...but it doesn't apply to forums. With such a limited form of communication, its nearly impossibly to convey 100% of your thoughts.

I think most arguments on forums arn't the product of radically different poin of views but that of mis-understanding.

YOu can't change your tone of voice. YOu can't emphasize. You can use your hands. You can lift your eye brows.

PEople arguing on forums are really just singling out a portion of the posters thoughts.

As for personal insults and retribution for them. As I said before I don't think anyone can really get a real sense of a persons thoughts or sytate of mind. But if you must, use the pm feature.

I had some fights in the beginning, but now i have cleared it all, and I finally manage to control my mood. I try to be friendlier now, and it's givin' me good results

okay, i'm sorta new here, what do you guys mean by the big fight? and we don't need a flame forum, if your really mad at someone on here, talk to someone, tell them why your mad and stuff like that, that's what i do(i'm not mad at anyone, but people say some really funny things on here that quickly become inside jokes at my school) but a flame forum would like, ruin the site, and the harmony...harmony is a funny word

Well, it sounds like to me that you're taking things WAY too seriously. It's just the internet. Really, what's the point of agruing? It's just a waste of time cause you're not going to get anywhere. If yal are bored with the site, make it not boring to you. (and I'm sure there is another way than to make a 'flame room'.) If you're here to make enemies, I think you're at the wrong forum.

But keeping the dialogue going is a good thing. Make people think about what arguing online means. Maybe create some new ideas about how communication on forums differs from in person.

As long as this is on topic and non-repedative, I think its good. Tho, I do think we're nearing the end.
