Now I know you libs >arent aware of Pakistan but its got a mighty large military, nukes, and has >declared US forces cannot put one troop on its soil. ..... as I'm sure the US doesn't want Pakistani forces in the US. What's your point? We scream at the Pakistani government for not controlling their borders as if the US is doing a better job. >So even if there were 200,000 troops in Afghanistan vs the 50 thousand that >are currently there then it wouldnt f__king matter. Don't know much about Afghanistan, do you? The central government historically controls only Kabul and a few major cities - the tribal chiefs and warlords control he rest. It's been this way for most of the Afghans history. The same is true to a lesser extent in Pakistan - the tribals areas see little of the central government. So what would you like them to do? >You see why you libs arent trusted on foreign policy? Um, no. Prez Bush is not stupid but he's ignorant. He and his advisors were wrong in every respect when they attacked Iraq. Anyone who knew the history of the area knew that it would come apart at the seams. Picture a coiled spring with Saddam holding down the top. Now release the tension - presto, Iraq. When the Brits ran out of homogenous areas with which to create countries after WWI all the leftovers became Iraq. The administration thought the Iraqis would welcome US occupiers with open arms. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Especially after Bush I urged the Shia to rebel, they did, the US walked, and Saddam came down hard. Folks who live in the Middle East have long memories and this only happened a short while ago. >8 years of Clinton put us in this f__king mess in this first place... Are you serious? I was no fan of the man but right now I'm wistfully recalling the good old days of the 90's. The rest of the country feels the same as Clinton would cream any of the current Repub midgets in an election. Al Qaeda was on the front burner after WTC I - Bush thought that Al Qaeda was the guy at the White House gate who greeted visitors. The current administration is analogous to the barbarians who sacked Rome. WB Yeats Quote
