Depends on your defiition of "religion." Religion as a set of rules that you have to follow, a human leader that guilts you into doing what he wants, and religion as an institution- Yes, it is a waste. Religion as a relationship with the creator of the universe? No way, jose. not a waste.

The true test of free speech is when someone says something you disagree with. Do I think this was the best way to show free speech? No. Should the teacher have been suspended for it? That depends on his fire safety precautions. What he did was disrespctful to the flag and America, sure, but we are talking about Kentucky here (pretty consertative, midwestern and probably very patriotic.) Probably taght those kids more about free speech than any other teacher ever has or will. Isn't that what teachers are supposed to do? Teach?

Shutting down background prcesses is easy: Just use msconfig. Click on your start menu, then click on Run. Type in msconfig in the pop up box and click enter. Click on the Startup tab you will see a lot of programs, and every one of them with a check in the box is running everytime you start your computer. Then go here:http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php and use the search feathure to see what each of the processes are and whether or not you need them. Most you do not need and they just suck up the prescious lifeblood of energy that makes the earth go around. Unselect the ones that you are comfortable with doing without and resart your machine. Click the little box that pops up after restart and all will be good.
