back on topic, im related to our mayor and many other people in town that i dont even know. i went out to eat with my grandfather at a local dinner the other day and our waitress, as my grandfather told me, is like my 3rd cousin.

No...but during the teenage years, there IS a rather lot of "in-breeding".

For at least a term or two, the mayor also owned and drove the town's only Taxi.

Pretty funny, that you could get drunk and stay too late at one of the many bars and give a little call, and the Mayor would drive you home!

(his son liked to brag and lord it all about that his dad was M-A-Y-O-R !! ..and naturally he was easily taken down a peg or two by pointing out that the Mayor would also come to your house with but a phone call, and you could hand him twenty bucks, he'd then go on a beer run, and bring back a case of beer and the change.) (I still say this willingness was instrumental in his being elected in the first place)

there was this guy down the street from me a few years ago who had all these signs and garbage in his yard. the signs said keep the f off, private property and stuff like that. the guy threatened to shoot anybody who walked on his property.

We actually had some old ******* shoot and kill one of three boys that were fourwheeling on his property. He didn't call the police or ask them to leave first. They didn't even know he was there. The kid that died was 14 years old. Some people are just crazy. He killed himself the next day.

i think thats legal in texas. its a little extreme though. yea, offroading, there used to be 2 or 3 places in my town to do that but about 5-10 years ago they were all blocked off. good places too, acres and acres.

I know it is legal in most parts of Southern Louisiana, where Hubby is from, to shoot someone who comes on your property for any reason that you feel is threatening. There was a big to-do over a case a few years back where an exchange student looking for a Halloween party got shot.
