Quirks?

Some women have that certain look about them, the "I just smelt ****" look. They wear that mug all the time!
Ha Ha. I call that the 'sour lemon' look.

Here are some more:

When I make chocolate milk for my kids I have to close the spout on the Heresy

I hate group projects. I have to have control of the project. I delegate who does what and then I end up doing most of the jobs myself just incase the others don't do it correctly. During my latest group project I ask my group about me taking the surveys home to organize them so they would be easier to enter into the SPSS program. One of my friends said something to the effect of,

You're probably the same way in the bedroom.
Doggystyle!

Then Missionary!

Then I ride!

****... must be fun living with you.
Actually, I've been avoiding that subject in the fetishes thread

Yeah... that's getting a little too personal. I just like giving you ****, Tori.
I've noticed. It is not hard to do. I give people plenty of ammo. Especially in a thread about neuroses.

I don't really have any quirks in my life because I'm the kind of person who is eternally bothered by other things from my past that simple everyday things in life are nothing to me.

I can let all annoyances go because I've trained myself to do so.

It seems to me, that is so far what all the quirks everyone has had, are based on... annoyances in their life that prevent them from feeling comfortable.

Simple everyday things that needs to be just right to give one order in their chaotic world.

I find it quite amusing that people can be bothered by such little things in life.

You hit the nail on the head phreak. That is why people with OCD live such chaotic lives. Their quirks transcend being a little annoyed to they can't function unless things are done a certain way. I have noticed when I am REALLY stressed i.e. I am not in control of something bad that is effecting my life, I get really bad like this. Its like I can't control the bad thing so I am going to micromanage the **** out of the little details. Its exhausting really. I make a point of doing things wrong sometimes just to demonstrate I can, like NOT folding the towels right, hanging something on the wall crooked.

Another one that came up when I was thinking about packing for my upcoming trip to Texas for Christmas...

I always travel with my own pillows and heating pad. This time I will also be bringing my own feather duvet so I don't freeze my *** off. I hate sleeping under heavy blankets, I prefer how a feather duvet feels, nice and light but still warm.

Because of allergies I often bring my own sheets as well. I am severly allergic to Tide and Era. In fact once you have washed sheets in either of those two types of detergent they are forever defiled. I normally can't replace my sheets with those washed in that because there is still detergent in the mattress pad and or mattress. Consequently I have ended up sleeping in peoples recliners, on the couch etc. with my own sheets. Luckily hotels normally use products that doesn't bother me.

No one can go in my office. Of all of the places in my apartment, the office is my personal safe haven. I have everything arranged just the way I want it, and it drives me crazy if anything in there is out of place. When company comes over, the door gets locked.

All cups, glasses, and soda cans must be on coasters.

No one eats in the sitting room.

Ex's have complained that my apartment is too cold and impersonal, but that is the way I like it. No clutter, stainless steel appliances, and everything in it

When I put my glasses away, they are organized according to size and then acording to set. I have several sets and they must be seperated.

My Mom used to take dishes out of the dishwasher that still had food on them and scratch it off. She would then put it in the cabinet. I was disgusted. Its still dirty!!! Dear *** woman, have you no morals....

My grandmother's dishwasher didn't work all that well when I was growing up. It has made me paranoid. I check dishes front and back before I use them. I hold glasses up to the light, and run my fingers across plates and bowels.

That reminds me of something else. I wash my dishes before I put them in the dishwasher. All of the food must be off before they go in; otherwise the jets just blow the food around in there. One thing I hate about letting Hubby wash dishes is finding food up inside the glasses that was blown there from the plates below. He claims he washes them off before he puts them in, but I think maybe his idea of wash and my idea of wash are two different things.

I spend a fair amount of time working on the road. I always take my own pillow, the hotel beds i can deal with but not the pillows.

On the dish thing my dishwasher does a great job, i just rinse the chunks off then load. But at grandmas she hand washes and the silverware always has leftovers. When we go there the first thing you do is get out the settings for the meal and rewash.

An old phobia has recently resurfaced for me. I have no problem going up stairs, but going down stairs is difficult for me. It probably has to do with my fear of heights. It is worse if there is someone behind me. I have to stop and let them pass. I can not walk down if there is someone behind me, even if there is a reasonable distance between us. The steeper and narrower the stairs, the worse it is. I go up the stairs to class, and down the elevator when I leave.

I do things like that without thinking. Although I do up the elevator and down the stairs. I think my issue is the fear someone will push me.

I have to have at least a sheet on me or I can't sleep. Can't have any body parts hanging over the mattress, a snake may get me. No, never had a snake in the house. Have NO idea where that one comes from. And I usually sharply hesitate a second before going down stairs, as to get my bearings. Quit chewing my finger nails bout 4 years ago..

You can't have anyone behind you going up the stairs, but you don't care about going down? So, you're afraid someone might push you up the stairs, but it is alright if they decide to push you down the stairs. And RO says I'm insane...
