I don't know exactly what they said so I can't comment on whether or not
any of them "lied". I do, however, believe that their impressions about
certain things that Kerry claimed are valid because Kerry brought them
up, made that part of the campaign. Bush's service record was made part
of the campaign even though he didn't brag about it.

The problem is, very few of the 255 members of the Swift Boat Veterns
for "truth" were with Kerry.

The number of guys who were with him (on his boat, or on boats near
his) on operations, and who had problems with what he did, was quite
small. Just one guy who served on his boat out of 11-12, and a handful
of guys (5-10, depending on what we're talking about) on other boats
near his.

That's out of a total of about 200 guys who could have complained
about Kerry one way or another.

In many instances, what people thought or said about what happened
back then (and this is regarding Kerry, in Vietnam) was run through
the mouthpiece of the Swift Boat Veterans for "truth". Depending on
who the people were, and what they said, it was spun one way or
another.

And in the end, you can be sure it reflected negatively on Kerry.

However, whatt you were left with was far short of the truth of the
matter.

I feel that the truth is fair game, regardless of who we are talking
about.

I do not feel that lying and/or misrepresenting is appropriate.
