There are plenty of replacements, but the average American voter will not put a revolutionist, a free-thinker, a Darwinist into the office. They fear change for the better and revel in the worse, because it gives them something to gossip about. The term "Darwinist" is often used by creationists in the same way as they use the word "evolutionist", as a term to portray "evolutionary biology" as a doctrine or belief, or to portray "evolutionism" as the same thing as atheism.
