Clean or unclean?

Nope, you still need permission regardless of whether or not you've bought it or not. And it does ask registered users Steve.

No you don't, as long as you say you bought the music off iTunes of whatever then they can't do ****.

Surely Apple were clever enough to put in a proof of purchase system in there somewhere though?

I think you're thinking too much about it.

The radio's gunna get 100 listeners max, it's not worth either party's efforts just for a forum like ours.

I'm thinking outside the box, just to make sure it's all kept inside the box, if you know what I mean.

Tyler, think about it this way...

"You used our copyrighted material!"

"No I didn't"

"We have proof!"

"Show me"

*plays audio recording*

"So you mean to tell me that you recorded part of 'my stream,' which I have in no way authorized, and you come to me about copyright claims?"

*mindfucked*

Yeah, personally I was mindfucked, but nevermind. I think I'm taking it out of proportion a little, but it's all just precautionary.

And slapping them with a legality always follows with silence. At that point, you could also be like

"You recorded my live stream? I am reporting your agency to the artists that I support. You're illegally obtaining their content!"

The chances of youtube and live broadcasting users having permission from these artists is next to none. If anything, artists allow it, because it's like free publicity

[warn]Don't double post. You seem highly idiotic when you punish others for a rule you don't even follow

Well I think we've covered the streaming laws there, courtesy of GhostSnyper. :D

I guess it just depends on where the shoutcast is hosted.

As long as people don't have a way to find out that your content isn't illegally downloaded it doesn't matter what music you play, you can just say you purchased it ;D

And it's not like we're going to get 50000 listeners daily sort of thing, so we don't really need to worry about streaming laws with music; although, it would be good to follow them.

I would recommend getting a DJ recording of like

The managers of FailScene radio do not take responsibility for any problems with the next record.

That could get fricken annoying, as long as there's a disclaimer leading onto the player it's fine.

**** adverts.

Audio disclaimers do get rather annoying, and you would have to play them repeatedly through out the show; they are not needed! You just need a clear paragraph stating that the owners of Failscene are not responsible for the content played by the DJs and that there may be explicit language through out the show.

"..and all the songs streamed on FailScene Radio were purchased legally from places like Amazon and iTunes respectively."

You don't have to assure people on that, no radio that I've worked at ever has and we got along just fine :)

Just make sure it mentions that the owners don't control what content the DJs stream and there may be explicit language throughout the show :p
