Wilco - "At Least That's What You Said"

I've been listening to a lot of indie alt-country/folk americana lately and so I decided to post a song from Wilco's latest album. Boy this song frickin' rocks and it's packed with a lot of raw emotion. It goes from very quiet and restrained emotion and then it slams you with a blistering and scathing raw emotion out of nowhere. Jeff Tweedy absolutely goes ape-***** on the guitar.

I agree....Blur is great. I didn't care for their last album much' date=' but Blur is a **** good band nonetheless. Shame Graham Coxon left, but I think he might be rejoining them again. Ummmm....your file was not posted as a music file. Can you fix it?[/quote']
Ok i will try to fix it.I think their lat album is not good too...But all the others are great.I heard Grahan is back, but that can be just a rumour

I am resurrecting my thread with this gem of a song. And yes....it's the Bloc Party again. Their debut album is coming out....this year. "Helicopter" is just an example of how practically every band on the radio and mtv just blows......in comparison. This is where the talent is at. In bands like Bloc Party.

Bloc Party - "Helicopter"

Here is a new song that will be coming from the new Doves album that's due out this year as well. I loved their debut album. Disliked their sophmore release (while many others loved it). But with this song, things look optimistic again. It's a fun dancey upbeat pop (*gasp*) tune. And it carries a very nostalgic, but pristine feel to it.

Doves - Black & White Town

Enjoy.

So what do you guys think of the songs I posted? I see people clicking, but not posting thoughts. I don't think it's too much of a bother to reply considering I posted new music for you guys and gals to check out.

:)

I'm resurrecting my very unpopular thread.
Here is a song from Comets On Fire that rocked 2004. It was especially awesome live. Do you think this band can reach the technical proficiency of Linkin Park or Green Day one day?

Without further ado: The Bee And The Cracking Egg

I bet that song is indeed awesome live. I liked it it, some parts of it reminded me of Led Zeppelin songs specially the guitar at some points. Really good.

Yeah it does have a little Zep flavor in some parts I suppose. Glad you enjoyed it. And while I'm at it........here are some more:

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - "Moya"

My last post included some pretty harsh stuff, but here is my update with some not so harsh stuff:

This one comes from the new Doves album that will soon be out. I already posted their single "Black And White Town" earlier in this thread. This whole album, named "Some Cities", is just magnificent and will be one of the best albums of 2005. These three guys put a lot into this record and it feels very cinematic. Without further ado:

Doves - "Snowden"

Bloc Party is coming to the US to tour for their first time here. You can catch them at your local indie theater/bar music scene place. Bloc Party freakin' rocks people! Just in case you didn't get their single, here it is again:

Bloc Party - "Helicopter"

Sonic Youth had quite a year last year and made a lot of end of year lists as usual. They were #4 on my top 75 list of 2004. Here is their single from last year. It's a song with guitarwork so magnificent and lyrics so different from what they normally sing about. And it's only 4 minutes long! Here:

Sonic Youth - "Unmade Bed"

http://s12.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=039S4EK90233G0GX4RE8YRPJ1R

Hood's new album, Outside Closer, is out. And it's nice and wintery-esque unlike their single 'The Lost You'. Here is a track that is dark, but it glistens with glacial beauty:

Hood - "Any Hopeful Thoughts Arrive"

http://s22.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3P9BLV7F6ZQHW1QIALQ7THJR5T

And for you folks that want another more upbeat tune, I'll put a Wrens song up for you. If you like all those gay bands like Good Charlotte, Blink182, Green Day, and all the other terrible punk rock bands being heralded by MTV, then you will probably love this. Well.....considering this band is 100x better than those bands.

Wrens - "Hopeless"

http://s17.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=1CSCN1COH848E29YBQFJ0R87CN

And as an encore, their song "Happy"

http://s30.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=139YC2S4KJ1Z61ZMMHAG0COGVC

That's it folks for now. Hope you enjoy it.

:)

Let's see... I got the 2 Wrens songs, I got the Hood's song, and the Comets on Fire song. Comets on fire song was a good one, but not my cup of tea... I liked the guitars in it. Hood's "Any Hopeful Thoughts Arrive" was very good. It reminded of something, and sounded familiar, but I can't quite put the finger on why that was. I also liked Wrens, but in my opinion they don't sound like Green Day or Blink 182 at all lol but those songs were good. It's always nice to hear new stuff

Awesome, awesome. Let me know what you think about the others. They are truly some great songs. Promise. Some may take 3 or 4 listens to really get used to. Mainly the songs "Moya", "You Don't Know Jesus", "Brulez Suivant Suivantes" because they are pretty aggressive material to the average listener. But songs like "Snowden", "Helicopter", and "Unmade Bed" should jump out at ya.

Thanx for the comments.

PS: Godspeed You! Black Emperor had been given offers my the makers of the football movie "Any Given Sunday" to use the intense huge buildup of their song "Moya" during a really intense part of the movie. And they turned them down. LOL. But they didn't turn down the folks who made the independent movie "28 Days Later" where GY!BE's song "East Hastings" was used in the beginning when he first left the hospital.
