NO. i used it way more. because i had a lip problem. but chapstick cured it. -gasp- imagine that. i thought it was supposed to dry your lips out!
Isn't that first link just somebodies own opinion? Just because that one person has some strange addiction to chapstick, doesn't necessarily mean it's true It looks like somebodies journal o_0http://www.nnin.net/archives/000156.php
ChapStick Addiction
What is it about this stuff? I've had a ChapStick addiction for many, many years now. It's not like I have dry lips or anything but I must always have a stick in my pocket. I constantly apply the stuff throughout the day. If you were to go through my dresser drawers and medicine cabinet you'd find probably no less than a dozen sticks of it. If I'm on my way to work or at work and don't have a stick in my pocket I'll stop at the nearest Walgreens and grab another. I can't go through the day without it. Trust me, I've tried. When I do, my lips feel all dry and cracked and nasty. I just counted, I've got 3 sticks on or about my person at this very moment. Do I need help? My personal favorite is the old standby of strawberry. I've tried their new Flava-Craze flavors but found them too fruity. I mean do you really need a flavor named 'Blue Crazeberry'?
What's next X-treme ChapStick? I can see it now: "Official sponsors of the X-Games. It now comes in X-treme flavas like Jumping-Jalapeno and Very-Vegan."
Maybe I should give ChapStick a call...

Lip Balm Anonymous is often asked if lip balm is really addictive. We wouldn't be here if it wasn't! The LBA Web site contains numerous testimonies from people around the world who consider themselves or others addicted. But do we meet a true definition of addiction? What do the experts say? By the definition, we are addicted. We use (or used) the substance habitually, often not realizing we were actually applying it since it was such a daily routine. Anyone who has tried to quit can readily attest that when you stop using, your lips become negatively affected for several days or weeks. The physiological dependency is there! We are not saying that everyone who uses lip balm will get addicted, but just like alcohol or cigarettes, some people seem to be more susceptible to becoming dependent. We'd like to see data on a genetic link for predisposition towards the phenomena known as "lip licking", the habit most doctors say causes dependency on lip balm. LBA has not been able to find any such data in the literature. But who knows what we would find in the secret files at Blistex or Carma Labs? But, don't take our word on it. Here's what others have to say.
once again, look at the comments
yes it does look like a journal, but look at the comments.Isn't that first link just somebodies own opinion? Just because that one person has some strange addiction to chapstick, doesn't necessarily mean it's true It looks like somebodies journal o_0
I clicked on the second link, I honestly couldn't be bothered to read it all. I don't even like chapstick much, there are much better lipbalms out there that moisturise your lips a lot better as well ^.^ I love the ones from boots <3 They're my favourite item of make up lol. Bleh, anyway I'm probably addicted to the stuff but not in that way. I'm not tearing out my hair, or screaming, or crying just because I didn't get my hand on the stuff. Lipbalm is not constantly on my mind and I don't crave for it. When my lips are dry and I don't have any lip balm on me, I lick them. Simple o_0 Although it dries them out even more, but nevertheless. It's not THAT bad lol.
I see it more as an necessity for me. Without it, my lips will be dry as ****. It's just one of those every day things.
I've always wondered how guys moiturise their lips. Are their lips more moist than girls? Girls carry lipbalms with them, but I've never seen a guy apply lip balm to their lips or have shiney lips o_0 Is it vaseline? Hmm
