*makes love....and some peace....and a friend*

See? Haninator is spreading love! Why not you, stop the war, and let the CD be a CD of...rainbow colors...and flowers...

Fine! I am not a hippy, but still I think they should do it to add diversity like Melancholia.

That's exactly why they need to do a song like that. It'll end the constant mundane like droning that their previous albums had. They need to inject some range and diversity into their music. Easier to Run was a good start but it could have been better had it been 5 minutes or so with a guitar solo. Speaking of guitar solos what happened to them? They're like a lost art. It's a shame.
Listen to Hardcore Music and more ungrounded stuff or even better Steve Vai or G3.....solos aren't quite dead they just had some down time in late '90s they are coming back...

I meant in mainstream rock not underground rock.

well that's self explanatory...mainstream gets rid of anything good/honest/sincere and replaces it with something that sells

Guitar solos also require actual talent which is something a lot of mainstream rock bands don't seem to have. >_>

I don't think it has to be that way all the time...

well...getting something that sells is the rule of the market. and since music is now in the hands of global bigass corporations that have no duty but deliver profit to shareholders, it'll continue to be about the money.

ya true, but a album needs least 2 mainstream songs to keep the sales high.. HT had OSC,ITE and Crawling and meteora had BTH,Numb and SIB

they need to make money to live

no...it needs good music and good marketing to sell...

pshh...they've got plenty of money, trust me. and I don't think the world would end for them if they actually had to go back to working regular jobs...

true.but the focus is too many times on the money, instead of the music.
Exactly. That's why people dislike Nu Metal and pop punk because in esseence metal and punk aren't really mainstream styles of music. They aren't meant to be popular. They're more underground. Like Gothic Rock and Emo. Nu Metal and Pop Punk is more like a sell out versions of Metal and Punk designed to appeal to a mainstream audience. It's not about really making great music and being innovative, it's about selling the most records.

So we've all heard when Breaking The Habit is performed with just chester and a piano, and some of us have probably heard Pushing me away on LPU 6.0.
Uhhhh...I haven't. Can someone hook me up with a download of that? I'd love to hear it.

YES! They need more songs like My December. Chester is a good vocalist. It's a shame they don't take more advantage of that. Instead he's just screaming all the time.
Yea, I agree. I love My December!
