I suppose I am old school and then some when it comes to telephones.

I have a phone in my home for MY convenience - no one else's.

It is not here for telemarketers of any kind. Especially not for those automated messages asking you to call them. For 3 or so months I've been getting these messages from LDG Financial Services, whoever they are, I have yet been able to find them on-line. When I would call them back to tell them I'm not "Clark" and to take my number out of thier system, they were very rude. Like I was the one harassing them. (Such as, " Why do you keep calling here! I found that amusing as it was I that was being unable to find out why they kept calling me.) After 5 or 6 calls to them for each time they called me, I would be told I am not in their system and they would see that my number was taken out of their computer. It happened again today. Ahh.

The phone company will sell me a service to block the call for $3.95 a month. Or they will change my number. That is the only recourse I have. Period. Can't complain to the BBB or the FCC because they don't take complaints on harrassing phone calls. No one does.

That sucks. Someone is harassing me and I'm the one that pays for it. Jackasses.

Then there is call waiting. Fuck that. If you think I'm that boring don't call me or pay the phone company to block my call! But then you really won't have to do that, after a couple of cut offs I won't be calling you anymore.

I just use the CALL BLOCK service when I get those types of calls. I've had that shit happen to me too. The fuckers call up because like allegedly I owe a bill for something.. I ask them "WHAT BILL" they check the fucking records, and NOTHING is there.

So I do a quick credit check on myself for any past due accounts and such, to see if maybe there is an odd chance I do have a bill somewhere and the only thing I see on my credit score is on time payments to all my credtors/credit cards with 0 late payments.

The fuckers call again with an automated message, this time using another number from the same area code and prefix.. This time telling me I (Or at least my phone # anyway) owe DirecTV like $50..

MAN did I have to fucking laugh...

HEY MORONS... I HAVE NEVER SUBSCRIBED TO DIRECTV I AM ON DISH NETWORK, STICK YOUR FUCKING BILL UP YOUR ASS AND CHECK THE NUMBER AGAIN, otherwise, take me off your fucking automated call list.

I’m quite nice to telemarketers. Before I cut them off and slam the phone down I say "fuck you no thanks!"

Phreak you've hit it on the nose. Except with me they couldn't find my name any where.

Back in the day the phone company used to have you keep a record for a period of time and trace the phone number that the calls were coming from.

Next time this happens I'll call them back and let the cocky bastards talk to my new air horn. Jackasses.

I just hang up. I got a call from a telemarketer last week. It was on my cell phone, and from a strange area code. So since it was 830 at night, I thought it was my brother calling from Iraq-I answered the phone, heard the abnoxious, perky voice on the other end, and hung up on that bitch. I was so fucking mad.

It won't do any good calling them back; they are more than likely calling from a call center (whether it be boiler room or not) the fact is, you'll probably get put into a cue and wait forever until maybe, just maybe someone will answer and it won't be the same asshole that called you. You should register on the do not call list, there is also one available for cellphones now as well. Best way to avoid, caller id, call block.

I hate Indians who call here from India selling a promotion for BellSouth (Long Distance / DSL provider covering much of the Southeastern United States).

What the fuck?

One Indian guy called here two nights back saying that his name was "Jimmy Smith with BellSouth". I replied, "No, you ain't. Your last name is Patel, I'll wager, live in Bombay, and make thirty cents an hour.".

Once a telemarketer called and my dad answered.

Dad: OH thanks for calling! what's your name?

pause

Dad: Oh. Well Janice, tell ya what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna tell ya to "hold on, I'll be right back." I'm gonna put the phone down. I'm even gonna walk away. But I'm not gonna come back? Cool?

and the man walked off. I love my dad.

I get calls from telemarketers all the time too. Well, I used to. I've taken to asking them questions like "What's your name, baby?" and "What are you wearing?" They don't call here anymore.

I want to report a double murder. If you go one mile east on Columbus Parkway to the public park, you will find kids in a brown car. They were shot with a 9mm Luger. I also killed those kids last year. Good bye

Brooks, I like you. Now get out of here. Go home.

I wholeheartedly agree, I have often said the same thing, I pay my phone bill for my convenience...NOT every ass hole out there trying to eek out a living by harassing people in their homes.

It depends on how bored I am whether I just hang up on them or say something nasty. I have no sympathy for someone who takes that kind of job so I feel no need to be polite. It was their choice to take a job like that and they were STUPID if they don't get where the problem is.

I get alot of calls like this because my resume is on the internet. People translate that since I am looking for part time work in a certain field that they can SELL me a business opportunity. They do their best to cloak what is really going on but I get it pretty quickley.

I am on the do not call list.

I'm quite sure they are calling from a call center. They always answer and speak quite civilly until I don't show up on their screen. At this point I don't care if it's the same one that answers. Seems to me word will get to the right person eventualy..........:D

Reminds me of me...

Phreak: Could you hold on for a moment, I need to get something

Guy on phone: Sure, no problem

Phreak leaves and comes back, guy calls again.

Guy On Phone: You never returned

Phreak: Yes I did, you weren't there when I got back, I told you, I needed to go get something.

Guy On Phone: Did you get what you needed sir ??

Phreak: Yes, The slushy was delicious.

Guy On Phone: Hangs up.

I love telemarketers. I let them go though the whole sales pitch and then I tell them not interested and hang up. One woman called me back and said I was rude to do that. I told her sorry and explained I had a bad day and if she tells me what she is selling again I might be interested. She did and I hung up again. Dumb bitch. I rarely get called by the same company twice. Takes a minute or 2 to listen and hanging up after is satisfying.

LOL, thats funny.

I had a friend in University one time who would start talking gibberish until

the person hung up...

One time I had a guy tell me his last first last name and last name and later in the conversation mentioned the town he lived in (he worked for an insurance company), I found his home phone number and called his fuckin ass at home DURING DINNER TIME, now that was fun.
