  1. stupid work filters not showing me any pictures....
  2. He's getting a lot of heat for his stance, but who is the government to say what and who a privately owned business can and cannot serve? Government overstepping its boundaries is exactly right. If a restaurant owner doesn't want to serve a certain group of people, that should be his prerogative. If he wants to be a successful restaurant owner, I bet he would serve anyone that came in...
  3. I sure hope Hugo had a proper license for this fishing trip...
  4. Happy birthday!
  5. Hugo's just jealous because Sarah Palin is prettier than he is.
  6. already in the works- Brewer to secure border It is a multi-faceted plan. Secure the border. Make it harder to hire illegals. Send those illegals already here home, or at least make it uncomfortable for them to be here. It's all in the works- and as long as people actually step up and pay attention instead of screaming "racism" every chance they get, it can work.
  7. so you erased him from the thread? LAME. If this is how the debate is gonna go, I'm done...
  8. this potential is ALWAYS there- no matter what law you are trying to enforce or argue against. If you cannot trust your law enforcement officers to do their job right, then this (or any other) law will make no difference in that. Sheriff Dupnick up above apparently cannot trust his deputies to do what is right. That is a shame. Will Americans occasionally be asked for id to prove they are American Citizens? Yes, it will happen. (like I said- it happened to me only yesterday and I was in no way committing a crime or being questioned about one.) Provide a state issued id card of some sort and all should be fine. then carry on with your life.
  9. Officers will not allowed to pull anyone over because they "look illegal." Just like with AZ's current seat belt law- there must be a valid reason to pull someone over or talk to them BEFORE you can question their legality. Cops will not be just walking around bugging every tan skinned individual. as for the "reasonable suspicion" used to asked for further id, a number of things could fall into this category: license plates from out of the country, inability to speak English, lack of proper id (drivers license, insurance, registration,) 16 people crammed into a Kia Sportage, etc. See this post: http://Off Topic Forum.com/topic/29146-arizona-state-senator-responds-to-immigration/page__view__findpost__p__105950 then what are you still griping about???

  11. When I went to vote yesterday I, as a white male, was asked for identification. should I be screaming racism now????
  12. probably because they are the ones that are taking the time to actually read the law... Napalitano speaking of which, Phreak- have YOU actually read the bill? if not, here it is.
  13. umm... how can a law be racist? anyone? anyone? bueller? bueller? If it WASN'T racist, why would it need an amendment saying race can't be used as a factor? anyone? anyone? Did the pre-amendment bill have anything about any specific race? and again, how can a bill (an inanimate object, mind you) be racist? implementation of a law can be racist. interpretation of a law can be racist. but if an officer is going to use this or any other law to be a racist, then he was already a racist to begin with and certainly doesn't need this to pick on the poor minorities.
  14. umm... how can a law be racist? anyone? anyone? bueller? bueller?
  15. just an FYI: Many Arizona sports teams (and some other states too, I believe) donned "Los [insert team name here]" jerseys last season, well before SB 1070 was proposed or passed. It was re-proposed as a support measure for those anti-1070 this year, but it isn't really a new thing. It was stupid for this guy and his friend to get hassled. but if I had my wish (and enough cash) I would have bought $10,000 seats to the Lakers/Suns basketball game last night (in LA) and handed them out (along with one way bus tickets to LA) to any and all illegal immigrants I could find...
  16. yeah, I am sooooooo not a fan of this.
  17. umm... how can a law be racist?

  20. that's why you didn't get my vote...
  21. Sarah is pretty smokin', but that wasn't enough to get me to watch. She should make fun of Mohammad- then people will tune in.
  22. since it terminates a life, I am all for the intrusiveness of an ultrasound before an abortion- and am ok with the gov't putting this restriction on it. I don't really care if it is inconvenient to have to see the baby before it is murdered. again: an abortion is elective, and preventable. Don't like the restrictions? don't have one. Call me names, label me, whatever. But the fact that there is another, innocent, life at stake here make government involvement completely reasonable in my opinion.
  23. I'd prefer Hervé Villechaize dresses. I bet they'd be nice.
