what do you think will hook better? brand new kenda klaws? or completley smooth as a babies bottom stock tires? i know the stockers are lighter...

i got 4 snows propelling me down the track on dirt. prolly not a good idea on asphalt. its ok ur gettin old and ur eyes arn't wat they used to be 
i just thought i could get an idea cuz the stockers arn't mounted and its a pain. it would be fun doin a breakstand till they're bald tho... GoPro worthy.
thought bald stockers might have an advantage due to surface area. i know they are better on the dyno than new trail tires...

Sorry man, With all the talk of 300' dirt drags lately, I just assumed you were running on dirt and apparently didn't read the thread title to closely. . . . . . . .
I would definitely be running the bald stockers myself.

the bald stock tires will honestly give you decent traction. Knobbies are horrible on asphalt. I've seen guys run bald stock tires in hard pack dirt track too which is close to asphalt. They will be lighter as mentioned and will have more surface area on the pavement depending on how bald they really are.

I ran my hoosiers when I ran my new build down the street just to test it (wanted to make sure it shifted before I went any further with it).. about pooped myself when I got on the gas! I'd say go with the bald stockers.. bigger contact area, just do a good few trial runs to get used to them... they hook up scary..

went with homemade hoosiers. cut all the lugs off and then went and did a few 5th gear WFO burn outs. turned out quite nice actually and i took home the gold in all my classes.

Good on ya! Snap a pic of the tires, I'd be interested in seeing the out come. What kind of compound are they?

heres the homemade hoosiers. started out as junk stock tires. i meant to snap a pick of all the rubber that got cut off. its was A LOT more than i thought. a conservative guess would be 3 pounds. which many claim to be worth 30 pounds of static weight. and thats not counting all the rubber i left out in the road! took me a good 2 hours to make. when doin the burnouts i suggest to rachet the front end down to the ground to make the rear lighter and slightly use the front break to move a little as your burnin em. i stayed in one spot to long and you can see a few grooves from must be a larger rock or high spot in the pavement. forst pick was before one last good burnout. and 2nd is finished product. they also liked low pressure. about 3 pounds or so.

and i was runnin a 4.7-4.8 all day long. much better than my avg on dirt which is about a 5.1 or a 4.9 at my absolute best.

that didnt turn out too bad bigcountrydude. something else you can do is jack the rear of your quad up and have someone hold the throttle in say 2nd gear and hold a grinder or something to the side treads that are left
