, Y

That mean mannish boy

Man

I'm a full grown man

Man

I'm a natural born lovers man

Man

I'm a rollin' stone

I'm a man-child

I'm a hoochie coochie man

well, well, well, well

hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry

Don't hurt me, don't hurt me child

don't hurt me, don't hurt, don't hurt me child

well, well, well, well

This a classic and a fun one to memorize. And this is me. Although I can't carry a tune I love music. Music makes my life.

Don McLean American Pie

This is one of those songs, in my opinion, that gets more and more excruciating to endure as I get older.

Don McLean had some better music, but wasn't noted for anything other than American Pie.

I hate hate hate that song. It honestly makes my brain explode. Maybe because it was written before my time, or maybe becauase it is just a crappy song, I don't know.

Vicarious by Tool

Eye on the TV

'Cause tragedy thrills me

Whatever flavor it happens to be, like...

"Killed by the husband"

"Drowned by the ocean"

"Shot by his own son"

"She used a poison

in his tea...kissed him goodbye"

That's my kind of story

It's no fun 'til someone dies

Don't look at me like

I am a monster

Frown out your one face

But with the other

Stare like a junkie

Into the TV

Stare like a zombie

While the mother holds her child

Watches them die

Hands to the sky crying,

"Why, oh why?"

Cause I need to watch things die... from a distance

Vicariously I live while the whole world dies

You all need it too, don't lie

Why can't we just admit it?

Why can't we just admit it?

We won't give pause until the blood is flowing

Neither the brave nor bold

Will write as the story's told

We won't give pause until the blood is flowing

I need to watch things die... from a good safe distance

Vicariously I live while the whole world dies

You all feel the same, so...

Why can't we just admit it?

Blood like rain come down

Drum on grave and ground

Part vampire

Part warrior

Carnivore and voyeur

Stare at the transmittal

Sing to the death rattle

La, la, la, la, la, la-la-lie (x4)

Credulous at best

Your desire to believe in

Angels in the hearts of men

Pull your head on out, your head believes it give a listen

Shouldn't have to say it all again

The universe is hostile, so impersonal

Devour to survive... so it is, so it's always been

We all feed on tragedy

Like blood to a vampire

Vicariously I live while the whole world dies

Much better you than I

I mean, the lyrics are timeless... really. They can be applied to any pop-cult icon like a Buddy Holly or a John Lennon or a Kurt Cobain.

The problem I have with the song is the mind-numbing repetitiveness. Where did them good ol' boys go? What were they drinking? What were they driving? What the hell is an American Pie anyways?

Goodbye Stranger

Supertramp

It was an early morning yesterday

I was up before the dawn

And I really have enjoyed my stay

But I must be moving on

Like a king without a castle

Like a queen without a throne

I'm an early morning lover

And I must be moving on

Now I believe in what you say

Is the undisputed truth

But I have to have things my own way

To keep me in my youth

Like a ship without an achor

Like a slave without a chain

Just the thought of those sweet ladies

Sends a shiver through my veins

And I will go on shining

Shining like brand new

I'll never look behind me

My troubles will be few

Goodbye strange it's been nice

Hope you find your paradise

Tried to see your point of view

Hope your dreams will all come true

Goodbye Mary, Goodbye Jane

Will we ever meet again

Feel no sorrow, feel no shame

Come tomorrow, feel no pain

Now some they do and some they don't

And some you just can't tell

And some they will and some they won't

With some it's just as well

You can laugh at my behavior

That'll never bother me

Say the devil is my savior

But I don't pay no heed

And I will go on shining

Shining like brand new

I'll never look behind me

My troubles will be few

Goodbye stranger it's been nice [etc..]

American pie is an excellent song. The sentiment is the world would be shit without music.

Coven One Tin Soldier

Listen children to a story that was written long ago

'Bout a kingdom on a mountain and the valley folk below

On the mountain was a treasure buried deep beneath a stone

And the valley people swore they'd have it for their very own.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend

Do it in the name of heaven, you can justify it in the end

There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgement day

On the bloody morning after, one tin soldier rides away.

So the people of the valley sent a message up the hill

Asking for the buried treasure, tons of gold for which they'd kill

Came an answer from the kingdom "With our brothers we will share,

All the secrets of our mountain, all the riches buried there."

Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend

Do it in the name of heaven, you can justify it in the end

There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgement day

On the bloody morning after, one tin soldier rides away.

Now the valley cried with anger, mount your horses, draw your sword

And they killed the mountain people so they won their just reward

Now they stood beside the treasure on the mountain, dark and red

Turned the stone and looked beneath it "Peace on earth" was all it said.

"You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. That's just insane!" Penn & Teller
