  1. System restore isn't the answer- as the one computer is only a couple months old, and it has done it since it was new, and another has the issue both before and after it was re-formatted. Virus scan isn't it either. One is runnin McAffe, one Norton, and one AVG. and yeah, only one per computer. I haven't had an issue tonight, so maybe turning the mousepad on the laptop took care of it, I read some other forums that think it is an issue with the microsoft intellimouse, but I seem to recall it happening with a non-MS mouse my grandmother got me...
  2. Trial lawyers opposed to it?? Then I'm all for it!!! lol This is a good step, IMO. Ignorant juries have no business deciding malpractice cases where the prosecution will just tug at their heartstrings...
  3. I turned off the mousepad when an external mouse is plugged in and it just jumped as I was typing that, lol. also reinstalled the mouse drivers. darnit, I thought that may have done it.
  4. Yeah, everything is high speed, and it is acting just like slow page loading, but I really don't think that is it. Some of the pages this happens on have nothing impressive on them, or things that take time to load. It happens a good bit here, and there isn't anything here that should cause that. I just read a forum post from like 1004 where someone else had this issue and they suggested downloading a newer mouse driver, so I think I'll try that. And no, I don't use peer to peer or download movies. To afraid of viruses, lol. ahh yeah, I'll check that too.
  5. Lemme try to explain this again. hmmm... I load the page. Everything appears to load (but I cannot see the whole page) and like with the big ad you are talking about, about 5 or so seconds later the pages jumps a line or two, like I used the scroll wheel to scroll up or down a line- but I didn't. Sometimes it can be more around 10 seconds or so. and it just jumps. Sometimes it jumps when I click, so I have to go refind where I was gonna click and then click again. Kinda frustrating. I am playing now in IE, and it is doing the same thing, so it doesn't seem to be a Firefox issue. The mouse options on this computer are different than mine at home, so I don't have the ability to turn off the laptop pad while an external mouse is hooked up (maybe it does it already?) I dunno.
  6. Kurt Warner makes the AZ Cardinals think they actually have a team.

    24 hours

I would likely spend 24 hours with any of you laughing my ass off. You may not be laughing, but after the binge of burrito's the day before- I certainly will be. heh heh heh
  8. yeah, I didn't think about it because my 7 port hub is plugged into the wall. But I may just be overloading it.
  9. That's a good idea. I have a couple of 4 port hubs I can try and see if that helps. That makes sense. I have a cool pad plugged into the 7 port hub, and I bet that sucks a lot of power. I bet that helps! I'll let ya know.
  10. it is 2.0, and the brand new one acts the same as the old one...
  11. Java bastards... Mouse wise, I turned off the laptop mouse pad while I have an external mouse attached., Maybe that will help. That is about the only thing I saw that could cause a conflict. I remember #3 now: I have 4 USB ports on my home laptop (Vista) and I have an external powered 7-port USB hub plugged into one of them. Certain devices will not work if plugged into the hub. Mouse, Keyboard, external drives- will not work right if in the USM hub- they have to be plugged into the computer. This is the second hub I am having this issue on. These things used to work fine. However, my printers work just fine in the hub.
  12. ok, couple of issues I wanna pick you all's brains about since we all seem to be pretty computer savvy around here: #1- This happens on 3 computers I own (one vista, 2 xp.) I will go to a web page, load the page, and then 5 or so seconds later, the page will move without me touching the mouse. Sometimes it makes sense, like here when I click on "First unread post" as the screen is resetting to where I told it to go, but other times it is completely random and may be up to 15 or so seconds after I load the page. I use Firefox, and a Microsoft Optical mouse on all the computers, but have tried other mice and it's no different. heck, maybe this is normal, lol. #2- Flash freezes up. I have the latest Flash and Direct X, but a good example is Pool here in the arcade- it gets to the Pick a cue screen and gets stuck. I if click twice, it goes ahead and finishes the game- with a zero score. If I click once, it takes forever to get to the game screen, and then when I try to shoot the ball, it totally locks up the game. This seems to only happen on the Vista computer, although I have not tried it on the one XP. Any ideas? 3-hmm, there was something else, maybe I'll remember later.
  13. That's what I got from it. I thought he did rather well. Now, it wouldn't be much of a stretch for me to believe that the kid and his question were planted, but I thought Obama answered it well- especially to a 4th grader. The kid wasn't asking about all the political talking points, so there wasn't a need to delve into them.
  14. Now I am far from a sex expert, but I think even I can answer that question...
