It is expensive but it is not weak. Airbus's new jet is all carbon fiber, Formula 1 cars have been all carbon fiber since the late 80's. It will not bend or dent, but when it goes it is over, catastofic failer. No reason a carbon fiber swing arm would not work. But the cost would not be worth it. To make it strong enough it would weigh as much as an aluminum one. $10,000 easy for a one off. X2 most modern airplane parts are made of composites when i went to school for airframe and powerplant we had to make all kinds of aerospace parts out of carbon fiber (and aramid)
