So you think she'll get tired of me?

Yeah I guess I could think of something she would like. But she already gets her nails done when she wants and she goes tanning when she wants. She's bought all the flowers for the front yard already and I even put up those rubber guards all the way around for her. Her brother did tell me that she has noticed I'm not so lazy and have been doing things for her. I cleaned the garage out and took a load of **** to the dump too (nothing she would be ****** about me getting rid of;))

She did really well on her diet and I've told her a few times how fantastic she looks. I even told her she way finer than her friend that talked her into this diet in the first place. And she dose. She tells me no, no Amanda’s way cuter but I don’t think so.

Lord knows I'm tring.

take her shopping for a new outfit to show off her new figure... then out to dinner to show her off ;)

And snaf... I'll tell ya one thing that Chris brought home to me one day that melted my heart: pencil shavings. He sharped his carpenter's pencil with a sharpener, rather than a pocket knife, for the first time ever, and he thought I could do something cool with the savings that came out of it. I realized that "he gets me."

Most married couples I know stay together for the kids (if they are underage).

Pretty much everyone in my neighborhood does everything seperately, trips, everyday life, different schedules such as yourself.

They all complain about the other spouse. Seems to me they don't make enough time to do the little things that really matter. Or they are cheating and making excuses for it.

You need the element of surprise. Show up at her lunch with flowers and take her to lunch by a river or somewhere outdoors so you can really talk. Get back to basics. If her lunch is too short, make it dinner.

If you're kids are older and she's still there, you still have hope ;)

No woman gets tired of a truly kind and loving man :D

A nice bouquet of flowers delivered to her at work, with her co-workers looking on, doesn't hurt either. And since you're on opposite shifts, you can make arrangements with the florist to deliver them while you're asleep. Plants are nice, and last longer, but they just don't have that zing that cut flowers do.

Or a note left on her windshield wipers. They could even be hand-picked flowers. It's the thought that matters.

Also, while you're at the picnic, make sure to look her in the eye and apologize for checking out on her so she knows you really mean it.

Communication is key to any relationship. Whether it's physical, or verbal.

Once a man apologizes too he must not slip back into old habits or the relationship is doomed.

Knowing you CB I know you will do the right thing. Now go pack that picnic lunch ;)

Start her car for her, scrape her windows and clean out the drive with your new snowblower.

Right, IWS? ;)

She'll probably think I'm nuts and have me committed if I try any of this is stuff. You guys have to remember we've been married for 16 years. The note on the windshield dose sound like a good idea.

I've already surprised her with a hot meal at 8:30 at night when she got off of work. I had chicken, corn on the cob and kabobs with scalps, shrimp and peppers on them. She didn't know what to think of that. I think she was in shock.

She did thank me and tell me a day later that that was nice of me.

The length of time you've been married shouldn't matter, snaf. After all, what you're trying to do is rekindle that feeling from when you were first married, isn't it?

Yeah it is. It really is. I'm gonna keep working on it. Hopefully this thread will help us all out.

Hopefully you can change her mind on moving to someplace warm. Where is she thinking she wants to go? That could be your biggest hurdle.

If your heart is not into it, and you love Alaska, don't do it.

She's thinking like somewhere in Washington. Maybe Spokane. Her friend is doing the 6 months in Florida and 6 months up here kind of thing. That wouldn't be to bad. I'm willing to try it. I would just have to keep coming back up here.

I hear Washington is beautiful. I have some relatives there now, and my dad lived there along time ago. They all loved it there. Mrs K from the Jungle could tell you about Florida.

Humid vs dry DOES make a difference. At least in dry heat you can dry your body off before getting dressed... but effing hot is just that- effing hot.

Winter isn't bad.... it gets cool in the evenings, the days don't get too hot, and the humidity is bearable.

It's the people here that I find so distasteful. "Southern Hospitality", my left cheek! People are friendlier in Detroit.... and that's saying something! (of course, I have to allow that most of these people are not true southerners; they're mainly transplants from New York & Puerto Rico.)

LOL... So it's not a dry heat? Like that makes a difference.

I was just going to say that. When we went to Disney World the humidity was unbearable! You still felt wet hours after taking your shower. It was so humid you could feel and see it. They must soak up the humidity somehow in the actual Disney World parks because it was more beareable in there, plus you are constantly going into air-conditioned rides, restaurants, stores, etc.

Maybe it has to do with what you did to yourself in the shower, or after the shower.
