hoser
Thanks for changing the "New Post's" to include threads that have already been read but not changed since the last visit! It is super nice to have easy access to all the recent posts!
hoser
Unfortunately there is now a problem. As soon as I read a thread with a new post it disappears from the new posts results. So as an example, after I posted this thread, I hit the "What's New?" button and this thread did not show up in the results.

hoser
Me too lol! Also, now when I click on the little "go to first unread post" for a thread, even ones that I have posted in, it just takes me to the very first post of the thread. TRXFLYER
It's easiest just to go to "Quick Links" and then "Today Posts" and it will show read, unread, etc.
hoser
Actually, it is a lot easier to just hit the "What's New?" button since it is on every page. The "Quick Links" is only on the main forum page and to update the list you have to go back to the main forum page to get to the quick links. Sorry, I thought hoser meant when he came back to the site he was having an issue. Your right if you're already in the forum reading and not coming back to the site. My bad. hoser
No problem! I appreciate the suggestion though.
Nathan
That's the way it is supposed to work. If you read a thread it will no longer show up. It was working different previously b/c the forum was not tracking cookies correctly. You liked it better before? 1 Quote Star Citizen Forum | Old School Gamers
hoser
Yes, liked it much better before. It is the way I have seen it work on other forums too when I hit the New Posts button. I want to be able to see all the posts from the last day or so. Many times I read a post, and then come back to it to respond after thinking about it. It is much easier to just scroll down the new posts list then try to remember what forum it was in and track it down that way.

OTMTRX
Bump... can we go back please? Thread still shows but changes color slightly.. I like to read, then come back to stuff... but can never bloody find it!! Really annoying!
ridingred
sounds like a matter of opinion folks, might need to call a vote for this change. i personally like it how it was previously, but i can handle the current setup. hoser
I really wish it would go back to the way it was too, that is the way it is on every other forum I have ever been on. New posts are bold, read posts are not bold but still show up in the "new posts" results. That way, like Stew said, you can come back to a thread if you think of something to add. Now if you want to find a thread that you just read you have to go searching through the forum to find it. That's too much work and makes it harder to add information to a thread. Guest Phantom Z
I have posted a Poll in the lounge so make sure to vote if you want your opinion to count
OTMTRX
Arrggg.. just looked something up for HID thread... now can't find the bloody thread again... stop the disappearing posts... Please! Pretty please.. Pretty please with a fucking cherry if it helps??
hoser
I agree!!!!!! Please, please, please change it. Just try it and see how it goes, I bet many will like it better!
ridingred
once you read it, it dissappears, if somebody posts something new it's back again. This setup is growing on me because i can tell that i"ve already read an entire thread and unless it re appears on the new posts list than there"s nothing new to read> Otherwise you have the same things in your new topic list even when you've read them all already they will still appear. I like the current setup. Quote 05, 13:1 JE, 02 crf cam, full hmf, razr tt tires, rath sway bar, lowering link in the rear, triple rate rebuilds on front. hoser
I understand how it work. But as has been stated many times, I like to read a thread, think about it and then go back to it and post a response. Now after I read a thread and I want to post a response I have to go searching through the forum to find the thread again because it has disappeared and that is just retarded. I have never seen another forum like that and I really, really hate it.
ridingred
Why state it all again than if it's been mentioned many times. I know the mods are taking it all into consideration that's why Phantom started a poll. You should understand that it's a matter of opinion and at this moment they will do what the majority wants. It doesn't help to whine about it, some guys like it, and some of you guys don't. my opinion = I don't like clicking threads that pop up in the new threads thing if i've already read them....I like the way it's currently setup, sometimes it's hard to get away from what you're used too.....after using this setup i now prefer it! ridingred
mostly because i'm awesome, and because you're so dead set on having it your way! this ain't burger king. totally kidding dude, but really don't get offended because i posted my opinion....you've posted your opinion about 10 times between this thread and the poll thread.
