yeah building your own would save you tons of money. thats what i did.
I question your ability to build a computer...

Anyhoo...

Angie, it may not be the hard drive. I had a friend that had a laptop that did that...he just had to disk-check it and it worked fine. Blue Screens are software, not hardware(although it is possible something got ****** up and he can't do a **** thing except replace the hardware:eek:

I question YOURS too. My price was the same chipset/graphics for the same amount with more for your money. Your updated version includes a PCI-E 16x Video card..
Now if he wanted to go with a seperate videocard, why in the **** would he want a motherboard with intergrated video ??

I'd switch that board to a socket 939 MSI board with no onboard video instead.

And 2 gigs of memory ?? WHAT THE **** IS THAT ?? I believe 2 gigs is way too much.. and why in the **** would he need XP Pro ?? XP home does just fine for what he will use it for.

But then again.. if you have a bootleg copy.. **** it !!

Yeah I have XP Pro on hard copy so don't worry about that...

INTEGRATED VIDEO SUCKS ***!!

I am buying the ATI Radeon x1600 so I do need a PCI-E 16x port... I believe the 939 MSI board supports AMD X2s?? I could be wrong.

I only need a gig of RAM as I run a lot of photoshop.

To be quite honest with you, if you would rather do a simple upgrade, go with

MSI K8N Neo4-F

POWERCOLOR X1600PRO256MBDDR2

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego

Patriot Signature Series 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM

You'll have one ******* setup that will handle about anything you throw at it all for under $500.. Use the extra money and jazz the ****** up !!

My customers favorite is the NZXT GUARDIAN , it's one of the most kick *** cases I have seen, you should see it LIVE and not in pictures !!

**** dude, all I'm saying is for $800 canadian, you can get some better **** by building one yourself.

**** that intergrated bullshit you were looking at... if you go intergrated, then don't buy a high end CPU.. it's a ******* waste without a good video card .

Edit: before I forget, make sure you have an adequate power supply, and your powersupply supports the 24 pin board, or you will need an adapter.

Ohh ***! I want to build one! I have to many things on my wish list already though. If my computer dies I just might have to do it anyways.

So phreakwars, how much do you charge your customers for building them a kickarse machine? And how much warranty do you offer them with the purchase price?

Tried disk check, tried booting from disk, tried the diagnostics scan. Nothing.

I charge 10% cost markup (Parts + OS licence ), plus $30-50 build fee. If the customer is going to install their own OS, I just charge the build fee.
Usually it will come with the standard 1 year RMA exchange warranty, plus whatever the part manufacturer offers.

I would boot into the recovery console and fix it there. It doesn't sound to me like the hard drive is bad either, you probably either have corrupted data or a missplaced file...

Okay my budget is 1,500-1,600... I was thinking of getting that new case you were talking about and upgrading to AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Dual Core 2.0GHz... Since I can, would you?

I just "UPGRADED" from an FX-51 to an X2 4400+ Chip. If it is in your budget, I would actually go with the same. To me, I see no difference between this and the FX-57 except the price. I have seen quite a few claims of FX-60 performance, but I don't believe in pushing a CPU by overclocking, the long term effects could be devastating to overall system life.

Okay sweet, umm, one more thing, do I want a MOBO that supports DDR2? Or DDR? I don't know much about RAM.
Probably DDR2, since it is becoming the new "black". Just make sure that you don't get DDR2 ram for a DDR board, I believe that it ***** it up, but I'm not sure.

And you should probably get the processor phreak recommended...http://oemexpress.com/Itemdesc.asp?CartId={31522340-6464-46E4-A061-8CE11AE5EF6B}&ic=CPUAMD%2DADA4400&Tp=

And the configuration he recommended, budgetwise. If mine sounds better, you will end up paying about twice what is already there for the processor.

Hm.. Oh well my parents already ordered the new hard drive LOL. I'm not telling them anything......shhh.........

Oh and I believe the error on the screen was 'unmountable boot disk'...maybe unmountable boot volume...something along those lines. And I'll ask Bob if he tried to do....whatever you said.

Oops, forgot about the integrated video. The card I suggested is better than the onboard, though. And he mentioned needing a high end system...

I basically will be playing highly graphical games, web design, and running my own web design company on this computer... I want a 64-Bit PC, with RAM at a high Mhz speed. Anyone, I ask you, please tell me your opinion!
64-Bit PC, High-Graphics games, and a web design company...YEAH, Phreak, XP home would be the best...
