What is the deal with palmistry?

Yes I know I'm not suppose to dabble in divination..but

I have a girlfriend(a friend who happens to be a girl=platonic rel)..anyway we having a smoko break and talking in general yawn ...I picked up magazine..and as we were chatting I came across the astrology page..I asked her if she followed astrology and she said"yeah I'm a firm believer that the alignments of planets influence your life" (I agree only on some points and degrees)...so I said "whats your star sign?"She said "Gemini"...so I preceded to read libra instead and her lucky numbers hehehe..I noted her reaction..and she had this really awesome glow on her face "yeah"she said..(hahahaha) I thought to myself ...how gullible can you get? ...I tend to find star signs to general and could apply to anyone..hence the joke/test

Well I sipped on my hot chocolate(call me a tough guy..I hate coffee)..and the conversation turned into other forms of divination.."I know palmistry" she said.."well how good are you?" I said...."very good" she replied...so I said ok what do you see in mine?....she lost her glow immediatey and her face went blank...this kinda made me hesitant in showing my other hand as the lines were just the same...Wha wha What? I said..anyway she said "your lines are very rare...can I look at your other hand?"..at this point I was getting a little annoyed with her..and said "tell me first what you read in this hand first"..she said "ummm You have a great intensity about you..and that your emotions are kept in check and balanced..you have desire to follow things through with a one track mind, very creative" (blah) that was interesting...so whats the negative"ummm I don't know"she said...(great!?! i'm thinking) so now I'm curious...so I show her my other hand..ahhhh "very rare I did'nt expect to run into some one with the simian line" she said...

To cut this crappy story short(she photocopied my hand)...I could'nt wait to finish work and come home and surf the net to find out more about it.

Turns out she was partly right...anyway the negative side of those that possess the simian line depends on the era of the palmistry books that were published ....and then theres the medical side..yes it's rare to have one line in one hand...even more rare to have both.

I'm summarising here..this is the negative medical/sampled/survey side so..

retarded/criminally inclined/drug inclined/religious fanatic...er the list goes on

One saving grace is that Tony blair is reportedly to have simian lines on both hands...in some cultures it's revered..like in Japan(three prime ministers have had the simian line and their are other prominent politicians)

well..simian denotes "monkey"...hahahaha(long story)

So just to let you know folks...I won't be putting my name forward as an extra on the next sequel "planet of the apes" hahahaharofl

Lovely essay. I'll give it a D for distinction.

I was given a deck of tarot cards as a birthday trick from my esoteric sister.

She has software that can pinpoint your birth and the planets in position, and give you a forty page readout.

Back to the cards. I started dabbling, and couldn't get over the accuracy happening. I'm one to read the mundane astrology at the end of the day, so I can bag it out properly.

A neighbour was having trubs, so I gave her a reading. It came up trumps.

She brought her fella over after work, and I have never seen such a depressingly bad card reading ever. Basically, loss of income, loss of mobility, loss of love, loss of station.

He was umimpressed. He said that life had never been rosier, so those cards are full of ****.

The next day, he was caught smoking in the spray-booth, (very dangerous), sacked on the spot. He was late with his car-payments, and they took his car from home. He went to the pub with his paypacket and holiday loading, and blew the lot on the horses. His missus (my neighbour), flipped out and kicked him out. I saw him walking past, crying, holding on to his new puppy.

I went out to see if I could console him. He said that it was all my ******* fault, and those cards are ******* evil.

Whatever. They patched it up. Still together 15 years later.

I still get those cards out for a play. I don't like to read for others.

wow interesting...I would have read something more positive though even if it looked like really bad spread...you never know the mental states of some folks and their reactions...I would even go further..and say to the subjects that they would get a financial windfall..just keep playing lotto...and pay ya poor tarot card reader for his wonderful in$ight hahahaha(ya never know) :)

To this day...I've never had anyone do a tarot card spread...especially the seven.. eerie music :eek:

I do the Celtic cross.

Believe me, I like to offer alternatives to bad spreads. That one was so bad I told him to have another shuffle. He was adamant that the cards were read as they fell. He wanted to prove a point.

I'm the cynic from ****. That deck of cards became so ******* accurate, I boxed them up and sent them back to home base, so I wouldn't be able to get to them.

I think they are under the house here somewhere. I don't read them like I used to.

Impresses the **** out of the Ladies. Party tricks now.

I have little desire to see my own future.

I also know that human will is much stronger than esoteric influence.

er builder I was'nt being sarcastic....deadly serious...Don't tarot card readers..do readings online?...well I thought maybe I could change the style a bit...the M.D.S is my initials...I'm giving complete authority and permission to do my reading...facing "magnetic north" is to ensure balance(long story)..you need to face Northern canada when doing the reading....

Yes the human will is much stronger than the esoteric influence level builder but that really depends on the mental strength of the individual...but thats at the conscious level...it can wreak havoc at the subconscious level...if one does not control it there...thats why witchcraft is powerfull..because of the weakness at this level...and we know what psychosomatic induced paranoia can do don't we?..the mental doorway is the gateway to the spiritual..so faith at this level is paramount...or your belief system will take a serious hit

Don't knock it til' you try it ;)

I'm not a full blown witch, don't get me wrong. But there are some practices I follow, and the few I have tried, have always worked. Haven't delved into divination yet though...I'll have to try it some rainy day.

Oh hiya Angie..umm what philosophy are you following white? green? red?

For every negative spell you cast..I will reverse it..and disarm it..and redirect it back at ya ...I'm quite good at it too..a real natural

I don't "cast" negative spells doofus. I do rituals, and 90% of the time they are to help others. Not myself. Not for someone to be stung by a swarm of bees or fall into a manhole.
