Shout Box?

Just putting my opinions on the table:

One: From what I've exprenced, they're much harder to moderate than the forum itself.

Two: I feel it will take away from the forum. This is the same thing that Chris felt when first installing the chatroom, & for a while, it did. Everyone went in there rather than going on the forum. This will be the same way. Everyone will spend their time in there & not on the forum.

Basically, I'm against it like I was for the chatroom.

At first it might take away, but in the long run it might lead to more non-spam posting, and that is alway a good thing :thumbsup:

I understand your concerns Josh, but I've seen how it works for example on Fort Minor World, and that seems to be working trouble free. And LPF definately doesn't have those black sheep that are over there, so I'd think we'd do okay.

In theory it might, but it wont. I mean it might just a tad but it will sort out the spam from the legit posts since alot of the forums posts are essentially spam motivated. Plus having a shoutbox is just like using an IM its just that you dont have to download anything to get it. Plus the benifets of this shoutbox versus the chatroom is u dont have to go into a whole other section just to get to it...once people are there they dont want to have to leave just to come back and load things up

its an easy way to reply to something and then go check something and go back

the conversation never disappears...plus it unites our members more becuase they can talk more to each other without someone goin HEY STOP SPAMMIN

and i moderate a shoutbox in machineshopspot.com and its fairly easy

The 'black sheep' of a group is someone who doesn't belong. So I'm assuming, at the FM boards everyone gets along fine except these few people, they would be the black sheep.
