Corzine 90 mph & no seatbelt

N.J. Governor John Corzine's state trooper chesuffered SUV
was traveling in excess of 90 mph at the time of his accident.
Corzine was not wearing a mandatory seat belt at the time.
The state police officer driving the vehicle hit a guard rail
while attempting to avoid rear ending another vihicle.

Corzine was on his way to an emergency meeting between
radio personality Don Imus and the Rutgers women's
basketball team. Given the emergency nature of the trip,
Corzine and his cheauffer, Trooper Robert Rasinski are
certain to get no more than a very gentle slap on the wrist.

You have a problem with DemocRATs ignoring laws that the rest of us have
to obey? :)

ROTFL. EMERGENCY meeting!!!! Give me a break, that's hardly an
emergency. I'd love to see this go to court and see how they are
going to spin a meeting between halfwits about something of no
consequence as an EMERGENCY.

Tell me you've never had a cop behind you flash his lights to go around you
only to be not answering an emergency???

Troopers need to cover more ground than civilians.

I don't know if this made national news, but this thing just got weirder.
Apparently the driver was getting a text message from a guy who found out
the he( the driver) was messing with his wife.

Only in Jersey.....

Actually, they're saying the sender of the message just came forward
with this to further embarass the drive - but he didn't have a
blackberry or anything like that in the car, so he hadn't received the
email as of the crash.

I have it from very high authority that the Gov's vehicle was not moving
at all at the time of the crash.
They where sitting still going 0 mph while the earth and road beneath
them where spinning by at a speed controlled by the Earth's rotation.

91 on the GSP is just normal for most of us in NJ anyway.
Not like its in NY and you have to pretend to go 50 on a divided limited
access highway.

\I wonder how long it will take this to be the plot of a "Law and Order" or "CSI" episode.

Ninety on the GSP? No. On the Turnpike? Yes.

"Text message."

The Philly papers reported it as such.

Who doesn't have a phone that sends and receives text messages?

I read that it was an email and that without a blackberry the officer
couldn't have gotten it. That could be inaccurate - it could have been
a text message, or even an email to his cell phone, I suppose.
