I sighed as I woke up. Another day without either my dad or my mom. Dad's in the studio working on a new album and Mom's traveling the world to cover news breaking stories as a journalist. Hey its life and I gotta live it how its served. My names Kilala Shinoda. Now before you even ask, yes my dad is Mike Shinoda from Linkin Park. I hang out with all of the kids that are the spawn of Linkin Park. Draven Bennington's eighteen, one year older then me, Kale Bourdon is the same age as me, so is Ryan Ferrall and Billy Delson. Then of course there's Remy Hahn who's a year younger then us. So we're all around 18, 17, and the only 16. We've all grown up together and for as long as I can remember I've had five guys by my side. we've even started our own band. Except things are a little switched around. Draven is the emcee, Kale is vocals, Ryan is the DJ, Billy is bass, Remy is guitars and I'm the drummer. I wondered how the others seemed to get along seeing that their parents relationships were all stable. Even though they didn't show it the few minutes that mom was home, I could tell by my dad's eyes that he was being put under a lot of pressure. I twisted my black and blue hair into a messy pony tail and put on the wrist bands that my dad got me the last time he was home. I grabbed my DC's and Skateboard and headed down stairs. I looked through the refrigerator and pulled out the sunny D. I took a gigantic swig from the bottle. Hey I was the only one in the house that drank Sunny D. **** I was the only one in the house for the past week. It was Monday and dad said he wouldn't be back from the studio till Thursday or Friday. I looked at the clock as I took another swallow from the Sunny D. Draven was late. We all went to the same school. Every year we had the same classes together since we were on the four by four schedule. Band, Art, Music Theory, and Gym. then the rest of the classes I was in them with Ryan, Billy and Kale. I hurriedly put my DC's on. Draven was really late. Speak of El Diablo. there he is. a car horn blew from the driveway. I grabbed my book bag and my skateboard and locked the door behind me. I slid in the front seat with Draven. He drove the Band Van that he got from his dad to haul around all of us and equipment.
"Sorry I'm late, my mom was nagging me again."
He said as he drove down the street to Kale's house. He honked the horn again and then Kale came running out. We then picked up the rest of the guys and drove to school. Welcome to ****, also known as Agoura High School. Draven pulled up into the regular parking space as someone pulled up beside us. I passed my skateboard back to Kale so he could put it in the trunk with the rest of the skateboards and band equipment. As I opened the door, I heard laughter.
"Hey look its the dork bus."
one of the football players laughed. Draven had come around to my side.
"Is that the best that you can come up with?''
Remy retorted. I grabbed Draven's arm to keep him from pouncing. From the stories that I've heard from my dad, Draven inherited his temper from his dad, and Draven had one **** of a temper.
''What's the matter Bennington? did daddy leave you and mommy for someone better?"
"Don't listen to them Dray, they don't know ****."
I said to him keeping my voice low so only the guys could hear me. A pink tingle appeared on Draven's cheeks as he turned and walked away with us.
"You guys are gonna end up just like daddy, washed up with ****** music!"
the other football player called. I froze. So did the rest of the guys.
"Look *** hole, our dads music is way better then the **** you listen to. If I were you I'd shut your **** mouth before your teeth get rearranged."
I said with a death look.
"But the music is still ****** though."
the jock said. I looked out of the corner of my eye to see Remy's eye twitch. This is gonna get ugly. I mean at least for the jocks they'll be a lot better looking when I finish with their faces.
"Aww, poor little Shinoda seems to have a problem. Did mommy finally leave you and daddy so she can **** every one in the US?"
I flew at the guy who said that. The next thing I knew, Draven and the rest of the guys were right behind me. There was a lot of fighting and yelling as the rest of the school started to chant. Suddenly someone roughly grabbed me by the back of my shirt. It was the football coach, coach Kovaco. I hated him with a passion. He and my dad hated each other when they were in high school together.
"Well well Shinoda, fighting again? Looks like we'll have to give your father a call. That goes for the rest of you too!"
He barked at my friends. I hated when he used just my last name. So we sat in his office while he called my dad

(in the studio with Mike and the LP guys General POV)
Mikes Cell phone rang as the band was taking a break for breakfast. He flipped the phone open and answered. The guys gave him a strange look. He then sighed and hung up his phone.
"Guys I have to go see whats up with Kilala, she's gotten into trouble for fighting and they want me to come in and talk with the principal."
The guys rolled their eyes.
"We better come too, you know that if one of them is in trouble for fighting, they all are."
Chester said. They all stood up and told their manager where they were going.
"Which car are we taking?"

(back at school Kilala's POV)
"I'm sorry about all this **** guys."
I whispered to them. Draven smiled at me.
"Don't be cuz I would have mauled their ***** if you didn't get first dibs."
The others nodded in agreement. We all watched our dads come in and they looked ****** at having to leave the studio. The talk seemed to take at least two hours. They would be really pissy about being set back two and a half hours since they were behind on their deadline as it was. When they finally came out, they looked beyond ******. We knew that we all were suspended for two weeks. the second we were out of the building, our dad's said the worst thing for the six of us. the three worst words in our vocabulary.
"No Band Practice."
"BUT DAD!!"
we all said at the same time. it was scary, we were doing the twin thing again. saying the same thing at the same time.
"CAN IT ALL OF YOU!!"
they all roared at the same time. It left us all shivering.
"we're already two days behind schedule, do you six think you can stay out of trouble for once?"
Chester said exasperated. Oh great here it comes, six different parental lectures for each of us. They all aren't that bad until it comes to my dad. He just gave us all the "look" and shook his head.
"Alright, we're going back to the studio. Stay out of trouble. We'll deal with you when we get home. so don't think your off the hook just yet."
They all got back into uncle Brad's truck. We all climbed into the van.
"*** Ryan, your dad scares me."
Kale said. Ryan shivered.
"Not as much as Draven's dad scares me."
He said. The rest of the ride was silent. We dropped the rest of the guys off and finally it was just me and Draven. He pulled into the driveway of my house.
"You want to come in? They just said no band practice, never said anything about hanging out."
I said. Draven smiled. I was always finding loopholes in things my dad said. He nodded and put the van in park. I unlocked the door and we both went inside. When it was just the two of us, Draven and I sat down at the kitchen table. I got us both something to drink.
"Ki, how are you holding up? You looked more stressed then usual."
Great, one of the things he got from his mom. he knows when somethings wrong. *** I hope I'm not showing it.
"I don't know what you mean."
I said dismissivly. Draven gave his famous smirk. the kind of look when he's about do something that your not going to like.
"Come on Ki. Fess up. Your practically chomping at the bit ever since your mom got sent overseas on assignment."
Ooh he was good. reason number one why I like Draven, there are no secrets between us. Reason number two is that he is a hot skater boy that is fluent in the language of music and switch stance. Don't ever tell him that I said that. He looked at me with a look of concern in his eyes.
"Alright. I think that my mom and dad are having relationship problems. I knew that it'd be stressful with dad always being in the studio and mom always on assignment. The last time they talked on the phone, when dad told mom that he loved her, i swear that she didn't say it back. I don't want them to divorce."
