My favorite horror movie has to be The Exorcist. I just love everything about it. It's so disturbing and scary, and it doesn't need to have some crappy CGI monster crawling around to scare you. The horror comes from the great writing, great acting, and great environment. You could just feel the evil creeping around at that house. Superb  A recent horror movie I absolutely loved was Dead End. I would definitely advise it to you, if you like intelligent horror movies. It makes your skin crawl without ever being gory, or whatever. It's just amazing. You should check it out.
I love horror movies, like probably many of you already know, since I'm always going on and on about that lol Now a days, it's easy to find an horror movie with which I can have fun with (I mean, like a slasher movie, they're a great source of fun to me, but they're failing to be scary or innovative now a days... it's just a one hour and a half long cliché, most of the times, but I can still enjoy them (unless they get really dumb... at that time, I can laugh if I'm with my friends, we make jokes about everything in that kind of movies; but if I'm alone and I'm paying to watch a movie that sucks, I'm generally not too happy lol)), but to find one that genuinely scares you, disturbs you and surprises you is really tough. I think The Ring is one of the best mainstream horror movies to have come out lately, but it spun this urge to re-make loads of japanese horror movies. Those movies are good in their own terms, I say Hollywood should start investing in new ideas instead of constantly remaking foreign movies. Hmm, well, I think I'm getting a little off-topic here, but yeah, The Exorcist is my favorite horror movie
