Yeah but the top end is off... You should be able to see if the bearing on the big end of the rod went out... You're lucky it's only gonna cost you a cylinder/piston/crank.... It could have been so much worse.

My buddy's rod bearing went out and the only thing left that was good was the tranny, cam and clutch... Believe me... What happened to you could have been much worse.

Cool.... How much was that starter?... and was your old starter really bad?

Did it used to turn the engine over too slowly?

the starter its here: http://www.immortalatv.com/index.php?l=product_detail&p=149 half the price of the oem one...

and no, i have the http://www.dirtworksmotorsports.com 24V kit. so its starts super quick.

but the problem was that it was leaking oil into it... had that "fixed" and later it was getting stuck. had a quick "fix " while in San Felipe but then the engine seize so i migth as well replace it.

Oh... I never heard of oil getting into the starter... Interesting.

I had also thought of building a 24v kit but ended up just making a battery box under the seat and getting rid of the stock one hanging off the left side of the subframe. I went with a bigger 12v battery and my bike seems to turn over much better... But I would think the 24v system is way better at starting the bike.

For what an oil pump costs.. just change it anyway.. I did on my last build and I had no shavings.. just a little extra insurance..
