  1. Thanks buddy I'll check them out. Hope you're doing well. Eric
  2. Hey guys, went for a ride sunday and a stump with a broken off limb grabbed my right from tire and caused the tie rod to bend. I pulled it back somewhat straight. Surprised how easily they can bend. Looking to upgrade to some better units. What can you recommend that I order? Thank you, Eric
  3. Thanks for the fast reply. LOL Yep twice a week. I go pick up my free supplies on Tuesday and Friday. I live on 800 acres if that helps to explain my frequent oil changes LOL.
  4. I have a pretty sweet thing going for now, when I bought my new 450r I also purchased a service contract. The contract says unlimited oil changes for three years. They give me the supplies to take home and do the work myself as I prefer it that way. I get two quarts of honda 10w40 and filter and crush washers plus 1 quart of transmission oil. I get these supplies twice a week whether I need them or not, I figure I paid for them so why not get my moneys worth, not my fault they said "unlimited". I got to thinking a little. For how hot these 450's seem to run is 10w40 adequate? Do you guys run heavier oil? Thank you for reading. Eric
  5. This sounds like a lot of fun.
  6. Thank you for the good deal on some good used parts. I purchased a heavy duty skid plate and poly case saver and TM Designs chain guide. All bolted right on and work as they should. Very fast shipping and great communication. I greatly appreciate the help you have given me! A+ top notch and thank you for your service! Eric
  7. Update. I changed the oil and filter last night and I am happy to report that I could not find any metal filings at all. There may have been some ultra fine flecks in the oil but they are so small I can't tell. I think I have a good bottom end that is now broke in and ready to go. Thanks to everyone for the comments and the help you all are top notch!
  8. I plan to change the oil after every ride, heck with the maintenance plan I have there is no reason not to.
  9. Yep this dealership is pretty notorious for laziness. So get this, I was looking over my paperwork from when I purchased the bike, I was wrong. It is not two oil changes per month for a year. It is UNLIMITED oil changes for THREE years! Plus the two free major services per year. I have been saving the extra quart of oil, so after three years I should have a small building full of oil to last me a long long time! I will probably change oil and filter this evening and I will update this thread with my findings in this filter change. Thanks!
  10. Thanks for the help. I will switch to the T6 after I get a few more hours on the engine.
  11. I have been interested in the A arms that you mention. I Will probably do all of my suspension upgrades the coming winter. I'll look for the stabilizer you mentioned, that I can use right now. Thanks! Maybe I'll take your advice and go grab a handful of distraction, lol.
  12. WOW! Thanks for posting all of that. I now have a project for tomorrow! Thanks for the parts by the way I can't wait to install them.
  13. This is great info, exactly what I am looking for. I am for sure not racing and not jumping big. Just some rugged trail riding and occasional sand. That is why I was wanting to work on the motor. I think I can adjust my stock suspension to ride decent for me. Any suggestions you have for going about that I am all ears! Thanks.
  14. Hello- I bought a new 2014 TRX450R. I purchased a maintenance plan for 12 months. The plan is suppose to cover engine oil, filter and trans oil changes twice per month and major service twice per year. I have now broke in the engine and have 12 hours of ride time. The dealer told me that I can either bring the bike in for the oil change or they will give me the oils and filter and crush washers to go and I can do it myself. I like a project so I choose to do this work myself. When I went to the dealer to get the supplies they gave me two quarts of engine oil, a filter and a quart of transmission oil and two crush seals. I get home and open the owners manual to the oil change page and I see that the engine should take 0.73 quarts of oil. Why does the dealer give two quarts? Am I missing something? I drained oil and changed filter as the manual says, put the 0.73 qts in and the oil level window says its full after running the engine and then letting it sit the oil level is right at the H mark. I think I have done things correctly and I should be good to go but I am concerned with less than a quart of oil being enough oil for this size engine. One other item of interest, during my oil filter change I decided to inspect the old oil filter. It had one fold that had a good pile of gritty metallic particles with some bright blue ones, like blue locktite. Only saw a couple flecks of gold material. I assume that this is the left over filings from the machining process that did not get properly flushed from the engine block prior to assembly? Thank you for reading.
  15. Okay, can you please take a picture of all of the items together and post it? I'm interested and I would like to see them in detail if possible. Also, would you happen to have a 12 tooth sprocket? Thank you for your time.
