I uploaded an exclusive on behalf of Def Jam College 11/17/2006, Blood Diamonds set to be on Nas' "Hip-Hop is Dead" album. http://www.sendspace.com/file/qnllcj
Yeah, I know they've made up now but I'm sick and tired of people saying how Jay-Z reigns supreme because of his "deeper lyrics" and his affiliation with Linkin Park. Like it or not, it's vice versa when it comes down to real lyricism and hip-hop in general.
Jay-Z speaks of money, hoes, club bangers, and his life as a drug dealer. Nas speaks of condemned foes, loss of friends, and the struggle in life many experience. Jay-Z is to Notorious BIG whereas Nas is to Tupac Shakur.
Nas beat Jay-Z in the Hot97 battle for a reason, folks. And when Nas puts emotion in his lyrics, (i.e. One Mic, song posted above: Blood Diamonds) Jay-Z really has nothing on him.
Bring it.
