As the tittle says, I just came back from San felipe, and my wifes cousin locked the engine(no idea how, to be honest).

So its rebuild time for my May race in Rocky Point.

So questions:

What piston to get and compresion? I want to keep it pump fuel.. 91oct

What conecting rod to get?

What cylinder to get? If there more than one brand.... and stock bore btw

And I got everything else covered...

Thanks guys

Piston - Just get a CP pump gas.

Rod - stock is fine for what you want, get a carillo if you want to upgrade, but you'd be just as well buying a new OEM crank.

Cylinder - OEM

Have you torn it down to see what's locked up yet? I'd do that first before you start buying stuff..

Well keep everything oem and get cp 12:5:1 piston from kbmotorsport for 180.....

That's where i'll be getting that cp piston unless there's one (new) with lower price tag.

Well the pistons is shot. The cylinder as well and apparently the crank is locked..

So I guess its time to fully rebuild ...

So new OeM crank assembly and berings, cylinder

JE piston

And PRO X full clucth and CFR 500 springs....

ok update on the brakedown..

appartently i created the problem. since i got the oil cooler and its not measured in the lil window i always over flowed the oil compartment..

apparently i did it so much that it created some heat spots on the engine, and since we did hit it super hard this past week in San Felipe, it didnt hold all the beating we did...

but hey leason learned.. and it shouldnt happen again... ill post pics later of the crank once its out..

I'm confused. :gr_confused: Too much oil in crankcase would increase pressure, resulting in seals to fail. Did you run it low on oil?

and i talked to the Team Alba guys and they said just use 1 full qt in every oil change and thats it for the oil amount... so atleast im happy with resolving one issue...

I've been running a CP 12.5 piston for a couple months and couldn't be any happier with it... But my cylinder and crank were in good shape.

If I was forced to rebuild, I'd be shooting for 510+ cc's at least. That was my original goal when I had the head built, so it's a bit overkill for my current 450cc cruiser.
