1. Is that not part of the "booty call" mentality though? Sex for the sake of sex and nothing else? While there are certainly exceptions, men and women working together offer a lot of chances for them to both think about other things. Think about it, your around them twice as much as your family. Your working side by side 8 hours every day, at home your lucky to get an hour or two together in the romantic glow of the television before going to sleep if you have children. If there are children then there is a very good chance the guy is not getting any sex at home, so when we are "looking" what will you see first? What is right in front of you.
2. How do you know what I say if you never read any of it? Busted again, here you show the real problem, you have never read anything I have written, all you do is see one or two words, assign the worse possible meaning to those words, and attack.
3. I was cooking at the time someone was interviewing a democrat politician about why he supported obama care so I missed their name but the interviewer asked him "the polls now show for your district that 53% of the people are against this bill, will you listen to the voters or will you do your own thing?" The guy said that this Nation was not a democracy and majority does not rule. He believes the peoples voice is important but he has to do what he believes is right even if every voter says no. I will say this about the man, at least he is the only honest Democrat speaking about Obama care and their intention to pass this no matter what the people say.
4. More for me
5. I love Shepard's Pie, the cabbage sounds interesting, I will give that a try. I do beef, lamb mixed in it. Only hand mashed for me as well, instant mashed suck. On of my favorite meals is actually very simple, chicken and rice. I like to add celery and I use a little Tarragon and Marjoram in it to give it a different flavor. Pretty much averyone who trys it comments on how good it is.....of course you have to have cornbread baked in an iron skillet to go with it Something very different I cook is I take pork ribs and cut them up to fit in my slowcooker. I then pour equal amounts of pineapple juce and grapefruit juce over them till covered. A little fresh crushed garlic, cover and cook.
6. Exactly, lol.
7. But do you think our "booty call" attitudes with sex has anything to do with it Ali? I have to know a woman very well before I will even get close to making a sexual joke or play like that. It certainly is not fair because this kind of accusation is an instant guilty assumption against a man. I have seen very respected men get accused of sexual harassment and fight tooth and nail to prove their innocence but even if they do, they are scarred for life by the accusation. I will tell you one of mine: A security meeting was called at FSP (a prison) while I was there and many people were gathering in the conference room a few minutes early. There was about 25 guys there and one woman and we were chatting about a few different things and there was even a couple mild jokes told and then the woman turns to me and says "Inspector, how do you know when a woman is completely and totally sexually satisfied?". First of all I had never had this kind of talk with this lady before and was very uneasy with even talking about sex on any level in a setting like this but everyone is looking at me waiting for my reply. So I very quickly ran through a number of answers but none of them seemed "safe" for the setting. I then considered that maybe there was a real and honest answer to the question. Possible? Maybe, but I sure as hell was not going to say something that could get me into trouble so I weakly responded "Um, well I don't know, how?" She responds, "I didn't think you would know." Everyone laughs and even I have to admit she got me pretty good with that one but I remember thinking at the time, how would that have gone over if I had instead sexually slammed her in front of all those guys? Two years later she was involved in a big sexual harassment lawsuit against two shift Captains. Did they do something? Maybe, I was not there, but I wonder if she had behaved with them the way she had with me? This is why I don't play the word game with women, they get upset, you go to prison, or at least loose your job.
8. Sexual harassment was originally defined as any "unwanted" advances or behaviors, the cute guys actions are wanted, the fat guy trying to flirt is not. This have changed though, now anything can be sexual harassment.
9. Actions speak louder than words, while you say here you do not hate, your constant need to ignore topics and concentrate on personal flames shows a different truth. You do not like me, so that is all you will ever let yourself see, you read my words and insert your expectations for what you "want" to see, not what is really there. If all your looking for is bad in people, you will always find it. You do know that there are these businesses where companies build commercial buildings right? I mean, do you think they just sprout out of the ground all by themselves? I work at a company who builds a wide range of buildings. Consider every kind of building you have been in and my company has more than likely built something similar. Why does it seem difficult for you to understand that I have exposures in many kinds of construction projects? I actually have residual income from over 15 businesses I have been involved in building from scratch. Some with partners, some not. My usual pattern is to get the business making money then sell it off to someone where I retain anywhere from 5 to 10% ownership interest. Yes, I have had a few failures as well, but we learn more from a failure than a success. I will go ahead and give you another tidbit you can call me a liar about, I now have my GC license because I got tired of being a sub to everyone else. Work smarter, not harder. I respect your right to have your opinion, but your wrong about me. You have inserted concepts and ideas of me that are not reality and I really do not know how to help you with this Psychosis you are experiancing. I have not lied about anything. I am not untrustworthy, I am the very definition of logical because I do not allow political correctness or anything else to get in the way of my persuit of truth. It is like what I said to Ali, she agreed with my conclusions, but not my methods. I agree, I am blunt and to the point. I do not worry about trying to protect brittle emotions because to me emotion is irrelivant to fact. If you want to call me out on a lie, do so, be specific and I will gladly respond to it. But, I will not try to answer to things I have only done inside your own mind just to justify your hate and bad behaviors.
10. The promise is for equal opportunity, not equal results.
11. And there is my point from square one. You have your "I hate times" glasses on, and that is all that matters to you, you will never allow yourself to see anything else. Friendship and understanding is a two way street, you want me to travel to you and give you more understanding but you refuse to do the same for me. When you learn to do so, let me know because I am more than willing to get along with those who will meet me in the middle. And so what is this supposed to mean? You can't stick to the issues and must turn to more personal flames? Now I cannot have a job because I have access to the internet at work? This is the kind of tactic I am speaking about. Kill the messenger, ignore the message. You know, those who spend so much time pointing fingers at other people for making up their life on the internet are usually guilty of doing that themselves. There is not one person on the internet I feel any need to impress. Obviously you feel inferior or threatened to be acting so poorly. But guess what Chi, I don't hate you, and I am not mad at you, I can dissagree with people without taking it personal, I guess you can't.
12. Thank you Ali
13. Well I already do a lot of italian and some mexican meals. I just started doing some Asian cooking, I have come up with my own eggrolls that I love, I am not really sure what I want, I figured you guys would have completely different kinds of cooking. I like sauces, my slow cooker is my favorite kitchen tool. Soups and breads are very good and I make them pretty often. I grill three nights a week, I just love the taste of grilled food but even that can get old after awile. I have been experimenting with different marinades and some of them are pretty good. I do like meatloafs Ali, I also do most of my cooking from the hip but I like to take a recipe and make it as-is the first time to help me determine how I want to customise it for myself.
14. I am looking for a truly different recipe to try. I love to cook and have a wide range of meals now but I am looking for something really different to try. I see some stuff on the internet but you never know if they are just crazy combinations or really good so if someone has something they believe is truly different but also very good please share it with me.
15. The Obama administration has mandated a new medical symbol to represent their fresh ideas and change for the American people:
16. Well I just wanted to be sure you knew my intent was not to say anything bad about you on a personal level, it was my failed attempt to say you openly say your single with nobody living with you. I can admit when I am wrong, it just does not happen very often
17. Okay, I was wrong about the word, I am sorry for that, I really thought I used a different wording. If you read my post for context though, you see I am not intending to use the word wallow as her suffering from her being alone but instead the way she "spreads it around the forum". So my usage of wallowing was not meant to be personal, just an expression of her usage of that information and how I understood her to be alone because she is always talking about being alone. So this is still a great example, you see one bad looking word and assume the worse for my intent instead of looking for context to see what I was actually saying. Ali, if I hurt your feelings in my poor choice of words I am sorry, that was not my intent. I really do mean that.
18. The example I offered was how even if the people were behaving themselves, it can still cause issues. I remember about two years ago one of our owners was close to divorce. It was the situation I pointed out where he was seen with an attractive lady having dinner and the friend didn't tell the wife at first. The first thing she did was tell other friends what she saw. The friend of course claimed she was trying to advise if she should tell the wife or not but what she was really doing is spreadding gossip. Two weeks later everyone in their circles believed the man was having an affair and it finally got back to the wife who is now feeling very embarassed and shammed that everyone "knows" her husband is fooling around on her. She kicked him out of the house and filed for divorce inside a week without ever asking him if he had done it or not. She was so ashamed by what other people "thought" they knew it was devestating to her. After some time passed she finally allowed her husband to explain what had happened and they got back together but all of this mess when the man had done nothing wrong. I will say this. Look at everyone who is in a long tern successful relationship and see if they spend a lot of time with friends of the opposite sex. I do not know one. In my opinion, committment to one man or one woman includes protecting their feelings and avoiding anything that can cause trouble between the two of you. Think of it like defensive driving, avoiding the other bad drivers just because you do not need the trouble in your life their poor driving can cause you.
19. 4 months ago I agreed with you Hugo, I thought the people were asleep at the wheel and were not paying attention to what Obama and company were doing but in the last month I have seen people shake themselves awake and start speaking out. The Liberals/socialists want to discount the vocal people as plants because if they admit this is real concern by real people they know they will have to back off. The majority of Americans do not want Obama care, but the elitist messiah is so arrogant that he believes the people are too stupid to make that decision. This brings to mind the amnesty bill where Bush and McCain were 100% behind it and wanted it passed in a bad way. They tried to plead with the public and get them to see it their way but in the end the people were listened to and the measure was defeated. Just like then, the people again are speaking out. Obama does not want to listen to the people. With all the early talk about how Obama had a mandate, it is hard to look at the polls now and see the same Obama the people wanted. Obama promised change, a new Washington, but Obama lied, and the people are starting to see his lies for what they were. If Obama does not snap out of his power hungry elitist trance, he will be down to Bush approval numbers by the end of the year. Notice how the Congress approval numbers stay down? The people are not happy. They are not happy about the way these things are going so I really believe a Referendum will stop this plan "As written".
20. Bender, admission to the event was strictly controlled, nobody was allowed to attend the meeting until they were screened and their questions were cleared. Obama has said many times he will never support tort reform. The big meeting he had with the doctors a couple months ago he said the same thing to the tune of groans from everyone in the audience but he still charged foward preaching about how it is unfair to the all people to place any restrictions on lawsuits. Your so fond of telling people to post the actual words from the bill I ask you the same thing, post the lines specifically reduding the awards of all medical lawsuits......if you can. Tort reform and dropping barriers to allow cross state competition is the easiest thing to do, why not start there Bender? Why do you believe we have to solve every issue with the Government taking over things? EDIT Funny stuff. Last night Obama claimed the AARP had endorsed his plan, he went on and on about it and today the AARP said they do not endorse Obama's plan.......I guess just more lies from Obama.
21. Well there are many complex layers. "CAN" they be just friends? Sure they can. Will there be assumptions and issues even if they are just friends? Most of the time yes. The problem is there is more at question than just yourself. Let's say a man and woman is married and the married man is seen having dinner with another woman by a friend of the wife. Now suddenly there is conflict, does the friend tell the wife? What will be the reaction of the wife? Will the wife be too scared to ask the husband and instead conduct her own "investigation"? Will this information fester deep inside the woman and it cause other problems and arguements in the marriage? Then what happens when the truth comes out and it was just a business meeting or a chance lunch at the same place and an old friend is there so they share a table? Will the festering pain caused just dissapear or will there be lasting negative effects on the marriage? (This can be completely the same with the man as well, I am not trying to say only a woman could hold onto something like this and let it eat away at them.) In this situation, who is at fault? The wife for not asking her husband for the truth before getting angry? The nosy friend who told the wife? The woman who had lunch with a married man and gave the wrong impression? The man who had lunch with another woman when he should have known better being married and gave the wrong impression? It is complex to be sure. My answer? I myself avoid the wrong appearances. I would never put myself in that situation. Why? Because I care too much for Tami to put her through something like that. I care too much for my family for even a rumor like that to get running around. I care too much for any woman who might eat lunch with me to have people talk that way about her. Now, do I expect Tami to do the same thing? Well I would never tell her to act this way, but I would not be with her today if she did not know the meaning of propriety. She conducts herself like a lady, and it is one of the things I respect about her.
22. The truly funny thing is people who put down cops the most would never have the backbone to do the job themselves. And, they are the first ones to be critical of the police when they need them. I say if your so down on police, never call on them either. I love it that hugo pretends to follow spencer when it is Spencer who says it is fine to drop your connection to the state, but at the same time you loose your protections from that same state: "Government being simply an agent employed in common by a number of individuals to secure to them certain advantages, the very nature of the connection implies that it is for each to say whether he will employ such an agent or not. If any one of them determines to ignore this mutual-safety confederation, nothing can be said except that he loses all claim to its good offices, and exposes himself to the danger of maltreatment ? a thing he is quite at liberty to do if he likes. He cannot be coerced into political combination without a breach of the law of equal freedom; he can withdraw from it without committing any such breach; and he has therefore a right so to withdraw."
23. Never said you did, I was pointing out the context of a spoiled, elitist, racist professor who thought he was better then the white cop and could bully the cop because he had "powerful friends". Well, now your back to calling the cop irresponsible, but point by point you say he did nothing wrong up to the point of the arrest, hard to say the officer is irresponsible for doing his job and following the law hugo. And Spencer was a big supporter for people being responsible for their own actions, you certainly are not representing his views by saying people like Gates should be protected from their own folly. What a cage is to the wild beast, law is to the selfish man. ~ Herbert Spencer Would Gates be considered the selfish man? Thrashing at the bars screaming about the unfairness of it? Calling those who enforce the law racists when their not? Using his political ties to escape the enforcement of the law? Oh, protect and serve, your right, but your problem is you only see Gates as important, you see fighting against the police as noble, even when the police are right.......but the police are there to serve and protect "everyone" not just one person at the expense of all other people. Once the racist took his tirade outside, he was imposing his hostility and irresponsible outbursts to everyone. What is his out of control behavior teaching the kid next door who sees the police get abused in this way? This is one example but there are many ways an out of control person in a community can cause severe harm to that community, just like arresting him can teach a valuable lesson to the same kid who sees that bad behavior is punnished.
24. The problem with doing the best and most effective things first in things like healthcare and immigration is if they do too much good, they cannot gin up the support they need to push America to their socialist agenda. I blame the Republicans on this too, especially the immigration issue where they had a clear and loud stand from the people to secure our borders and refused to do it. I still cannot understand why both parties refuse to secure our borders. Somthing I learned tonight was health insurance is restricted to State by State groups. It is estimated we can reduce costs of insurance by opening up insurance sales like auto insurance almost as much as tort reform. So right there we have two very powerful solutions offered by Conservatives that will severely lower health care and insurance cost and increase competition that can be done "NOW" without the Federal Government spending more than what it takes to write the bills.
25. I like that video........it is so true, I find myself wondering........as much as hugo and RO talk about the constitution and founding beliefs for America with small Governments and freedoms........... Can they name one time in America's early history where a law officer would have tucked tail and ran away from being screamed at like this? Even a white man screaming at a white sheriff in the old west, the real freedom days, do they believe the sheriff would have walked away? A person showing their azz to such a massively horrible degree has never been considered reasonable in America. The day after the constitution was signed you did not scream at the local law enforcement so I completely reject any claim that Gates was treated unfairly. Only now, only these lower moral days, these days of dodging responsibility is it considered by people like hugo and RO that screaming at and disrespecting police officers is being Patriotic. Patriotism... is not short, frenzied outbursts of emotion, but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime. ~Adlai Stevenson
