How many of you Americans are suffering with this heat wave?

I'm getting all sorts of dramatic scenes on my CNN link in the land of OZ.

Power outages, peeps dying in their sleep. Is it really that hot?

It's been hot as ****, but I haven't really suffered, I don't have to work in the sweltering heat for very long, but I do get exposed to it.. My car air conditioning is my main cooling system for me.. The only thing that sucks though, is I lose some horsepower when running the A.C. Thus costing me more for gas ... but it's worth it, because otherwise, it's been hot as **** this summer.

Here in Minnesota its been hot for like 4 days..maybe 5....100deg pretty much..and very humid (**** lakes...and **** mosquitos...which should be this stupid states state bird if you ask me)

but of course the weekend I got asked to work more was in that "heat zone". NO big deal, till i was wearing a dress shirt, tie, and pants......

still not that big of deal...but im in a kitchen the entire time. and the hottest day i worked in that sweat hog for 12 hours with only a 20 minute break...course i had to go smoke...where? OUT FRIGGIN SIDE!!!

It was bad....but the rain for the last 2 days cooled things off.....too bad we got an entire months rain in 2 days...and even more than our months average....by zeus!

It's hot but it's summer, and here it always gets hot. **** it will get hotter yet before month end. Two years ago i was working in south east Colo, 115 deg. 30 days in a row, now that was hot. But the locus started singing so the first freeze should be the second week in sept. Then we'll be ******** it's cold, but the bird size mosquito's will be gone. :D

Quite ********, it has been constantly over 110-120 degrees for the past 2 months where I'm at, and at least around 100 degrees since early May.

Of course that doesn't include an additional 20 degrees it feels like when wearing flat jackets, helmets, and all that cool stuff. When it gets down in the 80-90s at night I feel cold. Not that I'm ******** of course. I'd never do that. But it is pretty funny when our local translators start laughing at the news reports coming out of the States about how it's only 90 degrees and everybody is dying off like the end of the world has come.

Heat is relative to humidity, I guess, so 108 is no biggie if it's not so humid. It regularly tops 118 in places I've worked before. Gotta change clothes three times a day at work, or the toes start to rot, among other things.

Reach 54 Degrees Celcius in Ottawa, Canada....

It was hailing a week ago...

There also were tornado warnings all over the city yesterday and a bunch of sirens went off. Don't think any big tornados hit.

I second that notion. I lived in Tuscan fo 9 years and it got hot as **** (105-120). The difference with humidity is like having a heavy blanket wrapped around you in addition to the temperature.

I remember when it rained in Arizona all the kids would go outside to play. Weird. Although kids these days don't go outside much no matter what the weather.
