Well in essence Aiden is technically right - Bam has been the only father figure that he has known so of course he knows no different. Bam as the paternal type... not so sure, but so far he's proved himself to be a worthy role model to his little nephew. I think things will get interesting when/if Jesse comes back on the scene... uh oh.

chapter 24
"Uhh lets get you to bed little monkey."
Bam mumbeled as he picked Aiden up and deposited him in his crib. Aiden looked up at him with his big brown eyes and gave his little menical laugh.
"Daddy!"
Aiden squealed as he gave a small yawn. Bam gave a half smile as he kissed aiden on the head and pulled the blanket up over the tiny body. Bam turned and headed to his room, he sat down on the bed, running his hand over his gotee and then through his haggard hair. Bam swallowed, he didnt think he was ready for this kid to be calling him daddy.
"Whats wrong bam bam?"
Krys asked as she sat down behind him on her knees and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Aiden called me his daddy. I dont know if I can really handle it. "
"You're Aidens father. Jesse is nothing to him. "
"That makes me feel so relieved Krys."
Bam said as he reached up and captured her in a kiss. Krys leaned in, deepening the kiss. As they pulled away, they fell onto the bed which had been cleared off.
"You'll love Beaufort, its quiet and beautiful. It'll be cold down there but You'll like it."
"I trust you."
Bam said as he pulled off his shirt and fell asleep.
chapter 24

"where are we?"
"This is beaufort."
Krys said as the plane touched down at the small airstrip, Aiden happily babbeled on in baby talk in Bams arms. Bam gave the small town a look over. It was super small, cars were everywhere but there wernt really that many people. The only thing he could hear besides the cars was the sound of the ocean. It made him calmer. Bam got the carseat and found the rental car they would have to use. He put Aiden in the back seat while he and Krys sat up in front.
"So are there any good places to eat?"
"Yeah, plenty and if theres something you dont like here, there are plenty in Morehead city."
Krys said as they drove to the hotel, passing by the waterfront where the boats were docked. Bam saw the look on Krys's face as they pulled up to the big hotel that they were going to stay at. Krys was shocked, this place was huge! Bam got Aiden out of his car seat and took him inside where they checked in. Ape and Phil would be comming on the next flight in from philly so they would already have the rooms that Bam arranged for them. Bam got their room keys and they then went upstairs to check it out. Krys gasped.
"Havent you ever been in a place like this before?"
"No, I'd just settle for the usuaul hampton inn. This place is like way upscale."
"Nothing but the best for you."
Bam said as he kissed Krys on the neck. Aiden squealed happily and gave a girlgle. Bam sighed, Since she had Aiden, they really hadnt had any alone time. Maybe he could convince his parents to take aiden for a night and let them catch up on what couples do. Plus he had something very specail he wanted to do for Krys. He swallowed and put his hand in his pocket as he fidigeted with something in it. He hoped that everything would be perfect and nothing would go wrong. Bam had everything down to the last detail planned. He wouldnt do it in some posh resturant, it would be some place more casual and low key. Bam smiled to himself as he brought their suitcase up. he knew almost exactly what he was doing.

Oh! Oh! Bam's gonna pop the question!! OMG how romantic! Well, I've never really pictured him as the romantic type (unless there's a prank to be had from it 
) but that's genuinely sweet. I do wonder however how not just Jesse but Ville are gonna handle this situation. They haven't featured much in this little family unit (not a bad thing really ) but still... I can see a whole world of trouble to come for this happy family before he gets his 'happily ever after.'

There was a knock on the door. Phil went to go answer it, being careful incase bam was planning a sneak attack. He peered out the peep hole and saw it was bam with Aiden. Phil unlocked the door and let bam in. Bam set aiden down on the bed where the toddler promptly crawled over to his grandma. Ape happily picked Aiden up and played with him. Bam saw the look in his mom's eyes, he hadnt seen that look in ages when he brought her up on stage with Billy idol for her birthday.
"Can I assume that you like the room?"
"Hun its beautiful."
Ape said as she cradeled Aiden on her hip with one arm while wrapping the other around Bam's neck, giving him a hug. Bam smiled but then it dropped like ice cream from a cone on a hot day in july.
"Ape, Phil, I need your advice on something..."
Ape and phil froze.
"Dont tell me you got Krys pregnant."
"No thats not wha....Hey! Why is it when i ask for advice you automatically assume I got some girl pregnant?"
"We're your parents, we're suposed to assume the worst."
Phil said as he sat down on the bed with Ape and Aiden. Phil smiled as Aiden tugged on his shirt sleeve. Bam rolled his eyes and pulled the small box out of his pocket. He showed it to Ape. His mother gasped as she took the small box from him and opened it up.
"Bam this is.... this is a big commitment. Are you sure you're ready?"
"Your mom's right son, This is one of the biggest things that could happen to anyone."
Bam swallowed and snapped the box shut. He slipped it back into his pocket. Bam nervously licked his lips and pulled Aiden back up into his arms. Aiden pulled the visor beanie off of bam's head and set it on his own. The hat was big for him, so it slid down over his eyes, making Aiden squeal in happiness.
"Daddy!"
Aiden squealed as he bounced in Bam's arms. Ape and phil shared a look at their grandsons first word.
"I'm as ready for this as I'll ever be. I've never been so sure about anything. Besides If I dont do something soon..."
"You're afraid you're gonna loose her. right?"
Phil injected wisely. Bam nodded feverously as Aiden was set down on the floor to play with one of his favorite toys that Glomb had made for him, a wooden skateboard on a pull string.
"Yeah that sounds about right. I just dont know. I'm confused about alot of things right about now. Aiden's one of 'em. I cant understand how Krys must feel having to raise him with me of all people. He's my brothers child. He should be calling Jesse dad and not me."
"The one thing you'll find out about kids is that they see deeper then what blood is running through the veins. With Aiden, as long as you love him and be a father to him, he'll see you as a father. If *** didnt think you could handle Aiden then he wouldnt have given you this opportunity."
Ape said as she gave her son a kiss on the cheek. Bam smiled and then ruffeled Aidens hair as he was playing with both the visor beanie and the wooden skateboard.
"Thanks ape."
Bam turned to the door with his head.
"Can I ask you to keep Aiden for the night? Krys and I need some alone time."
Ape smiled and gave her son a hug.
"Of course, have fun."
"Here's an extra key incase you need to get some of his stuff."
bam said handing a key to Ape. Phil hugged Bam as well, not with out a little struggle from his son to avoid his fathers bear hug. Bam gave Aiden a kiss on the cheek before turning to head over to his and Krys's room.
"Dont worry son, I know she'll say yes."
Phil said as bam headed across the hall.
phoenix's ultra-specail blah blah blah #1- i ended up having this idea when talking with a friend. She was telling me about how one of her favorite Manga writers injects her thoughts into the comic about some random things in the book. so im gonna give it a try and hopefully give my readers a behind the sceens type of thing. chapter 26 was a hard one to write for me. 'specailly with how the characters have developed thus far, if any of you have watched viva la bam, you know how random and obnoxious bam is, so, trying to find a way for him to figure things out made me think that he would go more on impulse, just like most guys do. but other then that... it was kindda fun to write since alot of it was inspired by rav's writing. *ending phoenix's ultra specail blah blah blah #1*

^ Agreed! The little BTS was sweet too. Nice insight. I love the update - though having said that after watching Viva La Bam I'm almost inclined to think Bam in this is more *ahem* "mature" in this than he is in RL. Probably. But I love the emotion. Nice balance to the comedy. As for being inspired? Aww, shucks. *blushes*

Bam took Krys's hand as they walked down the dock, removing their flip flops, setting them down in the sand along with Bam's shirt and blazer. The sun was setting. It had been an extreamly weird winter, more warm then it was cold. It was cooling off and the tide was comming in.
"Bam all of this is so beautiful."
Krys breathed as the small waves crashed upon their feet. Bam felt calm, the salt air was intoxicating him, just like Krys did. It was a natural charm that both the sea and Krys held in their eyes. Bam felt krys let go of his hand, in an instant, his hat was pulled off his head and Krys laughed as she sprinted a couple of feet ahead of Bam. His mischevious smirk grew into a grin as she chased her out into the surf. There was alot of splashing and laughter, drawing the gazes of the elderly that were walking past. Exchausted, Krys and Bam fell into the water, he immedeatly knew that this was the right time. He helped pull Krys up into the sitting position and he then turned to face her.
"Everything now is beautiful. You are the best thing to happen to me. I know when we first started off we were like cat and mouse, always snipping at each other. Then Ville and Jesse had to go and ruin your life. So now I want to start a new one, just you, me, and Aiden. Krys Valo, will you marry me?"
Bam instantly felt his throat go dry. a million thoughts were running through his mind at this moment. He felt dizzy and high at the same time. Krys just blinked at him, trying to process what he had just asked her. He then was tackeled into the sand by her. Her lips crashed down on his, their tongues teasing each other in a playful banter.
"is that a yes?"
Bam asked as they broke away, the surf still washing up around them.
"Its a **** yes. I know Aiden will be happy and so will I. You are the most perfect person for me."
Bam swooped her up in a bridal style and carried her back to the spot where they left their stuff then back up to the hotel room. Krys turned on the shower and washed the sand off. She sat down on the nice fluffy goose down comforter while bam went to wash the sand off too. Krys looked at the ring on her finger. Instantly she felt like everything would be alright. there was nothing bad to hurt her any more. She had everything that she could ever want, the perfect man and her son. Ape and phil were like her parents and the crew were like her brothers. Nothing could kill the happiness.
"Whats on your mind babes?"
Bam wrapped his arms around Krys as he got out of the shower. His wet hair dripped down on to the back of her neck making her shiver.
"I'm just thinking about how much better my life has become."
Krys mumbeled as she craned her neck to get a better look at bam. He gave his infamous grin before capturing Krys's lips in a kiss. she traced Bam's infamous heart-o-gram tattoo on his stomache with a finger as Bam then pulled her closer.

I wanted it to be romantic but still have Bam's name written all over it. i had plenty of help writing this part from my friend Renee and my boyfriend Tim. originaly this chapter was a bit more rambunctious and had a ton swearing because of some unwanted guests, but ive decided to rearange the chapter and the re-write turned out pretty well despite complications. -the end of phoenix's ultra specail blah blah blah-

Romance in bloom. Aww. Very sweet. But part of me still has a hard time trying to grasp Bam in this new 'mature' light. He always seems so, as you say 'rambunctious' that having him play father figure now and all that almost makes me wonder if it could at all be possible. Maybe that's why it's called fiction, right? XD (I of all ppl should know that *slaps forehead*) Still, as much as I loved it (and I did) there's always that feeling that something bad is looming just around the corner. The constant threat that Jesse poses upon his return into Krys' and his son's life - that's a dark cloud hanging above them, even the happy couple. Aww. Noice!

It was Aidens 2nd birthday. Krys sighed. Bam wasnt any where in sight. they were still engaged but it was hard on Krys with bam being gone the past couple of months on and off. **** they didnt even know when they would get married since it was hard to pin down an actual date. Aiden was happily toddeling around in a daiper and a baby CKY tee shirt. The castle was pretty much empty, everyone had gone their seperate directions doing their own things. But they all did promise to come to Aidens Party. Bam even said that hed be there in time for Aidens birthday. She cast a worried look at the clock, it was less then two hours from the party and there was no sign of Bam any where, not even a phone call. Krys felt Aidens Blue eyes on her. Those blue eyes were one of her favorite things about Aiden. Those pircing blue eyes definentally marked him as one of the margera mob. There was a knock on teh door. Krys put the drinks down and answered the door. Krys slid the door open and gasped. It was jesse.
"What are you doing here? What do you want?"
Jesse rubbed his hand over his chin and gave a sigh. Krys noticed some movement out of the corner of her eye. She turned to see Aiden dart towards the stair case. Krys turned quickly and caught aiden around his middle.
"Aiden Kane Margera, dont you dare!"
Krys scolded and deposited her son into the playpen. Jesse's attention was captured by the small child.
"No mommy no!"
Aiden cried as he kicked his feet trying to get free. Jesse's eyebrows flew up into his beanie but then cleared his throat to get Krys's attention.
"Krys i know you probably want to kick my *** right now....I have no excues...I just....**** that Krys I'm sorry."
Jesse finally muttered. Krys looked from jesse to aiden and back. She knew that no matter how hard she tried and as long as she was still aidens mother, Jesse would always have a part of her heart. She knew that she would have to square with it some day. Jukka always told her that it was always better to do something about it now then to put it on the shelf in your mind. Besides she couldnt really hold a grudge against anyone. Krys smiled.
"Jesse I cant hold a grudge agaisnt you. Its too energy consuming and for the sake of my son, all is forgiven."
Jesse sincerly thanked her and continued to watch Aiden. Aiden noticed that Jesse was watching him. Aiden made a face at him and threw what bam had dubbed as the Vito bear at jesse. As far as aiden was concerned, he was protecting his mother because this guy was someone he didnt know and Aiden didnt like it one bit
"You bye bye"
Aiden said as he frowned.
"Hes a ball of energy thats for sure."
"Hes just like his daddy."
"Bam must be proud."
"as proud as any dad should be."
Krys swallowed hard. She then looked up at jesse. there was something she wanted to say, but it just didnt come to words. She once again felt small, dwarfed by his six foot three frame.
"I...I got alot to finnish up."
Jesse nodded as he looked away.
"I'll keep an eye on the kid while you finish up,"
"thanks jess, it means alot."
Jesse sat down with aiden and Krys went down stairs to open the door for Ape and phil. Ape gave Krys the cake and then asked where Aiden was.
"upstairs with Jesse."
Its a good thing that Ape had given Krys the cake other wise she would have dropped it.
"Are you kiddin me? Does he know..."
"not yet."
Soon the party was in full swing, everyone was there, even Ville, Jukka, and jarppi had made it all the way from finland to the party. Jesse was even asked to stay. The party was fun after Krys had to confiscate the beer bottles from Vito and Dico, there was just one thing missing, bam.

Bam wasnt any where in sight. they were still engaged but it was hard on Krys with bam being gone the past couple of months on and off. **** they didnt even know when they would get married since it was hard to pin down an actual date. Aiden was happily toddeling around in a daiper and a baby CKY tee shirt. The castle was pretty much empty, everyone had gone their seperate directions doing their own things. But they all did promise to come to Aidens Party. Bam even said that hed be there in time for Aidens birthday. She cast a worried look at the clock, it was less then two hours from the party and there was no sign of Bam any where, not even a phone call. Krys felt Aidens Blue eyes on her. Those blue eyes were one of her favorite things about Aiden. Those pircing blue eyes definentally marked him as one of the margera mob. There was a knock on teh door. Krys put the drinks down and answered the door. Krys slid the door open and gasped. It was jesse.
"What are you doing here? What do you want?"
Jesse rubbed his hand over his chin and gave a sigh. Krys noticed some movement out of the corner of her eye. She turned to see Aiden dart towards the stair case. Krys turned quickly and caught aiden around his middle.
"Aiden Kane Margera, dont you dare!"
Krys scolded and deposited her son into the playpen. Jesse's attention was captured by the small child.
"No mommy no!"
Aiden cried as he kicked his feet trying to get free. Jesse's eyebrows flew up into his beanie but then cleared his throat to get Krys's attention.
"Krys i know you probably want to kick my *** right now....I have no excues...I just....**** that Krys I'm sorry."
Jesse finally muttered. Krys looked from jesse to aiden and back. She knew that no matter how hard she tried and as long as she was still aidens mother, Jesse would always have a part of her heart. She knew that she would have to square with it some day. Jukka always told her that it was always better to do something about it now then to put it on the shelf in your mind. Besides she couldnt really hold a grudge against anyone. Krys smiled.
"Jesse I cant hold a grudge agaisnt you. Its too energy consuming and for the sake of my son, all is forgiven."
Jesse sincerly thanked her and continued to watch Aiden. Aiden noticed that Jesse was watching him. Aiden made a face at him and threw what bam had dubbed as the Vito bear at jesse. As far as aiden was concerned, he was protecting his mother because this guy was someone he didnt know and Aiden didnt like it one bit
"You bye bye"
Aiden said as he frowned.
"Hes a ball of energy thats for sure."
"Hes just like his daddy."
"Bam must be proud."
"as proud as any dad should be."
Krys swallowed hard. She then looked up at jesse. there was something she wanted to say, but it just didnt come to words. She once again felt small, dwarfed by his six foot three frame.
"I...I got alot to finnish up."
Jesse nodded as he looked away.
"I'll keep an eye on the kid while you finish up,"
"thanks jess, it means alot."
Jesse sat down with aiden and Krys went down stairs to open the door for Ape and phil. Ape gave Krys the cake and then asked where Aiden was.
"upstairs with Jesse."
Its a good thing that Ape had given Krys the cake other wise she would have dropped it.
"Are you kiddin me? Does he know..."
"not yet."
Soon the party was in full swing, everyone was there, even Ville, Jukka, and jarppi had made it all the way from finland to the party. Jesse was even asked to stay. The party was fun after Krys had to confiscate the beer bottles from Vito and Dico, there was just one thing missing, bam.

Hmmm - wondering where the missing Margera has gotten to....?
Having said that have to give Krys props, she took Jesse's return far more amicably than I would have. Ever heard of 'The Stockholm Syndrome'? I think it could be renamed in Jesse's honour here. Having said that the fact Krys didn't correct him on her son's paternity suggests she is battling with a far greater problem - where does her loyalties lay?
