Nice dodge RO, question to difficult for you? Your comment about officers having sidearms and combat training means what? There is no way they can have feelings? My point is cops are still humans and screaming at them calling them racists or something when they are not racists can hurt their feelings just like anyone else can have hurt feelings. I am not saying they are emotionally unstable or something, just that who wants to be assaulted in these ways while doing their job? I don't know where you work RO but if someone came in screaming at you and calling you bad names without cause, would you just stand there smiling? I seriously doubt it.

At least I am still on topic, lol.

There is a big difference between a lie and avoiding the truth as a whole. I acknowledged that she felt her exposures were all honey and sugar, the greatest thing she could ever imagine healthcare to be, but she would never admit to things like the anual meeting in Canada where the massive waiting lines were being discussed. Her refusal to admit the size of the problem was what I called Disingenuous. Is two people agreeing 1 + 1 = 2 also just convenient in your mind? Could two people agree because they are right? I am not offering this Doctor's views as being everything, just another point for consideration. We have many things to support his points independant though, like the shortage of 10,000 doctors in Canada by the end of 2010.......I will ask you the same question as Bender, why do you think Canadians find these doctor jobs as undesirable? Not really, my point about her possition was based in her avoiding the points I made like her own suppreme court saying Canadians were dying because of the long waiting lines. Not once did Emkay ever admit the long waiting lines were a "BIG" problem, she just shrugged them off as not being real. Your "turning tables" is based in revenge seeking, mine is searching for the truth, so there is no comparison between our two actions even if they may "seem" to be similar on the surface. So you completely agree with my assessment but you complain about my lack of being politically correct? I like Emkay, but I see no reason to entertain fantacy just to make her or anyone else feel better about the facts. Sugar coating is not something I am any good at.

The Government plan does not have to make a profit, the ability to keep what you already have is erased by the elimination of free enterprise and competition. The Government system will be less expensive so the other insurance companies will be out of business. You even admitted this yourself and said screw the insurance companies, I can quote you if you don't remember saying that. Obama said in the interview being sent around that it will take about ten years to get rid of all the private insurance companies. And the people not reading the bill are just like their represenatives. Every politician pushing this move is only doing so because of partisan politics, there is no "final" bill so nobody has "read the bill". What we do know is what parts of it say, and those parts are very disturbing.
-
Do you believe having a gun erases the humanity and feelings out of a person? Cops are emotionless robots?
-
Where do you get that from? Making it larger does not change what it is Bender. It will still be ponzi.
-
How do you figure, just because I don't want to post a private person's name on an open forum? Your an ass Bender, I am not telling a lie, like the informatio or not, it is still true. I posted a story about Canada being short 10,000 doctors by the end of 2010 in the Canada thread before, why do you thing people don't want to be doctors in Canada then if it is not the very low pay? How about you address his points instead of dodging these valid points with more personal attacks?
-
I never said her words were lies, I said she was not being fair to the situation and also offered that her small exposures were not wide enough to discount the massive flood of information that did not agree with her. I offered as example my own circles are similar to emkay's, nobody I directly know has ever had a problem getting medical care so if we are only going to allow personal exposures into the discussion would it be reasonable for me to claim America's system is perfect and nobody falls through the cracks? Everything is perfect with our healthcare because my circles are well cared for? I don't think so, there is a larger truth, even if some folks are too traped in self-defensive modes to publically admit them. Did you even click any of the links I offered? As far as naming the doctor, I do not believe his name is relivant, those of you who are in love with Obama no matter what I post, I am sure flaming the doctor will follow the second he is named and that is not the subject, just another way to derail discussion away from the real topic. The Government sets the pay schedule, they even decide where a new doctor can set up practice by saying they "need" doctors 'here' and if the doctor refuses to locate where they tell him to he cannot get any Government funds.
-
So take all the smaller failed Government health programs, bundle them all together, then increase them many times over to a single payer system as Obama wants......... The problem: If we cannot operate the systems we already have, what makes you think we will get a different result just by making it a hundred times larger? The Government does not possess the management skill needed to operate these programs, that is why they always fail and lead to corruption and severe rationing once they are in place.

So just to recap: 1 - The officer was doing what he was supposed to be doing, responding to a possible breakin at a residence. 2 - The officer was not being irresponsible or unreasonable in asking to see identification with an address to ensure those in the home he responded to belonged there. 3 - Gates reacted in an unreasonable, insulting and disruptive way, exploding verbally at the officer non-stop for many minutes. 4 - The officer had departed Gates home and was attempting to leave when Gates continued to verbally assault the officer outside of his home. 5 - The officer warned Gates he was being disruptive in an attempt to get him to calm down. 6 - The officer arrested Gates. 7 - You hold the officer to blame. I'm sorry but the gathered public and the Nation needed to see that even President's Obama's friends are subject to the law and when your screaming at the police just for doing their job that is unreasonable behavior and an attitude check is reasonable. I find it interesting you refuse to apply any responsibility to people to maintain at least a small measure of self-control.

More people than not love their private insurance in America. No, it is not perfect but nothing is. You see how that works both ways? The entire debate is not about those who like what they have, if that was the point we would not change anything because only a very tiny segment of America has a problem getting healthcare. Everyone can go to the emergency room if nothing else. The problem with Canada is they "CAN'T" treat all of their people, there is the problem that chould concern Americans. America is the relief valve for Canada, if America adopts the single payer system like Canada then both Countries will suffer greatly.
-
Well like it or not it has not worked for other Countries. I have proved Canada sends thousands of patients to America they can't treat and medical travel in Canada covers many thousands of Canadians every year. If their system is working so well, why are so many people heading to other places? I agree with you that we need to find a better way, but I don't see how us moving to the Canadian single payer system that has already been proven to suck will make anything better in America.
-
The tea parties are simply an expression of Americans who feel they are not being represented by their government. The same is true of the town hall meetings. The fake townhall meeting Obama did with ABC has proven that Obama does not care what the people really think, he has his eye on the goal and anything he has to do or say, lie or truth, he will do it.
-
Then you do not support Obama care?
-
See it what way? A lot more people care than you want to admit Chi, that is why we see the tea parties and now the town hall meetings with every day people getting upset over how their elected officials refuse to do as the people want. Obama wants what he wants, the liberal/socialist elite wants the same things becuase Obama is one of them, they will push for their vision of socialist healthcare no matter what the people say.
-
Bender shot down nothing Chi. He is right that there is nothing written into law right now at this second, but the time to act and speak out is "BEFORE" it is law, not after. Obama wants the Government running healthcare and already has set up the framework for a panel of advisors to determine who will get treatments and who will not based on their opinion of what is "not worth it" and what is.
-
Just golden There are some sore toes in her shoes right now.
-
Bender's only comment in most of this is "show me the law". The problem with that is once it "IS" law your already too late to change anything. We know what he (Obama) "WANTS" to do, and we are trying to prevent it. That is why there is so much resistence to this mess, what Obama says, and what is in the many versions of the bill do not match up. Obama is playing all of America as stupid and trying the "bait and switch" on them but many Americans are not happy with that same old Washington BS. And "Same Old" is right, where is this new kind of politics Obama promised us? Right now he looks like every other partisan politician who has ever held the office.
-
Well everyone is already saying Obama care will cost more money than if he did nothing so his claim this is to bring down costs is bull too. I support reforms on medical care, mostly on tort reform and I support a few other ideas even liberals have. I just do not believe blindly getting involved in running all American's medical care. Government employees are not smart enough to run things like this, they will screw it up big time no matter how well intended the lawmakers are.
-
Pardon my missing it eddo, so you agree severely lowering doctor income is not a good thing, thanks. I know a lot of people do believe Doctors make too much money but they also pay out most of that money is overhead like Malpractice Insurance premiums. When I asked the doctor what he would think could help lower costs of medical care he said to reduce lawsuits (tort reform) so it will lower Malpractice Insurance. He pays more on Malpractice Insurance than anything else to maintain his office and he does not have a single claim against him.

slaps evil mind for what it wanted to say I was thinking taffy, big chunks of taffy, should keep that mouth well filled and even try to stick the teeth together, bonus, lol.
-
Sure, I imagine there are a few "professionals" in the mix, but most of the people I see speaking out against these things are real people, real voters, real tax payers who do not want this mess to pass.
-
I like this candy too, but I don't do candy very much. If this does not work I can think of some other things I could try,
-
What exactly do you think the average doctor makes a year eddo? So your looking for your doctor to be an "average" person? To earn an "average" income? The "Average" person has only a highschool education with maybe 2 years of community college or less, does that qualify them to be a doctor eddo? You do not think someone who has 8 years and more of college should get a little more than "average" pay? Well, if we pass Obama care, that is exactly what your going to get, Joe Average, why? Becuase being a doctor is not an "average" job and anyone worth two squirts of piss would not work that hard to make such a small about of money. My brother in law is a doctor, I make about twice as much a year as he does (well the ex-wife gets almost half of that so I guess I make the same as he does after child support), and I am an idiot, lol Look at all the single payer Countries and what is one of the most common problems? Not enough doctors and nursed, Denmark just had a massive revolt from their nurses last year, and they are considered one of the best systems. Canada will be short 10,000 doctors by 2010...........why? Because nobody wants the jobs. My point in this is is to share his view of where the rationing and the poor quality of care in Canada came from, as well as why the top doctors like himself are leaving Canada. His point about profit motivating innovation for new products and treatments is also valid. Take the money out of it and who will want to spend billions on reasearch and development?
