Vi was shaking on the couch, mostly from anxiety. “Why do you wanna be stronger that rob? What’s going on Vi?” I asked, if vi was planning to do something to Rob, I had to know about it. “Well, I figured if I was stronger that Him, then maybe I could stop him from beating you up and stand up for my family. I figured I wouldn’t have to take his **** anymore, I would be able to stand up to him when he gets into one of his drunken moods and I could stop him when he pulled that thing at the hospital on you fox, and stuff like that.” I was shocked, and so was Andy and Chaz. The memories of Rob’s beatings broke into my mind and I couldn’t shut them out. I put my hands to my temples and kneeled on the ground, attempting to get rid of the pesky memories. Andy rushed to my side instantaneously and put his arms around me. Chester looked at Vi and said in the most fatherly tone I’ve ever heard from him, “You’d give your soul to help fox? Whoa, Okay vi. I’ll turn you. But, you have to swear that you wont rub this in Rob’s face. He’ll get ****** at fox instead of me. If I do this, you have to stick around through thick and thin. If I do this, you’d be apart of Fox and me and our clan. Understand? Do you truly understand?” Vi looked at me on the floor, I could feel his eyes looking over me. He looked back at my father and said, “Yes Chester. I’m dead serious. I’m positive this is what I want. I wont leave you guys, I’ll stand by my sisters’ side till the end, and I’ll try to make peace with you.” Vi looked to the ground. Chester put his hand on Vi’s shoulder and said, “Follow me, I don’t want to do this in front of Fox. She’s already been through a lot tonight. Come on.” Chester went outside to the side of the pool and vi was following him, walking with a purpose. I didn’t see them again for about a half hour because from what Chester told me telepathically, Vi’s body was strong and took awhile to die. He’s mind kept him alive longer than most. But he died eventually.
When Vi and Chester walked back into the living room, I was in the kitchen mixing a drink for Chester, I knew he’d want one after that. Vi was a bit paler than he was normally, and I could tell that he was impressively stronger that he was when he was human. Chester came to me and held his hand out, waiting for the drink. Once I gave it to him and he drank it he said cheerfully, “Man, I don’t know why I go to the bar when I have a really good bartender right here!” I laughed as my father tossed me a bottle of rum and said, “You need this.” I smiled and walked over to vi. “Welcome brother. Now, how do you feel?” I said as I took a drink of my Caribbean rum. Vi looked around the room and said, “Everything looks so different. I can see every detail of ever single object. And my hearing, its unbelievable.” I laughed. “Yeah, you’ll get used to it. I was like that when it happened to me, but you learn to love it.” Vi was looking intensely at the necklace that was around my neck and he looked at me and said, “Whoa, I never noticed the intercity of that necklace.” He looked at Chester, “ You gave that to fox when she was born right?” Chaz nodded. “This isn’t just a neat Asian necklace fox. It’s a key to something.” I looked at my necklace, something that I hadn’t done since before I changed and noticed that Vi was indeed right. This necklace had little groves in it that was meant for a lock of some sort. The round piece of gold with a square cut out of the middle was really a key. I looked at Chaz and he nodded, “Its to a place that you can go if you ever need to gather your own thoughts. I’ll show you it sometime.” He took another drink from the mix and said, “Man, where did you learn to mix drinks like this Foxxy lady?” I laughed, “Oh here and there dad. You know me!” he looked at me slyly and said, “Yeah, I do know you. That’s what scares me. I know how wild you can be!” I laughed wickedly. It scared me for a moment how well he knew me, but then again, I am almost exactly like him.
Andy was just watching us, helping Vi adapt to his new found powers. He moved behind him and chucked a small figurine at his head. Vi turned quickly and caught it an itch away from his nose. “Nice catch new blood sucker.” Vi laughed and shook Andy’s hand. Vi thanked Chester again and again for his help. “Dude, you’re gonna be staying here for the next couple of weeks. You’ll need our help. You can stay in one of my guest rooms.” Andy gasped. “WHAT! Why does HE get to stay in a room but I cant leave the **** living room!?” Chester laughed. “Because, one, he is fox’s brother. Two, he wont wanna do anything to my only daughter! And three. BECAUSE I SAID SO!” We all cracked up laughing. I kissed Andy goodnight, with a scuff from my father, and went upstairs to bed. Today has been very busy and I was beat. I flopped down on my bed and grabbed my stereo remote and turned on Godsmack to fall asleep to. Or at least try to. Vi was in the room next to me so I gave him earplugs. “You’ll need this. Trust me.” He took them without argument. I was used to loud music when I slept even before I was a vampire, but vi wasn’t and he’d need them to even get a wink of sleep.
