atlantic Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 I'd Die without you - PM Dawn Is it my turn to wish you were lying here. I tend to dream you when I'm not sleeping. Is it my turn to fictionalize my world. Or even imagine your emotions. Tell myself anything... Is it my turn to hold you by your hands. Tell you I love you and you not hear me... Is it my turn to totally understand. To watch you walk out of my life and not do a damn thing... (Chorus) If I have to give away... The feeling that I feel. If I have to sacrifice... Oh, whatever babe, whatever baby. If I have to take apart... All that I am... Is there anything that I would not do, 'cause inside I'd die without you... Yeah baby 'cause inside I'd die without you... 'cause inside I'd die without you... Oh, I apologize for all the things I've done. But now I'm underwater and I'm drowning... Is it my turn to be the one to cry. Isn't it amazing how some things completely turn around... So take every little piece of my heart... Yeah, take every little piece of my soul... Yeah, take every little bitty piece of my mind... 'Cause if you're gone... inside... I'd die without you... Quote Do the right thing!

Youre so vain, you probably think this song is about you Youre so vain, Ill bet you think this song is about you Dont you? dont you? So I picked two. R.E.O. Speedwagon I wish you were there I know a place where you can go. When youre flyin high or layin low. And Ive got the time. Ive got plenty to spare. snafu Posted June 1, 2006 Author Posted June 1, 2006 This a classic and a fun one to memorize. And this is me. Although I can't carry a tune I love music. Music makes my life. Don McLean American Pie A long, long time ago... I can still remember How that music used to make me smile. And I knew if I had my chance That I could make those people dance And, maybe, they’d be happy for a while. But february made me shiver With every paper I’d deliver. Bad news on the doorstep; I couldn’t take one more step. I can’t remember if I cried When I read about his widowed bride, But something touched me deep inside The day the music died. So bye-bye, miss american pie. Drove my chevy to the levee, But the levee was dry. And them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die. "this’ll be the day that I die." Did you write the book of love, And do you have faith in God above, If the Bible tells you so? Do you believe in rock ’n roll, Can music save your mortal soul, And can you teach me how to dance real slow? Well, I know that you’re in love with him `cause I saw you dancin’ in the gym. You both kicked off your shoes. Man, I dig those rhythm and blues. I was a lonely teenage broncin’ buck With a pink carnation and a pickup truck, But I knew I was out of luck The day the music died. I started singin’, "bye-bye, miss american pie." Drove my chevy to the levee, But the levee was dry. Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die. "this’ll be the day that I die." Now for ten years we’ve been on our own And moss grows fat on a rollin’ stone, But that’s not how it used to be. When the jester sang for the king and queen, In a coat he borrowed from james dean And a voice that came from you and me, Oh, and while the king was looking down, The jester stole his thorny crown. The courtroom was adjourned; No verdict was returned. And while lennon read a book of marx, The quartet practiced in the park, And we sang dirges in the dark The day the music died. We were singing, "bye-bye, miss american pie." Drove my chevy to the levee, But the levee was dry. Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die. "this’ll be the day that I die." Helter skelter in a summer swelter. The birds flew off with a fallout shelter, Eight miles high and falling fast. It landed foul on the grass. The players tried for a forward pass, With the jester on the sidelines in a cast. Now the half-time air was sweet perfume While the sergeants played a marching tune. We all got up to dance, Oh, but we never got the chance! `cause the players tried to take the field; The marching band refused to yield. Do you recall what was revealed The day the music died? We started singing, "bye-bye, miss american pie." Drove my chevy to the levee, But the levee was dry. Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die. "this’ll be the day that I die." Oh, and there we were all in one place, A generation lost in space With no time left to start again. So come on: jack be nimble, jack be quick! Jack flash sat on a candlestick Cause fire is the devil’s only friend. Oh, and as I watched him on the stage My hands were clenched in fists of rage. No angel born in hell Could break that satan’s spell. And as the flames climbed high into the night To light the sacrificial rite, I saw satan laughing with delight The day the music died He was singing, "bye-bye, miss american pie." Drove my chevy to the levee, But the levee was dry. Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye And singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die. "this’ll be the day that I die." I met a girl who sang the blues And I asked her for some happy news, But she just smiled and turned away. I went down to the sacred store Where I’d heard the music years before, But the man there said the music wouldn’t play. And in the streets: the children screamed, The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed. But not a word was spoken; The church bells all were broken. And the three men I admire most: The father, son, and the holy ghost, They caught the last train for the coast The day the music died. And they were singing, "bye-bye, miss american pie." Drove my chevy to the levee, But the levee was dry. And them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die. "this’ll be the day that I die." They were singing, "bye-bye, miss american pie." Drove my chevy to the levee, But the levee was dry. Them good old boys were drinkin’ whiskey and rye Singin’, "this’ll be the day that I die." Don McLean had some better music, but wasn't noted for anything other than American Pie. Quote To be the Man, you've got to beat the Man. - Ric Flair Everybody knows I'm known for dropping science.

Maybe because it was written before my time, or maybe becauase it is just a crappy song, I don't know. Quote The dick has no conscience and the heart has no rational abilities.
Quarky1.0 Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 Vicarious by Tool Eye on the TV 'Cause tragedy thrills me Whatever flavor it happens to be, like... "Killed by the husband" "Drowned by the ocean" "Shot by his own son" "She used a poison in his tea...kissed him goodbye" That's my kind of story It's no fun 'til someone dies Don't look at me like I am a monster Frown out your one face But with the other Stare like a junkie Into the TV Stare like a zombie While the mother holds her child Watches them die Hands to the sky crying, "Why, oh why?" Cause I need to watch things die... from a distance Vicariously I live while the whole world dies You all need it too, don't lie Why can't we just admit it? Why can't we just admit it? We won't give pause until the blood is flowing Neither the brave nor bold Will write as the story's told We won't give pause until the blood is flowing I need to watch things die... from a good safe distance Vicariously I live while the whole world dies You all feel the same, so... Why can't we just admit it? Blood like rain come down Drum on grave and ground Part vampire Part warrior Carnivore and voyeur Stare at the transmittal Sing to the death rattle La, la, la, la, la, la-la-lie (x4) Credulous at best Your desire to believe in Angels in the hearts of men Pull your head on out, your head believes it give a listen Shouldn't have to say it all again The universe is hostile, so impersonal Devour to survive... so it is, so it's always been We all feed on tragedy Like blood to a vampire Vicariously I live while the whole world dies Much better you than I Quote
RoyalOrleans Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 I hate hate hate that song. It honestly makes my brain explode. Maybe because it was written before my time, or maybe becauase it is just a crappy song, I don't know. I mean, the lyrics are timeless... really. They can be applied to any pop-cult icon like a Buddy Holly or a John Lennon or a Kurt Cobain. The problem I have with the song is the mind-numbing repetitiveness. Where did them good ol' boys go? What were they drinking? What were they driving? What the hell is an American Pie anyways? Quote To be the Man, you've got to beat the Man. - Ric Flair Everybody knows I'm known for dropping science.
scout Posted June 5, 2006 Posted June 5, 2006 Goodbye Stranger Supertramp It was an early morning yesterday I was up before the dawn And I really have enjoyed my stay But I must be moving on Like a king without a castle Like a queen without a throne I'm an early morning lover And I must be moving on Now I believe in what you say Is the undisputed truth But I have to have things my own way To keep me in my youth Like a ship without an achor Like a slave without a chain Just the thought of those sweet ladies Sends a shiver through my veins And I will go on shining Shining like brand new I'll never look behind me My troubles will be few Goodbye strange it's been nice Hope you find your paradise Tried to see your point of view Hope your dreams will all come true Goodbye Mary, Goodbye Jane Will we ever meet again Feel no sorrow, feel no shame Come tomorrow, feel no pain Now some they do and some they don't And some you just can't tell And some they will and some they won't With some it's just as well You can laugh at my behavior That'll never bother me Say the devil is my savior But I don't pay no heed And I will go on shining Shining like brand new I'll never look behind me My troubles will be few Goodbye stranger it's been nice [etc..] Love that song! American pie is an excellent song. The sentiment is the world would be shit without music. next... Coven One Tin Soldier Listen children to a story that was written long ago 'Bout a kingdom on a mountain and the valley folk below On the mountain was a treasure buried deep beneath a stone And the valley people swore they'd have it for their very own. Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend Do it in the name of heaven, you can justify it in the end There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgement day On the bloody morning after, one tin soldier rides away. So the people of the valley sent a message up the hill Asking for the buried treasure, tons of gold for which they'd kill Came an answer from the kingdom "With our brothers we will share, All the secrets of our mountain, all the riches buried there." Go ahead and hate your neighbor, go ahead and cheat a friend Do it in the name of heaven, you can justify it in the end There won't be any trumpets blowin' come the judgement day On the bloody morning after, one tin soldier rides away. Now the valley cried with anger, mount your horses, draw your sword And they killed the mountain people so they won their just reward Now they stood beside the treasure on the mountain, dark and red Turned the stone and looked beneath it "Peace on earth" was all it said.
