Cindy Sheehan Quits as 'Face' of Anti-War Movement
Tuesday, May 29, 2007

Cindy Sheehan, the "peace mom" who made headlines in 2005 by staging a
marathon protest outside President Bush's Crawford, Texas, ranch, said
Monday that she no longer wants to be seen as a leader of the anti-war
movement.

In a 1,245-word missive entitled "Goodbye Attention Whore" posted on the
liberal DailyKos blog, Sheehan said her campaign to end the war in Iraq had
strained her relationship with her children, cost her a marriage and left
her nearly penniless.

"This is my resignation letter as the 'face' of the American anti-war
movement," Sheehan wrote. "I am going to take whatever I have left and go
home. I am going to go home and be a mother to my surviving children and try
to regain some of what I have lost."

Click here to read Cindy Sheehan's letter on the DailyKos blog:
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/5/28/12530/1525

Sheehan founded the Gold Star Families for Peace after her son, Casey
Sheehan, a 24-year-old Army specialist, was killed in an April 2004 battle
in Baghdad. Sheehan was an outspoken critic of the Bush administration's
policies and was often a target of criticism herself for visiting with
leftist leaders like Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez.

Sheehan, however, said she had become increasingly disillusioned with the
Democratic Party. In an open letter to the Democratic members of Congress on
Saturday, however, she announced that she was leaving the Party because she
believed its leaders had failed to change the country's course in Iraq.

"I was the darling of the so-called left as long as I limited my protests to
George Bush and the Republican Party. Of course, I was slandered and libeled
by the right as a 'tool' of the Democratic Party." Sheehan wrote. "However,
when I started to hold the Democratic Party to the same standards that I
held the Republican Party, support for my cause started to erode and the
'left' started labeling me with the same slurs that the right used."

I suggest you stick to American Idol. You're clearly out of your
leage here trying to converse with the grown-ups.

I tend not to discuss the show. The show sucks.

I'm quite certain that I'm your intellectual superior.
Hell, I'm quite certain that 90% of the people who watch AI are your
intellectual superiors as well.

LOL I guess by writing "quite certain" that pretty much means you're a
mental giant? I'm "quite certain" that if you're posting on any
american idol websites, you're a mental midget.

Oh, and I NEVER have posted to alt.tv.american-idol -- nor have I or

All of that is completely irrelevant to the fact that you aren't very
intelligent.
131?

I watch it because my kid does. It's "family time". The show still
sucks, but it is the highest rated program in the country for a reason
(a LOT of people watch it)

Always do. Especially when I know that someone who claims a 131 IQ is
trying to pass themself off as an intellectual.

I noticed you did not give your own IQ.

I am in the 98th percentile with an IQ of 131. It places me in the
"Very Superior" classification. It also means, if I bothered to, I
could join Mensa.

You really are very ignorant, Mr. Vandar.

Because you haven't done nearly anything that can compare with what I
have? Because being "smart" is not the same as being smart and
creative and having wisdom as well as the ability to use those talents
to help others?

Being "smart" does not mean being knowledgeable as well. I read about
100+ books a year and own about 4,000+ books myself.

Once again, since I suspect you weren't paying attention:

I am in the 98th percentile with an IQ of 131. It places me in the

All the facts and information in THE STAR article were right and
correct -- and positive.

I was also in McLEAN'S magazine, which if you don't know it, is the
Canadian equivalent to TIME or NEWSWEEK. I also mentioned there was
an article about me at BBC Online and that I was interviewed on CBC's
"As It Happen". My interview also resulted in 2 follow-up reports on
"As It Happens" in the following days.

What have you done in your life? Besides have a seemingly stupid kid
who watches "American Idol" with a father who is stupid enough to let
his kid watch a show he claims "sucks" and watches it with him?
After which the father goes and posts and posts and posts to
alt.tv.american-idol on Usenet -- as you did just moments ago,
according to Google.

OH, MY! Also according to Google Groups --

YAWN

One would think that someone trying to claim intellectual superiority
would know how to spell the magazine's name.
It's MACLEANS, genius.

Like posting a moderately above average IQ score on usenet, incorrectly
spelling the Canadian equivalent of TIME, and claiming intellectual
superiority because you were in STAR magazine?

Hmmm... lessee...
When not perusing usenet, what do I do...
I know computers inside and out, up and down, so I tinker with them
often. Whether it's to fix a problem, upgrade, build a new one,
dismantle a component, change an OS setting and see what happens, I
enjoy exploring their limits. "What's this button do?..."
As many here know, I'm a software developer. Specifically, I develop
databases - for anyone in any industry (wink wink) - and the software
applications I use are extremely flexible, so I also enjoy messing
around with that.
Yes, this means that I can go from work to play by clicking "file -
open" within the same application. I know I know, what a boring job.
It
has it's benefits though. I set my own hours, have creative control
over
any product I sell (it looks and acts however the client wants it to,
I
control how it reaches that look and performs that action), and I can
pretty much get up and do anything else whenever I need to. One big
benefit that many in my industry overlook is the knowledge gained by
seeing how others run their business. While NDAs prevent me from
sharing
anything about a client's operations that I may learn in the
development
process, I am able to employ the better methods I've learned in my
own
business. From time to time, this has helped me get leg up on the
competition. FTR, I've done work for Lockheed, Buena Vista
Entertainment
(Disney), the Los Angeles Unified School District, and various mid-
size
and small businesses. I'm currently doing a website for a local
family
I've known for years who run a farm. They deal with beef cattle, so
needless to say I have a freezer full of fresh cut meat. My kid hates
it
when I say "enjoy your burger, I was petting it last week". :)
Away from the desk, I enjoy a good round of golf. Who am I kidding, I
enjoy a bad round of golf too. There's nothing better than standing on
a
tee box on the side of a mountain on a sunny day and looking at the
scenery. NjnTx can tell you about the views up there. I play golf on
her
old stomping grounds (Hudson Valley - Sullivan County).
I also like just taking a drive around wherever and see what the
world
is up to, but I do that much less since my daughter started driving
and
gas prices have skyrocketed. One of those sacrifices I have to make as
a
parent I guess.
On nice days, such as today, I also like taking my dog outside,
turning
on the hose, and letting her attack the stream. She also has a pool
(one
of those hard plastic kiddie pools you can pick up anywhere). She
LOVES
the pool. She'll go nuts with the water while I'm filling it and then
lay down in it when I'm done. It's really funny when she plops down
and
then just flicks out her tongue to get a drink. Talk about lazy.
Anyway, that's what I enjoy doing these days. Now if you'll excuse me,
I
have to get back to work. <file - open> :)

I guess 1700 posts is in conworld "tending to not discuss the show".

I don't know what I find funnier: That Vandar is a complete liar or
that the tool is actually posting on american idol.

You'd be surprised at the discussions that take place in that group...
obviously.
A small sample of current topics are Cindy Sheehan, belief in ghosts,
and Iraq.
The discussions there are FAR more intelligent than any discussion here.

Even though he isn't.

Made a couple of posts today as well, and AI isn't even on any more. Go
figure.

By the way, genius, I'm not posting "on American Idol". I'm posting in a
group named after it. Those posting on American Idol are at the American
Idol website.

Riiiight.
However if you really were as you claim you'd know that IQs
are not reported as a definite number but rather over a range..

Being the Net any-one can (as you did) claim the most impossible
things
