manicmonday Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Everyone here seems to be so in love with Led Zepplin but I honestly could not tell you a single song they sing. Oh Phanny, it would be in your interest to download a few of their songs and expand your bounderies. They are a classic. I didn't think I would like them, and a member got me to listen to them one night and now I'm addicted. Quote The dick has no conscience and the heart has no rational abilities.
phreakwars Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Everyone here seems to be so in love with Led Zepplin but I honestly could not tell you a single song they sing.Sure you could, I bet you would surprise yourself.. for instance... BLACK DOG or perhaps KASHMIR might not sound familiar, even if you read the lyrics, but once you hear the music, you will know the song and kick yourself for not realizing it is Zepplin. Actually, now that I look back, the first lyric I posted in this topic was a Zepplin tune. So, I say whether you know it or not... you can't excape your ZEPPLIN fix. There probably isn't a rock band out today that wasn't influenced by them. . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars
phreakwars Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 And as always, I recommend using mIRC for downloading with AUTOGET installed. Download and listen to the 2 songs, I bet you recognise them. . . Quote https://www.facebook.com/phreakwars

Stairway to Heaven? Led Zeppelin Stairway to Heaven There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold And she's buying a stairway to heaven And when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed With a word she can get what she came for Woe oh oh oh oh oh And she's buying a stairway to heaven There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure And you know sometimes words have two meanings In the tree by the brook there's a songbird who sings Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven Woe oh oh oh oh oh And she's buying a stairway to heaven There's a feeling I get when I look to the west And my spirit is crying for leaving In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees And the voices of those who stand looking Woe oh oh oh oh oh And she's buying a stairway to heaven And it's whispered that soon, if we all call the tune Then the piper will lead us to reason And a new day will dawn for those who stand long And the forest will echo with laughter And it makes me wonder If there's a bustle in your hedgerow Don't be alarmed now It's just a spring clean for the May Queen Yes there are two paths you can go by but in the long run There's still time to change the road you're on Your head is humming and it won't go because you don't know The piper's calling you to join him Dear lady can't you hear the wind blow and did you know Your stairway lies on the whispering wind And as we wind on down the road Our shadows taller than our souls There walks a lady we all know Who shines white light and wants to show How everything still turns to gold And if you listen very hard The tune will come to you at last When all are one and one is all To be a rock and not to roll Woe oh oh oh oh oh And she's buying a stairway to heaven There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold And she's buying a stairway to heaven And when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed With a word she can get what she came for And she's buying a stairway to heaven, uh uh uh. RegisteredAndEducated Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Well, I certainly feel like a dumbass now. Yes, I know THAT song. I really had my feelings hurt when I read that you didn't know any Zeppelin... I actually only liked a couple of their songs when i was a kid. I was taken to a concert... Jimmy Page and Robert Plant.... Zoso tour... Davie Jones, the original bassist... and the original drummer's son were performing with them... That was the day that I fell in love with Led Zeppelin... They rock! Go listen to the songs that Phreak recommended and tell me that you don't know them... Everybody knows Kashmir, even puffy diddle chocolate pop knows this song, it's the one he used for his "come with me." He even got Jimmy Page to play the guitar... And Black Dog is a staple... Quote Intelligent people think... how ignorance must be bliss.... idiots have it so easy, it's not fair... to have to think... WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE TO BE AMONG THOSE FORTUNATE MASSES..... Hey, "Non-believers" I've just got one thing to say to ya... If you're right, then what difference does it make, it wont matter when we're dead anyway... But if I'm right... Well, hey... Ya better be right...

RoyalOrleans Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 I'm going to have to, it seems, so I can see what all the fuss is about! It must be some pretty good stuff. Hope I don't ditch my Beatles! After listening to Zeppelin, you will concur with a minority of people that the Beatles suck-ass. Comparitively speaking, Plant's vocals are far beyond the realm of Lennon's shitheel notions. Jimmy Page can wail on a guitar much better than Georgie-boy. John Paul Jones is the most mimicked bassist... making Paul McCartney a hack. And... Ringo... Ringo knowns three ways to play the drum: tap, tap, followed by a high-hat crash. John Henry Bonham has got his number. As for the Beatles, their earlier stuff like I Want to Hold Your Hand is pretty fucking gay but their music from the late 60's kicks ass. snafu Posted March 24, 2007 Author Posted March 24, 2007 The Beatles were the best band to hit the charts. They were a head of the curve and most of the time, created the curve on every song. I think Why don't we do it in the Road and Number Nine were the only two songs I didn't care for. I can't think of any other Beatle song I didn't like. Into the distance, a ribbon of black Stretched to the point of no turning back A flight of fancy on a windswept field Standing alone my senses reeled A fatal attraction holding me fast, how Can I escape this irresistible grasp? Cant keep my eyes from the circling skies Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, i Ice is forming on the tips of my wings Unheeded warnings, I thought I thought of everything No navigator to guide my way home Unladened, empty and turned to stone A soul in tension thats learning to fly Condition grounded but determined to try Cant keep my eyes from the circling skies Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, i Friction lock - set. Mixture - rich Propellers - fully forward Flaps - set - 10 degrees Engine gauges and suction - check Mixture set to maximum percent - recheck Flight instruments... Altimeters - check both (garbled word) - on Navigation lights - on Strobes - on (to tower): confirm 3-8-echo ready for departure (tower): hello again, this is now 129.4 (to tower): 129.4. its to go. (tower): you may commence your takeoff, winds over 10 knots. (to tower): 3-8-echo Easy on the brakes. take it easy. its gonna roll this time. Just hand the power gradually, and it... Above the planet on a wing and a prayer, My grubby halo, a vapour trail in the empty air, Across the clouds I see my shadow fly Out of the corner of my watering eye A dream unthreatened by the morning light Could blow this soul right through the roof of the night Theres no sensation to compare with this Suspended animation, a state of bliss Cant keep my eyes from the circling skies Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, i Learning to fly, by Pink Floyd(Sans Roger Watters) Quote
