Chronic's '13 Build

I picked up some new (to me) Fasst Flexx bars!

I have a reoccuring wrist injury from playing box lacrosse as a kid/youth. I had my wrist blow out once last year and it's not pretty so hopefully this can prevent or reduce the shock on my wrists if I case or overshoot and land flat.

And they have a baddass pick bar pad :lhdevil:

I'm gonna buy a rebuild kit for them and maybe a new pad.. MAYBE

180 shipped! That's the best price I've seen around in a while

It'll cost me 20 bucks to rebuild them but 200 for fresh bars is decent, I thought anyway.

I see quite a few sets going for 250+ used lol

That's a good deal for sure.. The CHEAPEST Ive seen is $175 and that was only twice now. I tried to pic up 2 sets for $300 but couldn't pull it off... I was going to try and sell one them for $250 lol. Saw a broken set on ebay the other day, I emailed Flexx for replacement parts but the auction ended and I still haven't heard from Flexx... I think they went for $50 bucks but needed bushings, a pin and one of the bars was broken off.

I want to know if the hype is all its supposed to be..

You probably could have picked up that wrecked set and been back with a full rebuild for about 150-190 total for sure, not an overly bad deal either more of a pain in the *** ordering parts for them.

I'm intrigued as well, I've seen all the reviews and was close to getting the Precision Clamps (as they are about the same price as used Flexx Bars) but I think the ability to flex independently will be good for my wrist..

Here's the Xray i had done; you can see the calcium deposits that are imbedded in my wruist muscles.. one wrong move and 'snap' my wrist feels freshly sprained again

I've bruised the inside of my knees from the rad too. Somebody should fabricate some sort of shield or guard because this is a common issue with these machines. My yfz's don't do it, but the trx got pretty bad before i repalced the radiator.

Haha Nice! Have you rode the 06+ setup yet? Are you going to run it stock for a bit or step into a rebuild first? Sound's liek you'll have an XC weapon when youre done, looking forward to the build thread! ;)

Haha Yah I may keep the pink Bar Pad, it's pretty badass.. I may add pink tassels or something stupid for a fair race I alway go out and GOON for.. I want a chicken suit or soething too. Last year I wore a full suit, everyone thought I cam straight from a wedding or Funeral hahaha

lol @ the suit.. I think pink tassels will really set it off too!

Yea it should be a nice XC/desert racer when done. I havent gotten a chance to put the 06+ setup on. I coulda put the arm on and the bearings seemed good but I dont trust that junk and wanted new. Im waiting on the parts right now, bought the new chain last week. I need to do a topend, put my HC 2 in, port the head, new carrier (magnum brand), and some other bits and pieces. Slow and steady Ill get it done, biggest thing stopping me is lack of funds. Im trying to sell the 400 but have only one interest party-rest are all scams. Stupid CL.

How goes the quest to get the cash back for the frame?

I'm in the process of buying parts and it is definitely fun haha, just hurts the wallet a bit lol.

I got $155 back today after his payment failed and I called the sheriff back again. 30 minutes later I get an email saying that the $155 has cleared hahaha.. I'm still out another $155 for the other half but at least I can say I was only taken for $155 instead of the full amount.

The guy still hasnt answered my calls or text since April first.

At least you got back something! Ive never been burnt really buying stuff thank ***.

Buying parts hurts the wallet like crazy, $25 bucks cause I wanted an IMS folding shifter lol.. At least i nabbed the MX link for 75 in good shape and the 08 swinger setup for 120.

This was the first time I've been burnt and it surprised me because he's a pretty well known member and has had nothing but positive feedback in the past.. Oh well, he's a POS in my books haha.

That's a score on the MX link, You'll like that setup. I'm thinking about finding a 06+shock and MX link to use on the spare 06+swinger I've got and slap it on the 400ex.. The suspension is so bad comopared to my 450 it only gets ridden once or twice a season lol.

Yea it sucks when your burnt, but it happens. Weird how everyone else had no issues too?

Yea links clean except some scratches/gouges on the bottom but who cares. Im probably gonna drill and tap it and make a guard for it just cause. Still debating what kinda skid to run-I dont like the rotor/sprocket guards b/c the swingarm can still be hit so I was thinking about cutting up a thick PRM one similar to this: http://www.offtopic.forum/uploads/imported/2013/04/IMG_0802001-1.jpg

I like the PRM cutout one for duning, but Id rather chop one up for some better protection. IDK for sure. Wish GTT would make a steel skid for the 450 like the 400, I really liked that setup.

Believe me even with the XC link all plush it still wasnt all that great on the 400, course the stiff 450r fronts didnt help. Riding my buddies stock 06+ setup is better than my 04 450.

I think I'm going to cut my swinger up to fit the link and make the skid work with the rotor guard I have.

If I was going to just run MX I wouldn't care but I plan on banging it through the bush quite a bit. I had fun on the couple of rides last year and there are some XC events that are like 30 minutes from my house which is awesome! Nothing is ever that close haha.

I have a GT steel skid for mine this year and I just ordered the steel rotor gaurd for the wife's bike... I have a sprocket gaurd hanging on the wall too. Maybe I'll run the sprocket/rotor gaurd and put the skid on hers... I don't know, lol.

I destroy aluminum skids up here in the granite state, doesnt help that I run 18" in the woods...

Likes nice Mamito! Im thinking I can cut the same with my mx link.

@Bailey: I like the GTT skid, but man it only covers a small area. Just the carrier and a little but more.

I'm just worried about the rotor and sprocket. The arm is pretty thick and can take a hit. If I wear through it I'll replace the swinger. You can find a used swinger cheaper then a new quality skid... Pick your poison, lol
