The Official YouTube Thread

Ok this thread is going to end individual threads about youtube videos (I reckon this should be made a sticky for future purposes btw mods).

My opinion of YouTube, it wastes my internet speed, unless of course it's music videos that don't appear on my tv like the new Nightwish video...ah..Bye Bye Beautiful or Amaranth...I forget now.
 
Waste of internet space?

Not really, youtube has some really good stuff on it if you know who to look for, I personally like 'That Guy With Glasses' hes hallarious and his Nostalgic Critic charecter is brilliant. Sure alot of user input is bad but some of its interesting and has spawned of some great charecters and styles, Yahtzee is another fav of mine (despite not having an interest in gaming) I still watch his reviews weekly as they are whitty, sarcastic and the animation style is both cute, original and ****ing halarious in its own right.

On another note youtube is rubbish for music videos as the sound quality is terrible and the busier videos pixelate terribly making colourful and beautiful videos often look clutterd and busy. Of course casual listeners of music or people wanting to check out music should use youtube but myspace is a much better form and if you HAVE to check out a bands music video its often on Yahoos music video service or MTV Overdrive or the bands webpage.

Also Youtube is good to check out movie trailers with and for Bands blogs which otherwise wouldnt be avalible as it would cost too much money, especially with smaller bands. Youtube enabled everyone to have streamable content and when I owned LPC this was a feature that cost me the most bandwidth therefor money to run... and the money made from the site didnt really match the demand streaming media puts on an internet server but of course people with little knowledge of the internet outside of web 2.0 wouldnt know that... so thats probably why your argument is so flawed... its like rapidshare or myspace which enabled fast bandwidth limit free storage and webspace to the masses and although people bitch about them they have changed the way of the web were even running something such as a profile page required many hours of coding, installing and a set fee every month.

Um, because there's another ****ing youtube thread that already has videos in it. And is like, 3 pages long. So, Mr. Moderator, this thread should be closed mercilessly and have the other youtube thread put on a pedistal.
