  1. I don't like the term "he controlled the movements of not only himself but those of the secondary characters in his saga." Free will and all. Judas chose on his own to betray Jesus. The leaders of the time were bent on quieting Jesus, so they would have found another way had Judas not betrayed Him. But, it did lead to the crucifixion of Jesus, and that was part of God's master plan. Just goes to show you that God can take our (read: humanities) screw ups and still use them to His glory.
  2. Is there really a "need" for them now? I have no issue with protests and marces to support your views, but the gay pride parades go beyond just a protest march and enters perversion. It's this perversion that I have issue with.
  3. In a way yes. Much like the races you mentioned- it shouldn't matter to society if people want to be gay or not. the difference is that being gay has become a cause, a battle if you will, of debauchery and sleaze. It isn't the normal everyday homosexual person fighting this battle, it's the in your face gay people in a parade through your city publicly wearing buttless chaps, giant dildos, and other perversions that if were done publicly by any other member of society they would be locked up. Children are being exposed to sexuality earlier and earlier all the time, and these public displays don't help anything the moral fiber of America is being eroded by these types of people (not that they are alone in that, not by any means,) and it's that moral fiber that helps hold us together as Americans.
  4. the fundamental values I learned in life came from God. You can believe it's something else if you want, but I know different.
  5. well then, apparently it makes you ignorant. God doesn't audibly speak to me- but through situations, through people, through the Bible- He most definitely speaks to me. But I have to listen and look for it. If you aren't looking for it, you aren't going to see it.
  6. so if "God's word" speaks to me, then I am stupid?
  7. I guess it all depends on what you think each is threatening. Terrorism threatens inocent lives, threatens our "safe and secure" feeling that we get from being the most powerful nation on the planet. Terrorism threatens our economy. Homosexuality is thought to threaten the moral fabric of America. I agree with wez that if two people want to have sex, it's none of my business, but like Bender said- At every chance homosexuality is shoved down our throats- and if we complain- then we are considered intolerant. Terrorism is much more a physical threat, while homosexuality is more of a political threat. Terrorism is seen as an outside threat, while Homosexuality is a "from the inside out" threat. Terrorism tends to be a surprise attack, while homosexuality is more and more creepign into every fabric of society. Differences, but both causes could be very damaging to our society as a whole.
  8. You don't have to be self-righteous to hear Him, but you do have to be listening for Him. I would say that generally, those that "stray from God's word the most" aren't doing a good job of listening for Him.
  9. as a nosy sombitch, I've gotta ask- What's with the complete reassurance, thru repetition, that you are new? Who you trying to convince?
  10. Oh absolutely. It shows the power hungriness of Hitlery, but it is an avenue that will need to be looked at if the Dems want an actually shot at the white house. It would likely be a lovely phone call to listen in on as they discuss who has which office, lol
  11. I would say worried and desperate. The longer those two attact each other, the harder it will be for either one of them to win against McCain- so to win- Run together. I predited this a couple months ago. It just may be the only chance the Dems have come November.
  12. and anyone that is male and/or female...
  13. I completely agree, but would add stupid kids to your list. I'll call you mother and let her know that you are ready to quit being a burden on society...
  14. Who let the n00b try to post pictures?
  15. Lmao!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. holy freaking cow....
  17. I'll be ready financialy, but I don't know if I'll be ready emotionally. I love working. I love putting in a good days work and seeing what I accomplished that day. Finiancially I have a 401k, that work matches (not much, but it's better than nothing.) I currently own 1 duplex, and after 7 years the rental income completely pays my mortgage payment- so basically I live in the other side for free. I am considering purchasing the dulplex next to mine, as well. Especially with the interest rates so low right now. As long as I can keep it rented, (which in the neighborhood I am in, should never be a problem) it would make me tons of cash in the long run.
  18. ya know the crackheads could, oh I dunno, quit being crackheads... Seriously though, personal responsibility needs to be a top priority here. Charge the crackhead for his time in prison. Make him pay it back, and I don't necessarily financially. Same with anyone that gets put in prison. I'm not sure why chain gangs went out of style (I'm sure though that prisoner abuse had something to do with it) but it seems to me that there is a ton of physical labor that these non-violent prisoners could be doing to better society while incarcerated. road repair, roadway cleaning, building gov't buildings, working for habitat for humanity, etc. heck, I'd even be willing to give them a break on their jail time if they are productive and stay clean.
  19. I agree with wez- homeless people should be locked up too.

    Iws

I will add as long as they are equally enforced as well. Nothing wrong with strict, but when some get treated differently- then comes the issues. And since I am apparently one of the "3" (even though I have mostly tried to stay out of this recent drama whore-fest,) I will add that I have done my fair share of ignoring, only to be prodded, baited, and sucked back in time after time. I do not blame the baiter for my getting sucked back in (as that is my own doing) but it sure would be hard to get baited if the baiting wasn't continually going on.

    Iws

IWS, I like you, your thoughts and opinions, and have tried to give you the benefit of the doubt around here. But this: has got to be the freakiest thing I have ever heard of anyone doing to an online "foe"... I gotta say TJ has a good point here. Maybe I'm wrong, but showing posts, that could very easily be taken out of context, but were absolutely taken out of the heat of the discussion, and showing them to a third party is silly, and screams of looking for validation. I could be over-reacting, but that really weirded me out. Who else has your shrink friend looked at? Did she tell you that I am under-compensating for having a large penis? IWS, I can't go as far as TJ and say this is all your fault, because I honestly believe you are trying to be fair to all, and I know you have taken action against Wez. But TJ makes a good point with the lack of caring. It gets frustrating to the regular members to report a post, and then he keeps up the crap. It's hard from the outside looking in to see progress, and I think that is what I want more than anything with wez- it's why I keep trying to get him to understand my point of view on it all, and the lack of said progress is why it's so hard to deal with him on a civil level when he starts back up. BUT, this is all about our public perception. With TJ being an admin at another site, and myself being a former admin- we (or at least I) get used to seeing and hearing the behind the scenes stuff, and it is really hard to adjust to not knowing what the admins are doing to stabilize a situation. Know what I mean? That I can totally agree with. If that much value is put on the "official" complaints, then things may have worked differently here. Although, if IWS is modifying wez's posts before they can be "officially" reported, then isn't something being done before the official complaints? Fan-frickin-tastic idea! I've been telling wez for years to go get his own forum where he can set the rules and learn about running an effective forum. I really think if he would, he'd learn a ton about how he interacts with people, and how much it detracts form the purpose of the forum when people start spamming and trolling.
  22. Score: 53% (8 out of 15) hangs head in shame
  23. indeed....
  24. Didn't you just get out of the idiot box? First one of the site, if I am correct. Must be doing something the same as you always have...
