I don't know how to exactly put this in words, but as you know, Linkin Park used to tour whenever they could in 2000 and 2001. Ok, LP ended up playing 100s of shows during those 2 years. This is one of the main reasons LP became so popular. They toured ALL THE TIME.
The band members are used to it. LP became known everywhere because they were always touring for Hybrid Theory. This is a reason why the album sold so much....it's because the people knew who the **** they were and had the chance to go see them a lot.
So the answer to your question about why LP tours so much (1 world tour, 2 US tours, and lots of overseas festivals/shows for Meteora), is they think its what they need to do....go back and read what I said. They became known this way and touring is their way of giving to the fans, etc.
Expect at least 3 or 4 tours for the new album.
