snafu Posted May 12, 2006 Posted May 12, 2006 I'm sorry but once I find out someone is doing something illegal, I don't have contact with them for that very reason...I don't want to be a known associate of someone who is of interest to the police...If you get that kind of notariaty from your association with your cousin then thats your fault. My comment about our phone conversations themselves not being private was only to address the issue that our illusion of privacy is just that, an illusion. You can't even go to the grocery store and get any privacy, our very purchases are tracked, what TV programs you watch are tracked. For me its not the purpose, its the fact they are being tracked at all. I once had someone I was speaking to (that I had just been introduced to) repeat back an entire conversation I had over a cordless phone, she had a scanner and picked up the conversation and remembered it because I have a strange name. Shit were being watched writing this down. Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. That's just insane!" Penn & Teller NEVER FORGOTTEN

jokersarewild Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Well I guess we need to keep an eye on you to then. Has the CIA come knocking on your door yet? You sound like the black folk saying the man is keeping you down. What do you propose to do to protect us from another 9/11? What Quote RoyalOrleans is my real dad!
snafu Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 You don't stop them by tapping their calls. You stop them from having good intelligence, not going around to "suspected" peoples houses and listening in on their phone conversations. Oh wait, I forgot, terrorists wouldn't use some sort of code when talking on the phone...nooooo, that would mean that they knew that the government spys on them. But hey, continue to be paranoid...and remember: If you don't do (verb), the terrorists win. Even druggies have their own code. Good intelligence IS listening to conversations. That's how they almost got Bin Laden before. listening to his satellite cell phone. And remember Mohammed Jamal Khalifa? http://www.rotten.com/library/bio/crime/terrorists/mohammed-jamal-khalifa/ You don't think tapping his phone saved lives? And if we were on top of shit we could've stoped 9/11. Quote "You can't stop insane people from doing insane things by passing insane laws. That's just insane!" Penn & Teller NEVER FORGOTTEN

Lethalfind Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Irresponsible to speak with a member of my family on the phone ?? . . To associate with someone you know breaks the law...the fact he or she is family makes no difference...as I said it doesn't take much to become a known associate of someone, law enforcement will make the leap that if this relative is breaking the law and you associate with him then you might be doing the same thing. snafu Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 his Iranian of course has ties with OTHER Mid - Eastern people, what if one of them is a suspected terrorist, and has all their calls monitored, and traced, this will cause anybody else to be monitored and traced.. Leading back to my cousin, leading back to ME !!! You don't think that if he has possible ties to terrorist they should just ignore them and you? Man your getting scarier by the minute. I don't think there keeping track of every Islamic person in America. But I could be wrong. Either way I feel safer with them keeping an eye on you. Vortex Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 Thats all good vortex but the president is NOT a gay basher. He doesn't want extra laws for gays and no marriage for gays. He's said this before. He's not God and he can't judge you. So I really don't think you need to run for the boarder. After all there are a lot of gay people with a vote. atlantic Posted May 13, 2006 Posted May 13, 2006 True story: One of my cousins, who I talk to quite often, does drugs.. I don't, he, I am sure, calls another person, who, if I am not mistaken, is Iranian. This Iranian of course has ties with OTHER Mid - Eastern people, what if one of them is a suspected terrorist, and has all thier calls monitored, and traced, this will cause anybody else to be monitored and traced.. Leading back to my cousin, leading back to ME !!! My privacy has just been invaded even though I have broken no law. I am only guilty of using communication lines. You guys are complete fucking idiots who are only letting terrorists win if you allow your security to be dictated by Big brother looking over your shoulder. Just listen to yourselves... What kind of panzy ass pussy talk is that ?? You all basically said "I LIVE IN FEAR, HELP ME OH GOVERNMENT OF MINE, I'LL DO ANYTHING YOU WANT " FUCK THAT !! You want to keep America, you keep your civil liberties free. I can't believe you guys would compare picking up your cell phone/cordless phone signal with a radio shack project kit that a kid can do,to being investigated as a Terrorist no matter WHO you talked to by YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT for the alleged sake of "NATIONAL SECURITY". . .These kinds of investigations have been going on for a long time now, even before 9/11. I once moved to a new place, got a new telephone # that happened to be a "Bad recycled t/n"; turned out the dude that had my # before me was an investor who skipped town with millions; one of his many girlfriends and the FBI filled me in on it; but not after going through hell first. So I really don't care if they listen in, because the reality is you can get mixed up in shit even if you don't know the person; and camping is about the only place I know where you can go without being watched by some camera nowadays anyway. Or your best friend commits insurance fraud, you are just as guilty for having a coffee with her? You are a true moron in every sense of the word. If my daughter took up some kind of illegal activities I wouldn't dis own her, I would turn her over to the police and provide what evidence I could to see that she was incarcerated so she could be held responsible for her crimes and then once she had served her sentence I would see to it that she got treatment...The first REAL problem with people who break the law is that they were never taught to be responsible for their actions and NO I would not allow my daughter to get away with something like that should I fail my attempts at raising her as a honest, contributing member of society. The best place for her would be jail. She would be safer there then on the street dealing drugs. AND if something she did resulted in the death of another AND I had done nothing to stop her illegal activities, I would feel morally responsible...
