Why not? Soldiers from other countries wear the U.N. uniform when serving with the U.N. Does the US not benefit from the U.N.?

US soldiers make an oath to the US, to uphold the constitution. Not to fight for the corrupt organization that is the UN. Why should we supply men to the UN to die on some mission that they didn't sign up for and don't want to be there? Why should someone else be allowed to order our troops around and put them in harms way?The US military is not a tool of the UN.

Listen, you need to do a little more reading on our history. The US is a member of the United Nations (whether you think we should be or not), as such when soldiers sign up, they know in advance they can end up being ordered into a UN situation. The UK has the same thing going on with the UN.

The US military and every other country that is part of the UN can be used in this way.

If soldiers don't want to fight for this kind of thing then they shouldn't have enlisted to begin with. At any time the US soldiers can be ordered to go help anyone the US deems necessary to help.

Although I don’t like the fact that they’re making our troops wear the U.N. uniform, they do need order. I have to agree with the judge Merrick B. Garland, that if it was up to juries to decide a lawful order, there could be multiple juries coming to different conclusions on the same order to deploy to a war. That is harmful to National Securiy. And even though I hate the U.N. we have to have a presence in it. (really sucks!) It doesn’t matter what uniform you wear, just as long as your serving your country.

I think Michael New is helping in the fact that hopfully this topic will come to the forefront. Get this into the courts and the eye of the puplic. They should have a volunteer unit for these Peace keeping missions.

its not the serving with the UN thats the problem rather then making soldiers put on UN uniforms and accepting a foreign command that can order the soldiers around without us control. no matter, this baby will take care of it

And this is why taking it to court can help. Hopefully they get this bill passed.

What the **** is the UN without the USA? If you ask me, and you won't, but they should be wearing US uniforms.

I mean, isn't the UN just the United States, Great Britain, and some lost Swedish guys?

If you are part of the UN and doing a mission that involves the support of the UN, then you have to wear the uniform of the UN, or at least the blue cap (what the **** were they thinking? A bright blue cap!). The UN's uniform is identification nothing more, also USA troops and any troops for that matter should be proud to wear the UN colors, not only are they supporting the world comminity, but if someone goes wrong, they can blame the UN.

key word US soldiers, not UN soldiers. They joined the US military, not the UN's. its not so much the uniform as foreign officers getting control of US troops. The bill i mentioned above would take care of it though. But while on the subject, did you know that the UN wants its own 100,000 strong army? better yet they want it paid for, supplied, trained, and maintained by the US.

This is where tax payers need to draw the line. i know i dont wanna be paying for that bullshit.

A joint operation with the world community, then don the uniform.

We benefit from the UN as much as Europe benefited from the United League of Nations... None...

Ah, RO got to it before me. But Skater, before you say **** all to the UN, consider some things. Where are the headquarters? Who does does most of the funding? So really, in essence, the USA is the UN, with some extra baggage like RO pointed out. Think of it as... the USA having alternative uniforms :D It's not like any other countries really contribute.

they take our money but they think they can tell us this and that. The good thing about ahving their headquaters in the US is that we can effectively remove it should the need arise. Again, my biggest proble is foreign officers commanding US troops

Then the US should pull out of the UN. The UN doesn't exist to only accomodate the USA. If 10 countries say Yay to receiving commands and wearing uniforms from something different than their home country, and the US says Nay to it, then majority rules. But don't make this just about America, eh? You might look less pigheaded by saying, "My biggest problem is foreign officers commanding a country's troops." The US is not the only country that would be suffering from this.

Having said that and to conclude, if the USA or soldiers have a problem fighting under a multi-national flag, it's their job to not enlist or be a member state.

The UN is a multi-national entity. When people are a part of the UN, it's like they are no longer part of a country. When you fight for the UN, you are essentially fighting for the world - no longer necessarily for your country. The purpose of being in the UN is to support other countries, human rights, blah blah blah. The concerns shouldn't be all about your domestic country, but for the greater good (yeah, yeah. ideal).

Also, don't take it as me approving of the UN. I'm just saying, suck it up. If the US is in the UN, it better **** well recognize its purpose (as should any country).

Theirs plenty support of pulling out of the UN. Bottom line, the US is a superpower and what we say goes. I didnt see the UN stoping us in iraq becuase they cant do **** to us. The UN is not above us remember that. We dont bow before the UN. This is why i like John Bolton. He thinks that if its not in our interests, then **** it.

I never said the UN had power - the UN doesn't enforce very much. And of course there is plenty of support to leave the UN, ****, there's support for it to not even exist.

What you don't seem to grasp is that what goes up must come down. You talk hot **** now, but some day it's going to really be the rest of the world versus the North americas. I don't think you quite get that it's your type of attitude that begs extremists to bomb their ***** and kill ya'll. People are sick of Americans toeing the line. It's not about being jealous. America has many things to offer, but there are too many royal ****** representing your country to make way for the decent people.

No team, person, or country is a winner forever. Everyone loses at some point. It's almost like that saying adults tell high school kids. "You'l wanna be nice to Joe. He'll be your boss some day." Skater, you ought to pull your head outta your **** and be nice, because someday, someone else is going to be the world's boss, and you can only hope they don't punish people like you for being so blind.

Patriotism is great. Nationalism is.. not.

//edit// To add, I almost prefer not living in the USA superpower. Why? Well, I've got access to everything I could ever want without livin in the USA, I reap the benefits of america's leisure industries, like entertainment, dining, retail, etc. without having to spend as much. I don't have my country sending off as many troops and having more flown home dead. I don't have the world's eye on me laughing at everything my country does. I don't have a lot of the world hating American occupation/world police. My country still reaps the benefits of living so close to the USA that I can travel there for health care that's better, and still have it fully covered and paid for. I can still get my education here, and do placements at ivy league colleges for a much lesser price.

As you can see, the point I'm trying to make is that my country doesn't have to expend as many resources because the USA sets itself up to be used ;) . We approximately are 1/10th of the USA in terms of economy and population, so we are in proportion, and yet, I find myself reaping equal to, or more benefits than the average American.

I re-evaluate america. Thanks!

But anyways, back to the UN.....

I think it's useless :D
