I hope you are joking. How in the world is not buying gas for one day gonna do anything? Everyone that would need to buy gas on the 3rd would just buy it on the 2nd or the 4th. People still buy gas, companies still make money, and you're still an idiot if you thought this would work.

No, while TONON isn't exactly an idiot (he's special), the point is, if EVERYBODY did this, not just on one particular day of the year, but 1 day every week, then people would conserve more gas, this effect would have a HUGE impact on gas suppliers forcing them to lower there price since there production levels will remain the same, but the demand for oil will lower.

I know it's hard for you to believe that by NOT buying gas on 1 day it could make an impact, but it will..

Sure the logic is that people will just buy it the day before or the day after, which is absolutely correct, but for 24 hours of NOT buying it, there will be a conservation period going on because people will fear the risk of not being able to have it on the particular day they need it.. It is this conservation effect that will lower gas prices. Now if your so **** convinced that this idea WON'T work, PROVE ME WRONG.

conserving gas is different than just buying the same amount of gas on a different day.

Not changing your driving patterns while just avoiding one day of the week to purchase the same amount of gas you would need otherwise will do nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Now carpooling, staying home more, overall using less gas- and everyone in the country doing this- will cause demand to go down, and thus will force suppliers to decrease prices.

Not buying fuel on any one particular day will not affect the oil companies one little bit...They only people it will hurt is the poor retailer,who has no control on the price of oil,but still has to pay his staff and other overheads.

Not to sound like a jerk, really. If 1 third of all Americans(which would be an impossibly large number) actualy did not buy gas on sunday, it would have no effect whatsoever on prices. Prices are set on market lines. Which go from the stock market down to your local BP station. Its a game, that you will not win. We are mass consumers and we will suck on the oil companies **** until it runs dry. So go ahead, don't buy gas on sunday. Petro-chemicals are used to make so many things your mind could barely concieve. If you buy sneakers, you just paid the oil companies. It goes on and on. This would be an excercise in futility.

As a group, Americans would do better to hold their elected officials responsible for getting our economy straight. At this time in our country, oil is our economy.

It would require 'most' Americans to follow suite in this ill-concieved plan for it to even be noticed by the filthy rich ***** that decide how much you pay to fill up your car.
