Where'd You Go is confirmed as next Fort Minor single

Market Wire reports that Warner Bros has posted this press release. It says Holly Brook will start a new, small tour of the West Coast in January, and says her album will be released sometime in April. The press release also states that Where'd You Go will be the 3rd Fort Minor single. I hope the video is good! I think FM should have selected a more heavier song for the single, like Right Now or Red to Black. In my opinion, the public will not receive Where'd You Go as well as they would receive a 'heavier' song. Comments?

(Thanks to LPFuse for the heads up!)

NEW YORK, NY -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/04/2006 -- 19-year-old singer/songwriter Holly Brook will embark on mini tour of the West Coast this January in support of the upcoming release of her Machine Shop Recordings debut, "Like Blood Like Honey." The tour will kick off on January 9 in Monterey, hitting San Francisco, Santa Cruz, and ending in Holly's home base of Los Angeles on January 14.

Holly Brook moved to Los Angeles at age 16 to pursue her passion for music. It wasn't long until her demo found its way into the hands of Linkin Park's Brad Delson prompting her signing to the band's record label, Machine Shop Recordings. Her self-produced album was recorded with the help of Jon Ingoldsby (Madonna, Elton John) and is scheduled to be released in April 2006.

Singing practically since birth, Holly preformed professionally for the first time at age 6. She has mastered the piano, acoustic guitar, and the dulcimer. Her vocals are also featured on "Where'd You Go," the third single off Fort Minor's new album "The Rising Tied."

"Like Blood Like Honey" will be released in 2006.

Tour Dates Follow:

January 09 - Monterey Live, Monterey, CA

January 10 - Make-Out Room, San Francisco, CA

January 11 - The Attic, Santa Cruz, CA

January 14 - Tangier, Los Angeles, CA

I agree with you Mark. I don't think it would get as popular as a song like "Red to Black" or "In Stereo". I personally think they should've released "In Stereo", even though it's not my favorite on the album.

They arent gonna win over many rap fans by releasing another pop song.
agreed. Where'd you go is a cool song, but, Mike was saying how he wanted to show the world what a great hip hop/rap artist he is, without Lp, yet he isnt properly demonstrating the heavier, rap songs he has created, instead he is releasing the pop sortta songs. Either In Stereo or Cigarettes would be great songs to release, that would surely win over some fans.

Maybe they didn't choose Right Now, cause they can't have Blackthought on it live, he can't tour all over with them to showcase the song. It's easier to have Holly.

With that said, I would have liked to see Red to black, or just RTN, that's not a single, or at least yet, right?

ok first, why's it always UK and Europe? cause UK's in Europe, and so are Ireland, Iceland, Shetland Islands, etc...

but okay, maybe it's been the single in Aus and Asia, would explain why I haven't heard of it :p

Thanx for the news Mark!!Where would you go?is one ofmy fave tracks from FM,I hope it´s a good vid.

I kinda agree with you all,may be Slip out the back or may be Feel like home could have been his next single, although I think Kenji should have been their next single cuz it´s talks about his dad´s life and stuff.

Btw,I never knew Holly was so young :p ,I always thought she was like 24 or something like that:p lol

I dont think RTN has been a single yet. In my opinion, Mike planned the singles terribly.

He said the US is more rap-like so he put Petrified there and Believe Me in the UK and Asia. Wow. First of all, Petrified sucks major ***. I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but I ******* hate that song. Mike attempts to be gangster and it just doesn't work.....at all.

Believe Me didn't score well overseas. Know why? The song wasn't meant to be a ******* single. Pop songs aren't going to do well now-a-days. I know the song owns greatly, but it didn't need to be a single.

My choices for the FM singles would have been:

United States - Remember the Name, Red to Black

UK/Europe/Asia/Aussie - Petrified, In Stereo

4 singles right there. Red to Black and In Stereo are perfect songs for singles, so why not. RTN my ***. It was the first song we heard. How could it NOT BE A SINGLE? All I have to say here is WOW. I can guarantee the song would have scored big in the USA. I put Petrified in the UK because honestly, I don't know how it would do. If the UK doesn't like Pop, then it would like Petrified maybe. But if they don't, the ***-kicking In Stereo is next for them! The USA would get Red to Black, which would be a pretty good single in my opinion. You could switch it up and have In Stereo in the USA and Red to Black in the UK/etc.

If I had been asked which song I would pick as the next single at this point in time (today), I would say In Stereo. The song is different to me and is great. Other songs I would consider would be Right Now, but Black Thought couldn't go everywhere with them and rap lol. The Hard Way would be pretty **** cool but it's only on the Special Edition, so the **** with that. I think that song is amazing though. Kenna <3

Can't believe how long this rant is going on. Anyways, Where'd You Go, doesn't ******* have potential to be a single. Don't give me this **** saying since Black Thought can't tour, we'll choose Where'd You Go and pull around Mrs. 19 year old Holly. Much love and respect for Holly, but I highly doubt she'll be at all of FMs shows. Bad choice for a single. However, I might be proven wrong if she decides to tag along. Only guests I know of are Little Brother and Demigodz opening the tour at the 1st show, Apathy and Celph Titled at all of the shows, and Bobo in Atlanta.

My bottom line: Petrified sucks, Where'd You Go would be a bad single, and In Stereo should be made into a video.

Sorry if I offended anyone, no harm lol I'm just ranting.
